The government spends billions of dollars to make time travel possible, yet bunch of criminals are able to do it with relative ease and much less cost. The moment it became clear what they were after I just lost interest.
PEOPLE PEOPLE listen to Claire. Her Grandmother clearly drilled the details of the ship into her head because she knew damn well she was going to go back and meet her at some point.
Unlikely scenario for one reason. Claire stated that she was nine years old when her grandmother (Edith) died. The parts where Edith experienced a sort of déjá vu whenever she spoke to Claire was never fully explained. Perhaps it only served to make the story more interesting.
Wooden stairs inside a swimming pool? And all the way to the bottom? They would rot out in less than a year or at least be extremely slimy .. whoops! It's in the details 😂😂
I am watching the whole series. I haven't seen it since it was on TV in the 90s. Likewise, I loved the movie and then followed the series. Thank you for making it available on UA-cam.
The planet moves around the sun. If you are smart enough to build a real working time machine that can compensate for the Earth's rotation AND its orbit around the sun, then you're smart enough to make sure your time traveler lands anywhere on the planet that you want.
A lot of time travelers steal outfits, but if your goal is to make as few ripples as possible, then you should pay someone today to make as accurate an outfit as possible for you...one for each day and situation you think you'll need. Then you can blend in right away. The act of stealing those clothes may cause a bigger ripple than you think.
Just wondering, but if the "TEC" knows where and when they're sending their 'Time Cops' to, why don't they have a wardrobe and makeup dept. before launch? I mean REALLY? Subcommittee budget constraints? What? That's just a bit too 'Wild West', no?
There was another show called Seven Days which also dealt with Time Travel, but only going back in time Seven Days. It seemed to be more Sucessful than Time Cop. It lasted I think 3 years.
A ship of that time and importance would have had 3 wireless sets .Even with almost no passengers she would still have a reduced crew of at least 300. The location of the swimming pool would be located at least 2 decks above the the ship's bottom structure so the explosion would not cause the loss of the ship. The logical place to place explosives would be on the bilge valves, seacocks and machinery water inlets.
@@shanebaker7153 Well, us dick heads actually care that people might learn something through entertainment. do you know that Avatar is Romeo and Juliet and the Tempest?
I wish that they would keep wearing their clothes from their time for a while anyway. I'd like to know how she had time to do her hair! ( in the 30's wave )"She probably did it before she left for 1939, June."
This had such promise.Too bad the writing and directing was so juvenile they missed that potential. Like in this episode. How is it Hemming's hairstyle changed during the jump to match the times yet they are never dressed to blend in, they have to steal clothes first thing? They never carry weapons even though they are dealing with violent criminals. And they ran with idiot stereotypes like this "redneck", and we all know that guy's stupidity is going to cost the bad guys the win.
This episode had been done first as an X-File adventure with Maulder and Scully between realities on the ship full of Nazi pirates. Still, recycled script or not, a brilliant episode and to me a hlghlight in both series
32:18...........Ok, so the women are the only people that know how to fight or throw a punch because I see grown men just standing around doing absolutely nothing. This scene is fake and farfetched!!.......Smh
Most all of these are bogus because once they found out what was going on they could go back to an earlier time and stop them from putting the gold and a bomb on the boat. All of these stories have that huge hole in them.
LOL, but they can't go back and then go back again, the idea is that they can only go back once. there was that remake pilot of The time tunnel. When one of the characters was killed off they talked about how they could only go back once. But this show is fun to watch, not enough time travel shows out right now, just Timeless and Travelers, and that new show The Crossing but it doesn't count because they only travel to the past and stay there.
And the record player was running at 33/3 RPM on a 78 record. At the end where magnets were used to upset the compass that came from the record player was impossible as in 1939 speakers had electromagnets not permanent magnets.
So you're telling me that a Grandchild that goes back in time and meets her grandmother, can still touch her? wouldn't her grandmother know that she met Claire in 1939 and question that later in life (before she died)? They sure know a lot about the TEC considering its a Classified Agency.
Kevin Howard Claire’s grandmother would not necessarily figure out that she met her future granddaughter in 1939, since the grandmother died when Claire was nine years old. They already touched on this theme with the grandmother having a strange sense of familiarity whenever being around Claire, despite Claire not having been born for another thirty-some-odd years. Besides, Claire only spent a few hours with her grandmother in ‘39, so the odds of her remembering Claire in detail are nil.
This stupid serious is so full of worn out stereotypes, it's not funny. No story, wooden acting, but some people will be attraced by "time travel'??? Maybe not...
loving this series cant believe i missed it in the 90s

If you time travel you would be in that same space I don’t think you would wind up in different locations.
The planet moves around the sun. If you are smart enough to build a real working time machine that can compensate for the Earth's rotation AND its orbit around the sun, then you're smart enough to make sure your time traveler lands anywhere on the planet that you want.
Time travel has to include location travel; otherwise you would end up floating in space or buried.
They don't even try to send them back in authentic period clothing??
I know, that's one of my main objections in this case.
oh be quite
Lol look at Timeless, they just steal them :D

LP records weren't introduced until 1948, NOT 1939.
If you're referring to the record player in the very beginning that's a 78 RPM record not an LP (Long Play) 33 RPM.
And the record player was running at 33/3 RPM on a 78 record. At the end where magnets were used to upset the compass that came from the record player was impossible as in 1939 speakers had electromagnets not permanent magnets.
So my 78 should not exist?
