      @@icyb3r1 unfortunately pop os is acting weird on my laptop for the version 22.04.. even boot efi i have to allocate 1gb then only it will work, 513mb shows less efi system.

    • @icyb3r1
      @icyb3r1  2 роки тому

      @@ownislah I recommended at least 1GB for boot efi partition, because the Pop OS keep updating the kernel, so more space means more old kernels you can keep.
      which laptop brand you have?
      Are you installing on VM or direct on your laptop?
      are you installing Pop OS in dual boot with windows?

      @@ownislah I advice you to install it on virtual box or vmware, before go to direct installation over laptop, besides that, are you using separate DISK for pop os or you have free some space on the same disk with windows os?

    WARNING: Don't use the lvcreate osvg -n root -l 100%FREE command if your planning to dual-boot, it will wipe your system, instead use a set gigabyte amount.

      Basically what is does is if you have windows it will minimize windows to the lowest possible size, which makes it not work. and it will make all non-linux partitions tiny

    • @icyb3r1
      @icyb3r1  10 місяців тому

      It will not, because it will use 100% free space of the osvg volume group not your entire disk.

      That's right, for me I usually add 2 GB to /boot/efi partition, because the I need to keep old kernels as much as I can, incase of any failure I can fail back to the older one.

    Hi there!
    First of all thank you a lot for making this tutorial, it made some things clear for me. But I've a problem, and I need help.
    I've one SSD installed in my machine, gpt partition. I've made one of disk partitions bootable by unmounting pop os 22.04 lts iso to there. I managed to boot it. I did the same thing as you shown: I made 1GB fat32 partition for /boot, 4GB for /restore and the rest for general purposes. Then I created physical volume from the general one, and divided it into swap and root as you shown. Problem is the installer is only seeing the osvg, not boot or restore. I think I should make /boot as physical volume but I have no clue about file systems. I would be glad if someone help me, thanks!

    I wish to express my thanks for the time and effort you invested in this excellent video tutorial. I am a Linux Noob and was able to follow your tutorial successfully. I do have a question that I am hoping you can answer via another video tutorial or written reply? My question is instead of using Swap file could you kindly tell me how to create a SwapOnZram instead when creating logical drive called Swap (or would logical drive even be necessary when using SwapOnZram?) Either way I would appreciate knowing how to create it when installing Pop OS 22.04 . Thanks again kindest regards!
