That would be epic if they could. Zman holds the patent to the original chatterbait. It's why all the others on the market have a split ring between the jig and blade to not violate the patent, but this way doing DIY, you can bypass the split ring and make it work and thump much more like the original Zman's. They would either have to use the same split ring setup that everyone else does or get Zman permission to make them like this. They all catch fish though, so I'm sure they are considering it.

I think the dark blade is perfect on this small presentation. I think you'll get a better chance of hooking up on more bass with the dark blade because it visually cuts down the visual presentation to just the white jig & trailer but you still get the full sound & vibration attraction from the blade. It will make the bass zero in on hitting the trailer & jig and not target the blade if they try to just half heartedly swipe at it. Fantastic idea & setup. I'm going to have to find some of those switchblades to try this will some different stuff.
Also, when are the new Powell/G Squad rods gonna drop? Pretty sure that's what they are if my hunch is correct. Am I right? LOL I hope so because Lunkers & LFG's test rods sure look like Endurance hardware & grips.

Z man owns the patent of the blade to hook direct connection, you have to add a spilt ring between blade and hook or else they are gonna be coming after you

In reality everyone is copying everyone, it's only so many things you can change, but I don't think you can get in trouble if you attach directly to the hook as the bait is simply being modified not manufactured, and I've done this numerous times.

For sure. The reason these are better than others is theres no sppl lit ring connection and why zmans and jackhammers action start to quickly.....no split ring connect between blade and lure. Split ring connected ones dont do nearly as well
