The fact that he is manipulative and controlling and won't respect her individuality is enough to call the whole relationship off. Why? I had to lived with someone that was all the same and felt I was losing my soul - so I divorced him. The worse part he was verbally and physically abusive and that is the worse possible reason to stay. - which I don't stay to be abused.
From my own experience guys THINK they want the manic pixie dream girl, until they have her. I have those vibes myself, and with my exes I often felt smothered- like they wanted me to be smaller.
It was frustrating, I was always different and often felt rejected. I was told I was 'too much' or 'so weird' constantly despite being shy and introverted around strangers. As soon as anyone got to know me I was immediately told that I was such a weirdo.
So to be told that my whole life and FINALLY have someone love, accept and even pursue me felt amazing!! All of a sudden I always had some dude thinking I was going to open him up to a whole new world- I was so different and talented and special.
But the next thing I know it's like they want to tone me down and have me be a more socially acceptable version of myself. It was DEVASTATING. I've only had a couple relationships before I found my partner, but looking back it was a recurring pattern through out my relationships.
I love that my partner just loves and accepts me for who I am. To be fair I chilled out alot as I got older. Nobody wants to be out all night at a rave or urban exploring when they have to be up at 5am. Weekends only lol.
But I think that with my partner I could mature INTO myself. He accepts my weird ideosyncracies as I do his. And if anything he is even weirder and dorkier than I am lol. Plus he understands my ADHD brain because he had the sames issues growing up (he grew out of it, I didn't). I never feel judged. I never feel like he is trying to use me to change his perspective or figure himself out. He just loves and accepts me and helps me to use the chaos instead of fighting against it.
Anyway- I really feel for Miley. She is one of a kind. She will never be the pretty but quiet arm candy Liam wanted. I think he just wanted her to be a more 'normal' celeb. HE wanted to be the news- not HER. Sorry dude. She can't be contained by the likes of you.
To the other maniac pixie's out there- you just gotta find someone who just loves and accepts you. Not someone who loves your wildness, until you've been dating 6 months and now he wants you to quiet down and wear something less embarrassing. It's so worth it when you finally feel free to let your freak flag fly lol.

My boyfriend is quiet, calm, cool and composed. He loves me for who I am, I will never find anyone better than him (through the spectacle of people) . When no one sees us, when we are alone, he is a narcissist, he is not openly demanding but I submit to his demands quietly in order to avoid arguments that would target me, that will blame me, make me feel immensely guilty. So I understand Miley in this context. When everyone projected Liam to be the well behaved all in one guy and Miley the extreme attention seeker, things can really be not how they look or seem.... I find all types of regular, famous, and historical ppl’s stories interesting. Although… I try to avoid idolization of celebs bc history shows all ppl have one side for their “in-public persona/mask”, and another side being who they truly are closed doors. There’s nothing wrong with this, except when you willingly hurt ppl and use a mask to hide that. Many ppl’s two side are very similar, which is healthy, but others (celebrities especially) two sides could not be further apart, like night and day.
