I don't believe that is true. There are some singers out there that can sing better than Amit Kumar. For example, Alok Katdare and others. Amit doesn't come that close to his father's voice and singing like other singers. Accolades are showered on Amit on behalf of his father when singing his fathers' songs.
Man you comparing 70 yr old man to others, if you didn't know he has his own songs too which are very famous and listen to him singing kishore kumar at a much younger age. It is on youtube then you will understand my point maybe.

Dear Amit. Kishore. was 1000 times. better than you.He was unique .Now. there Will not be another Kishore. Rafi. & Kishore. were the greatest.. the songs of these singers were excellent. the young generation cannot underest.
