Hey...First time I've seen using the flex brake line securement bracket as a means of disconnecting rusted fitting!! GREAT IDEA!!
Not all Hero's wear capes. . . . .
97' Cherokee XJ on driveway, both sides done now following this method.
Aberdeenshire
This is brilliant. And here my job is on hold waiting for a special line wrench that I have on order. I will try your method tomorrow. Thanks.
knowledge and experiences of senior.
I had to use that method and it saved me!
Watching this after having destroyed my hard line trying to swap a hose. I got the old hose off fine but tightened the new one on too hard and crushed the line, now needs replaced. Live and learn.
Yeah, that makes sense, you saved the day. Cheers
If you have the flex lines off, just replace them....
Thanks for the idea! I did it this way.
Quick question, how much brake fluid are you supposed to drink from the line after? Not sure if that was 2 or 3 sips.
Lol just kidding! Great advice!
My brake hose bracket is welded onto wheel-well body.
Not as thick as your one either.
Designed to rust off after 8-10 years driving, of course.
Awesome...working on a dodge 1976
Vogue mini winni now changing the brake hose, calipers and pads....just found your Video. Thanks 🙏 for the idea 💡 since I’ve already removed the calipers for replacement. C
Thank you for that wonderful info ,you save me a lot of time and extra work ,weekend parts changer.
Lucky you have a bolted on bracket as mine are welded!🤣
Great tip! What kind of vehicle is that. I think my Ford Taurus has a similar setup. Have to go look now. I really don't want to use torch if I don't have to.
The only method works form me. Thanks. I guess the older u get the smarter u become
Was your master dry? You disconnected everything and no fluid came out.
Thank you !!!! how did you stop you master from running dry??? And how would you get new one back in??
Wish I watched this before removing my brake line lol.
Or spray fitting with pb blaster, wd40 etc a few days prior and they come apart usually.
thanks a ton for this video!
If it's that much trouble to get it apart the rubber hose should just be replaced before it causes the brakes to seize up, not after.
That's the idea. Getting that brake hose out without rupturing the steel hydraulic line coming from the master cylinder. Trying to turn out the flare nut would break the steel tube because it's rusted into the flare nuts opening.
@@jimmurphy5739 watch the whole video, he declares the line good and doesn't replace it.
Well the problem is you got up leave the clip sometimes that little bracket. The hose is made to come out of that bracket so but even still when you have a really roughy one that's like 20 years old. You probably going to need some heat and a lot of patience and don't go too crazy. Just work it back and forth. And my other thing I was thinking maybe throw a crow's foot on there and use my small impact
Must be native, good tasting break fluid !
Little bit of heat and some water, Bob your uncle!
i'll do this tomorrow, giving it a try👌
Is it true that a collapsed brake hose causes brake pads to brake even if you lifted the foot from brake pedal?
a collapsed brake hose will cause your caliber to stick in the braking position
@@TheTeddy214 okay, so I might have this issue in my 30 years old car… I will try my best to replace those rusty and stuck hoses
what happens if the brake hoses collapes ,is there is a lot of pressure when you use the brakes to pass the fluid pass the collapsed line , then when the caliper releases there is not enough pressure from the Brake Caliper Piston Seal to release the pads off the brake rotors.
@@micheledirocco4994 yes .the way i check when i have hose off is to blow into it. (clean the brake fluid off first it goes not taste that good)
Dude you are crazy enough that this my work
Sucking on brake fluid hose.....😂 good job it's not toxic.....
Great
A life saver
Thx
Great video, helped alot!
Great idea brother i try asap!
Excellent video!
This is a great technique, but this won't work on the diesels
That was awesome thanks
fuk, i just twisted the shit out of mine and said fuck it ill just twist it off then fix it......then i found this video lmao
Thank you sir
I guess that'll have to do for removal, I might decide to use a torch before reassembly. I'm doing engine work and I need to remove the brake line so it'll be off for a while.
That isn't rusty, like mine is rusty!!! And my bracket is welded to the boot floor. I suggest using mapp gas on the outer...
Kroil. Is awesome . Parts are very very hard to get on vehicles 15 years and older . I went through this on a ford Taurus . Small brake line . Discontinued. Part , even from dealerships
I just use a torch.. once it breaks loose it sizzles and smokes and I take a deep fulfilling breath and think why is my neck burning oh shit
Little tougher to do when the line is going into the wheel cylinder. Any ideas?
I'm going to try it
Awsome😊😊
Love the mouth action, now can you show me how to drain a gas tank using that same technique?😅🤣😂
Thank u so much!!!
Man stop playing and replace that line
He blew in the hose like that
What a bodge merchant. Twice over too. 1. What's wrong with spanners and crowfeet❓ using Moles like that on the side you're keeping stands a good chance of chewing up the nut and making things worse❗ and 2. why WD40❓ the WD stands for Water Dispersant, it IS NOT a release agent or lube. Use some proper stuff.
The basis of the tip is good though and many will benefit from it.
Line wrench crow's foot... 1/2" extension small 3/8 impact... Lots of weasle piss
Some people like doing everything the hard way. Soak it with PB Blaster for a bit and then use a crow foot line wrench on a ratchet while holding the bottom.
I twisted my hard brake line by doing that and I had to build a whole new one,
Why all the love for WD40 in all these types of vids?...... see this all the time when a real lubricant or a real rust remover, or some other specialized fluid is necessary.....lot's of folks call out WD-40. Hey....WD40....is a Water Displacing fluid ( Why it's called WD)...not a lube, not a rust-buster.
A lot of people generically call all penetrating oil WD-40. Like how everyone calls snot rags Kleenex. When you sneeze you say “could you hand me a Kleenex?” Not “could you hand me a procter and gamble”
@@ashleyjarvi9379....except.....WD40 is a Water-Displacing fluid......unlike Kroil, PB Blaster, and a HOST of others that are penetrating oils for this purpose. WD40 is not. And when folks say WD40...they usually mean the "WD40" product.....cheers.
@TheWilferch ......"WD-40 is an American brand and the trademark of a penetrating oil manufactured by the WD-40 Company based in San Diego, California.[1] Its formula was invented for the Rocket Chemical Company in 1953, before it became the WD-40 Company. WD-40 became available as a commercial product in 1961.[2] It acts as a lubricant, rust preventive, penetrant and moisture displacer."........cheers
noting wrong with brak line but bow there is a problem to you mouth,,,
Cut the hose, heat up the nut.
Need to try is thank you
I love the taste of brake fluid in the morning... And at noon... And afternoon... And in the evening. But not more than ATF!!!
you can put in the ass if yo want
