Top Racer - Coleco Tabletop (Mini Review)

- I picked up a Top Racer Coleco Tabletop last week (I loves me some miniature racer action). I actually bought it of some on eBay from the USA. Here's a mini review from the little bit I've played so far.
I forgot to mention in the video - It comes with a micro USB to USB A cable. As I also mention in the video - I've no idea if I plug this into the mains over here whether the voltage difference between the UK and the USA would fry it and whether it would really need a stepdown transformer. i'm just powering it with AA batteries at the moment.

This was made by Piko Interactive, who bought the Bleem! name a year or two ago. They also own a few other IP's from Gremlin and Ocean, and stuff like Wisdom Tree.
Ahhh, I see.
That's a cool little machine. I wish Sega would make an Outrun version.
@@HunterTinsley I've been wishing that too. Keep watching this space though, I might just have found the ideal substitute - don't want to say any more than that just at the moment. Hopefully I'll be able to provide an update on this soon-ish.
Oh, the horror
I love how you pronounce Coleco
@@dbnpoldermans4120 Oh yeah... forgot it's pronounced Col-E-co. This was unscripted and just recorded on the fly.
Wait, what? Why did you edit in that "The horror" bit?
@@MrThunderwing It was just funny to hear it that way. At first I thought you were kind of making fun of of the name.
@@MrThunderwing The horror of that device, the games, the controls, the artwork. Just everything about it is wrong. Sounds very bad as well.
@@dbnpoldermans4120 Well sweet Jesus mate, don't feel you need to hold back your true feelings for my sake... 😆
So the thing is called Top Racer, but contains only Top Racer 2, and not even the SNES version but the inferior (if only for the BGM/SFX choice) Amiga one... Great, money well spent :)
I don't think too many people would like it if it was the first Top Racer, as that game was split screen, even if you were playing single player.
@@Larry Many people prefer the first one, and it should have been a compilation with all 3 Top Racer (at least 1 & 2) in their best version.
Oh, I hadn't realised there was an _actual_ Amiga version. I mean, it is what it is. I wanted one of these Coleco style tabletops, I've no interest in Frenzy or Beserk, I like arcade racers, so... ehhhhh.
@@pinkimo_ A compilation would've been nice, but if they're only going for one game, I'm glad they didn't use the forced split-screen 1st one.
@@pinkimo_ Totally agreed. Imagine a version of Lotus for snes..
