Great video. Great playing & teaching, Thanks!! Next to my Empress Reverb, on my board, I have a Source Audio True Spring pedal. The True Spring is super hi-fidelity spring reverb with deep adjustability, authentic “drip”, and tremolo (that I access with the Source Audio aftermarket Tap switch). It far exceeds the Empress’s spring algorithms. Overall, the Empress is sonic joy to play. I love the compactness & versatility of your obviously well thought-out & classy pedalboard. Keep putting out these shipboard guitarist videos!
Thanks Rick - I agree the spring tones on the Empress is brutally lacking. That’s about my only complaint though. As for ships, I think I’m done for good. This video was from my final contract on the Queen Mary, which I had just managed to leave from Australia and return to the States before Covid shut down our airports. It was fun those last few years.
Hi , great presentation video ! Do you know if it's possible to send a MIDI Beat Clock to Echosystem by just using a TRS / DIN cable or if it's mandatory to use a MIDI Box ? Keep on doing videos
Hey Joshua - check out the Echosystem manual, page 27 under advanced configuration. It's called "preset system" about halfway down the page. I have my unit set up in bank preset mode, which limits you to only 3 presets per bank, but then each of the footswitches will automatically recall a preset. If you want tap tempo, you'll need to use a cheap external controller. assets.empresseffects.com/manuals/echosystem.pdf
@@AlexPriceMusician thanks Alex. I was missing the part where I needed an external foot switch to get 3 presets as it's limited to two without the switch. Appreciate the reply!

I really enjoyed this video. Your job sounds pretty cool. Those of us that have ordinary 9 to 5s envy you
It's okay. Plenty of other stuff to have to put up with just to do this though
Awesome, informative video. I recently snagged the Reverb and was looking for some tips/tricks. Super helpful bro, thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
How did you set the echosystem to take care of the subdivision when tapping in the tempo on your dotted eight bank?
Great video, very informative 🙂

Interesting information.
Could you share your presets in SD card archives? Thanks
How do you like the Ecosystem? Thinking of getting one myself to use with my Stomp. Do you run it before or after?
I love it. I run it in the FX loop of the stomp, after the amp and cabinet blocks.
How did you set it up so the tap footswitch on the echosystem was a preset in bank system?

@@joshuamorrison2979 Ah! Forgot that, yeah. It has been years since I changed the settings on my Ecosystem. Great pedal.
Sweet man. The spring verb sounds weird though. I get the point of having it but it's bizarre
Yeah the spring verb isn't the best on the Empress Reverb. I still think it gets the point across though!
05:10 strymon needs to add this function to iridium. it would be a great update
I agree. It’s super useful. Often I set a preset and forget about it for months. There’s no way I’d remember where the knobs are.
