Cheers ! Had to use 80's tunes ;) There's another in there from Tangerine Dream but harder to recognise.... my admiration to the first to state which film it's from... :)
Is it a real EII ? No, because it`s just a software sample player. Does he sound like an EII ? Not exactly- but all sound purists may forgive me (and I`m one myself)- nobody will really hear if you make your song with samples from the hardware or the software. Is it worth the money ? It´s a difficult thing If you have a low budget and it`s a question between appropriate use and nostalgic flair but overall, I think it's a bit too expensive for a simple sample player. Are there alternatives ? Somehow yes. Proteus VX by E-Mu. It´s a freeware plug-in with lots of different E-Mu samples including some stuff from EII, too...but it`s not really a nostalgic 80`s vintage gear. Unfortunately it`s a 32-bit plug-in and you need a bridge for 64-bit systems (by the way, the fl studio 32`bridge works fine via rewire in 64`cubase). But if you want the real flair and samples of the 80`s and you haven`t a real EII or Emax stand around somewhere, I know no other software synth with dozenz of og-samples from EII. And there are some nice differences to the hardware, too...unlimited polyphony, no floppy disc changes, no waiting times and no upkeep costs :D
Hey John, How's it going? I still have the CD you mailed me years ago to California. Still have it in my car to this day and listen to it once in a while and loving it. I'm currently contemplating to sell my EII and to substitute with this. I see you've done some demos of this plug...What's your thought...how close is it in your opinion?
I find it quite odd how they try to mimic that 8 bit aliasing sound found in the original emulator save for the fact that the original had kick ass filters that made the sound huge...these are the same sounds per se, just not the same BEEF of the original, if that makes any sense
I hear you and you are right. But the original is nowhere to be found unless you want to pay more than a new synth. This emulation is perhaps 85 to 90% on. Add some EQ or downsampling and in the mix, no one will hear the difference.
@@MrLawrence0071 Technically, this is not an emulation of the Emulator II. All of UVI's products are sample-based. Also, they master the samples, so they are ready for use in a DAW or played live. Consequently, these sounds will not match the raw sounds one would hear while playing a real Emulator II. :)
Can you please write short comparing this software with Emulator II ? Are there only factory sounds or only some sellected? There where many floopy discs with patches as I know, did they restore those also or only basics? Write something more. Thx.
This is preset player only. No sampling and you can't load EII banks into it. There are some EII sounds included within it but probably less than 50% of the sounds included (from memory). It's a cheaper way of accessing some EII sounds but the library is very limited in comparison to the original EII libraries stretching to over 1000+ banks.
I have to say, it sounds really good. But the UVI stuff is SO expensive...I think this one is like $200 - which is a lot for a single-purpose sample library I think!
Doesn't it just ! :) One of the most simple but effective melodies ever....
Love this mate!.. Sun & The Rainfall and Visions in Blue.. superb!
Nice inclusion of DM's "Somebody" with that piano.
The filter was the big bonus of the emulator. The next step of uvi should be, to develope such a good filter!
"The Sun & the Rainfall" rules!!!!

Very impressing sounds!
really good job on the music! It would be so cool to have access to all the banks or somebody come up with a hardware recreation.
5:07 Visions of you! lovely!
It's Whisper Vox played in the lower octaves. If you go to UVI's own YT channel they've uploaded my demo displaying each preset I used. :)
Very Good ! ;-)
Love it !

It's from the 'Legend' film soundtrack by Tangerine Dream.
Tune was made up but intended to sound a bit Depeche Mode like. Cheers.
Sorry, missed this. Some presets are taken from the EII, very recognisable and decent reproductions. No sampling here though !
First song is " My Secret Garden " of Depeche Mode
4:20, Somebody - Depeche Mode too.
hermoso beautiful
Yep, but not the full reproduction of it. The original EII bank has four variations, from memory, this has two (I think). Would have to check.
3:33 reminds me on alan silvestri‘s „the abyss end title“. Anyway, well presented sounds.
TheKorgUser me too, I’m pretty sure it is
Yep, that's Whisper Vox.

Or you could just sample it back into an Emax....that’s how I plan to use it.
that intro @0:20 reminds me of final fantasy 7 soundtrack
TANGERINE DREAM AND VANGELIS USED AN ELECTRIC LEAD GUITAR SOUND FROM THIS MACHINE I HOPE I CAN FIND IT ...
The real thing still sounds better with more bass echo reverb noise etc that make the unique sound what It Is.
Does this VST have the classic Emu Shakuhachi sound?
which chords is he playing at 1:15
Hi,but this software read loading a original soundbank from Emulator II (*.EII or *.sd2)??
No. Only the soundbank presets created within it.
ok thanks!

TAL SAMPLER... chk it!!!
What melody kicks in at 1:47 ? That one is brilliant !
I want this vsti!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sounds like they were simply copying the riffs from the track 'Situations' by the group Cetu Javu
waooo THAT'S sounds like a realy vintage hardware not like arturia VSTI
Does it contain Shakuhachi sound?
Hum, the links are broken, and that bugs me a lot cos I intended to use the shit out of those wonderful pads.

nice DM shit!!
4.45
no funcionan los vinculos
Thankyou, now edited.
NICE...but not a REAL Emulator...too clean sounding...
