As a kid in the late 50s and early 60s my best friends father had a silver king with one big wheel in the front. I remember he used to brag about how fast it was. I had forgotten all about that till now. Great video!
What sweet little tractors. Them, and LeRoi and Centaur were in a league of their own. Not many small companies could produce a unibody or stressed block tractor, but they all pulled it off quite well.
Friend of mine has a 1936 R38. Beautiful tractor. Runs perfect. It is a great parade machine. Weve pulled with it in the small tractor pulls and it does very well.
We had one when I was 10 years old in 1961. Had the "bull nose", headlights and a single front wheel. Dad bought it in a auction had a spraying rig on it. He took it off-on, plowed, raked, disked, cultivated, baled hay... He even bought a "thrasher" that used the belt drive. Dad loved it. It went with the farm when it was sold. Went back years later to find it but no one had seen it. Fond memories. Is there a club or association of Silver King owners/lovers?
That things screaming along at 25+ mph (looks faster). Pretty much most tractors at the time (like the 8N fords Farmalls and such) would only do about 15 or 16. Heck, even today most modern tractors top out at about 30 or 35mph.
Something not mentioned is that Chrysler lost the lawsuit because the owner of the switching engine company had used the name "Plymouth" on trucks and a single Plymouth automobile in 1910...a full 18 years before Chrysler did.
I have 4 Jacobsen G-10 s from the factory they would travel at 42 MPH from the factory. I only trust one of them at that speed. Must be on a really smooth road or it will bounce like a basketball with no suspension.

We had a Plymouth and a Silver King both built exactly the same.
I don't remember the last time I saw a Plymouth or a Silver King tractor. Always wanted one.
Built just about 10 miles east of me. There’s quite of few of them hiding in barns around here. They do have a pretty good road gear for their time.
My great uncle said the Silver King on our farm had a good road gear. I had no idea how good until seeing this!
Just when you think you have seen all of the tractors -- another one shows up. Nice looking tractor!
Great job restoring them!!!!
I worked for an outfit in Sharonville Oh. That had an old Plymouth switcher. They sold the Whse and the switcher disappeared.
Never heard of this tractor before. Great to see.
Very nice to see them working we are from Plymouth ohio
Beautiful tractors. Great job of restoration
It's kind of Ironic that Chrysler has now canceled the name Plymouth.
And its named Fiat-Chrysler ...
They COULD GO 45 MPH with the govenor removed.. 😬😳
I have a 1939 serial no.3914 Single front wheel It don’t run, yet someday but its a cool looking old tractor. Fastest tractor in its day
Wow these are quick!
Шикартные тракторы. Лучше любого современно в сто раз.
Looks like a lotta fun...clean fun he said!!
Holy shit that thing is fast!!! I don't know if its my lack of knowledge, but surely not all tractors are that fast?!
This is fast for a tractor built of that time
I know the silver king and International had the faster road speeds that era

@@kenarnold9132 M Farmalls would do 18mph from the factory and H farmalls would do 16 mph most farmers opened the governor up on them also.
@@FarmallForever I learned to drive on my dads 8n! I love those old tractors.
nice job with the restorations
Beautiful tractors. There is a Plymouth switcher. In Sharonville oh. At an old grain elevator.
Those Silver Kings are so sweet! One day I'll own one!
Man those things really rip!
Grew up on an old Massey Furgison 35. 👍👍👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Good job! they look awesome!
gotta love the old small farm tractors of any name. the should have changed the mane to PLYMO
or PLYMOH
Nice, very nice.. I restore old International Cub Cadets
Cool rig and video, Thumbs Up liked for you.
I think I operated one of those in Manitoba about 55 years ago.
Beautiful tractors but they must be dangerous if they flip backwards.
Cool tractors indeed, still see some in michigan.
I thought the 16 mph road gear was fast on my 70, sheesh
I thought the same about my model A
Yeah, hell I though 7 was fast in my farmall cub!
Beautiful tractor's
They are awesome. Great restorations. Do you have any more in process??
The two front wheel example looked very much like a Ferguson tractor
I just subscribed to your channel and hello from New Hampshire.
Saw one in Ontario at the Paisley steam show, one of the rear tires was original. B.F.Goodrich I think, from 1938?

I own a 1932 Plymouth tractor
Jesus Christ they fly!!
They claimed you could rake 15 acres hay in about 20 minutes.
I'm no rocket genius. But that little sumbitch looks to be going way faster than 25mph. Lol
The Silver King operators manual guarantees that they will do at least 32mph.
I know a guy that has 10 silver kings
You don't see many of those tractors around, because as soon as they left the farm headed to town they were wrecked.
