Hoy shit you're dumb. I own close to 2000 CDs. Over half of those are reggae and Ska. You bring up race, no where did I say anything about race, In fact the reason I said UB40 took the culture out of Reggae which started out as militant religious music genre is because they took those elements out of the music. Thank for playing though.
esta excelente canción me recuerda cuando era una niña y a mi padre ... gracias a el sigo esta música tan agradable. aún nos sentamos en la sala de la casa a escucharla y recordas viejos tiempos .
I had forgotten this song but looked it up on my own list from that time and now I'm rediscovering all those songs I thought I had forgotten. This is probably in the Top 3 of my all-time favorite UB40 songs! :-) #UB40HIGHERGROUND
I always used to think about this song during my classes back in high school! It just got into my head and never left, LOL. If I remember correctly, I don't think I ever saw the music video for this song on either MTV or VH1 - VH1 perhaps. This was the follow-up song to their big juggernaut summertime hit "Can't Help Falling In Love".
I was 17 when I heard this and I thought that this was about memory limit of your brain. I thought the message was don't learn too much or you will overwrite what you learned about before. But years later I realized the true meaning of this song. It means when you strive to learn you learn something that change your reality. So if you thought knew something lets say health and you learn something knew then everything you knew about it before was wrong> So that is the meaning of of less I know about before. And that makes wanna look around more. This song is so profound for the seeker.
No he left the band (that he founded) due to the management making bad property deals that previously lost the band a lot of money, not to mention the management at DEP forgetting for 16 years to register the band to recieve airplay royalties which lost them an estimated further 7 million. The mangement wanted to buy reposessed houses and then sell them back on at a profit and some of the band also wanted to (as some are also directors of the bands management) do this. Ali did not want to.
...so then without the backing of his bandmates and friends in the band they failed to side with his decision. Also he asked for records of the bands finances which they repeatedly failed to disclose. So when he took the management to a tribunal the management then put DEP in to administration so they would not have to disclose finances or attend the hearing.
LOVE THIS SONG. I thank my mom for having good taste in music.
UB40 one of if not the best band to come of out of the 80s still listening to these tunes classics
UB40...the best reggae band ever.........
You don't really like reggae do you? UB40 were the first band to completely take the culture out of reggae.
No Dave, false!
Well there's a plausible argument.
Come on Dave, the only argument you have is going to be racist. It's ok, let it go. Enjoy the best reggae band ever! :)

What a shame: I wish the band had stayed together and fired the management instead :-(
