Dang, ANOTHER one where the description ran over! Well, here's the last 2: 4. Mastema- Pretty tricky fight but is preferable to his Law route counterpart. It’s common knowledge that Mastema has 4 distinct phase, the start of which are indicated by Magatsuhi turns. He starts off with Light, spamming Hamabarion and Mahamabarion. Then physical where he uses Dark Sword Gaming and the appropriately named Seething Mansemat, an all-target move that always crits and has a greater effect on crit. Next is the Force phase where he uses Zanbarion and Untainted Wind, a force attack that can inflict charm and also has a Doublitate effect. And finally is the Almighty phase, where he spams both Freikugel and Great Lament, a severe almighty attack that can inflict mirage or poison and does more damage to targets inflicted by ailments. I built my team so that Mastema is virtually harmless for phase 1-3. Phase 4 though is where you have to be careful because Freikugel has basically a guaranteed crit chance and he can follow that up with a party-wipe easily. However, despite me calling them “phases” a better word would be “patterns” as he will always cycle through his moveset in the order he introduces them. So once he has his final Magatsuhi turn, he’ll cycle through Almighty-Light-Phys-Force in that order. So we can plan around this to deal as much damage as possible while guarding on the Almighty phase to prevent crits. Speaking of which, the Omogatoki skill of choice in this fight isn’t Critical, but rather charge. This makes it so I can only cast Succession once and have it active for the rest of the fight. This also makes it so a Nahobino with Fire Dracostrike and Succession and Odin with Akashic Arts and Crit Aura can deal roughly 10k damage per Magatsuhi turn! Namaah is here to cast Debilitate and Sakuya is here for buffs and MP management. 5. Matter Lucifer- This is the (normally) Level 85 Lucifer you fight normally. Trucifer, as I call him, will be tackled another time. Despite being weakened, Lucy is no pushover. However, a well balanced team can make this fight more than doable. First of all, when tackling this fight without going ham with stat-increases, you CANNOT one-shot the stars. However, they can be made trivial by having Nahobino taunt and use Luminescent Mirage. However the thing that REALLY makes the fight challenging is Lucifer’s trait. If he is not attacked on your turn, he will start his next turn with one additional full press-turn icon. And the amount of hurt three-press Lucy can dish out can be overwhelming. My initial setup was Sakuya for support, Beelzebub for debuff and hitting Lucy and Agrat to hit him with Queen’s Decree. However I soon found out that Agrat could not survive Lucy’s Megidolaon comfortably, so I swapped her out for Odin with Gungnir. Additionally, I also had to swap out Sakuya with Namaah and Beelzebub for a newly-fused Shiva because of MP. Thankfully Shiva is perfect for this fight as Tandava is the perfect counter for Cold Dark Matter. All and all, keep the pressure on him, don’t lose focus, and you too can beat Shin Megami Tensei V Vengeance on Godborn at Level 99!
Curiously, Boundless Sea is actually weaker than both of the Moonlight Frost skills, 180 power instead of 200 (player version) and especially 450 (Tsukuyomi version). 180 is shockingly low, that's less than nerfed Megido Flame (235) and Heliopolis Dawn (215). It's only slightly stronger than Dreadful Gleam (165). It's even weaker than Nahabdiel's Purgatorium (220). It does have the Dekaja effect going on though. Nah the big meme damage skill is Annihilation Ray. *_3500 power._* Literally the only skill I think has higher power than this is Demi's Game Over Gaea Rage. Granted since Annihilation is a Magatsuhi skill its got weird level independent damage going on, plus when phys nulls are in play it literally can't even. So again, big meme numbers. Mastema's boss only skills are barely worth talking about, Seething Mansemat is just Hades Blast but weaker (120/180) and always crits, while Untainted Winds is weaker than _Mazandyne_ with 150 power and costs *_240 MP base_* with the only benefits being 50% charm (meh) and double Debilitate (not worth being stuck on a worse Mazandyne that costs too much, use Beelzebub instead). I'm not sad we didn't get these skills. Seething Mansemat still has a 10/10 name tho.
Ayyy my fav boss in this one I just really like punching Mastema in his smug face I also realized that, while most other angels have white wings (with the exception of the power angels), Mastema has black wings instead. Makes sense considering the things he does could be described as ’much darker‘ than what angels are usually depicted to do.
True smt 5 experience: No omagatoki critical No dampeners (attack and magic mirror are allowed, block ice and stuff are fine too) Avoid Repel and drain skills as much as possible, do not use them in essences No gospel, grimoire and statues Hard mode obviously, this smt is easy compared to 4 and strange journey
@@theshape3872 no, I finished the gamemultiple times in switch and veangeace 4 times without it, enduring soul, passives and the “block” skill, for tiamat for exemple, just use phys block, or have enduring soul or attack mirror or at least one party member with phys block

Luminscent Mirage + Intercalation is so busted, It's unbelieavbly helpful for these Empyrean Bosses it's unreal. Good job on the run, Lucifer and Metatron are especially mean for having no weaknesses 😅. *Edit:* Shoutouts to Godborne Mastema when he gets Omagatoki Pierce so Seething Mansemat is actually a threat unless you have the miracle that cancels it with a guard.
