I HAVE DEMENTIA - PART2 - DEMENTIA CAUSED BY DISEASES OF THE BRAIN - Alzheimer’s PPA Disease causes

What does this mean…? Well, it means that it CANNOT be caught like a cold or flu/Covid etc. So, what ‘diseases’ are we talking about here?
* Alzheimer's disease.
* Huntington's disease.
* Vascular dementia.
* Dementia with Lewy bodies.
* Frontotemporal dementia.
* Normal pressure hydrocephalus.
* Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (prion disease)
* Corticobasal degeneration.
So, in other words… LOTS and LOTS of diseases are all called ‘Dementia’ and they are ALL different. It is actually possible to have TWO types of dementias at the same time.
Alzheimer’s is caused by build up of proteins, vascular dementia is to do with blood not getting to the right places in the brain, Lewy bodies is similar to Alzheimers in that it is clumps of proteins where they shouldn’t be, Frontotemporal dementia is where the chemicals in the frontal lobes are not correct.
There are lots of other things that bring on Dementia, like a stroke, TIA’s and accidents that lead to brain trauma. Even now more things are being discovered that have the potential they think to start dementia in a human… rugby, heading the ball in soccer, being slapped by someone many times for sport, watching tennis, (not certain where i read that one), and other ways we bash our heads and bruise the brains that are protected inside that hard shell for a reason?
Whatever the causes are or have been or could be… let’s just shout out to the world this message; Our brains are more important than our bank accounts!
