Man.. I get the concepts and such but for some reason the wiring is just not clicking. We have a box we built the face, backplane and put in all the switches lights and fans. Then a transformer with two contacters linked (forward and a reverse) with the overload. Then the on button that stays on with the forward , a white power indicator light, a reverse button with a light and toggle switch that I am not sure what is supposed to do yet. Figuring out how to jump wires around to get everything powered to the proper place and in parallel is really confusing atm. Hoping it will click soon because I HATE not understand things I am working on with my hands. Your vid kinda helped my thinking a bit so thank you for that. Out instructor basically gave us a box full of contacters, overloads and these bars that go across the top contacts of both contactors, pointed to the switches and lights and said have fun. We have a lab worksheet but it is basically just the schematic. Also got a grand total of 1 hour talking about ladder logic. Only one or two guys in my class seem to have a good grip on things and everyone else’s brains are fried. Thanks again for these videos, it helps to see the diagram against the actual components. You seem like a good teacher

Thank you and no problem! Can I direct you to this video I made for a more basic understanding of a motor control.

I'm not sure exactly what you’re trying to do but this video kind of explains the basics. I plan to redo all of my motor control video next year but if you need help please let me know.

Here in Uganda what we usually do is connect the ON indicator light to the NC of the overload, and the off to the NO of the overload, but I think there are lots of ways to do it

Where is the neutral? Do you need a neutral wiring controllers?

That would not show if the Motor runs or not . In the moment when you push the start button the Light comes on, no mater if the Motor runs or not. The Light should be connected on Motor 6 and O/L 3 . Now if the Motor doesn't run, the Light will not get power.

It depends, It is common to indicate if the contactor is getting power, not necessarily that the motor is running. One assess that the motor should be running if the contactor is energized.
