Absolutely. I’ve been saying since before the season that the defensive “buy-in” from our stars will determine how far this team goes. Once the Suns have developed cohesion with more reps together, this offense will be unguardable with everyone healthy. But I believe this team’s defensive ceiling is around 12th in the league, **maybe** slightly higher, and they’ll need to reach that ceiling to win a championship, even if they enter the playoffs with the league’s best offense. I know most our fans aren’t sold on Vogel, but there’s no one better than him to take this team to that defensive ceiling. The offense will be dominant regardless of who’s coaching because of the offensive IQ and firepower they have, so pairing them with a defensive minded coach who can maximize their defensive capability is a smart move. But the hire will only work if his star players are bought in on the defensive end, which they are. It’s one of the main reasons why my championship hopes for this team have remained high.

Didn’t really know Bradley Beal before he came to Phoenix. But now I can tell why we were so intent on getting him! What a great attitude.
