STOP PUNTING. Your final table Bluff would normally work but you never take into account perception of your play, you're only concerned with what the math says to do. You really could have won had you not gone all in that hand, it's easy to call that
Seems to be his standard losing hand he starts with a marginal hand bets too much gets pot committed and then convinces himself that his opponent has less than Ace or King high.
Psychologically, his consistent punting of his stack is a symbolic sign of frustration between the sheets from an angry newlywed wife refusing him of some nookie because he consistently is punting his stack- Short form?-He’s masterbating tonight…
Dude I'm not your sub but was wondering how you been doing in poker. Forgot your name so I had to search UA-cam degen poker... anyways Normally I wouldn't care to comment but I'm quite disappointed in you. I know there plenty of comments of you punting but I felt the need to add more fuel to the fire. Because you don't take this sht seriously. You got IRL connections like your many friends with poker knowledge- Danny. Even making this content you just spewing for your own degen itch man. I get it you won few big tournaments but damn come on man. You got some ego or degen itch going. In this video alone when you get big stack that ego comes in and all sound reasoning is out the window. We all go a degen high in us but damn. Fix yourself and elevate
I believe you have to call there with A9. You're not only chasing the 9 but the board can pair twice for a chop. You also have runner runner straight possibilities. You have 8.3% chance. But all that aside this was a fantastic log with great analysis that put us in your brain. Congrats on the deep run
Thanks Ryan for your videos. From the same area as you and been playing poker since the MMera. Love poker tourneys and play them before cash always. Not a lot of vloggers that do tourneys - I can relate with so much you say - thank you
Hey man, part way through the vid and I've noticed you play fairly old school. I know you don't go for gto that much but I think you're losing a lot of value by not leading. The idea of donk betting is antiquated and it gives you a great opportunity. There have been a couple times you auto checked when you could have considered betting... for instance, when you made a set on the turn with 10's, a bet could work and might get the guy to reraise, giving your more money. Consider what Mathew Janda writes in his amazing books... you should bet for two reasons- 1. To deny your opponent equity (getting him to fold when he would win or was likely to win), 2. Adding money to the pot in case you win. Just don't want you to leave money on the table. And most of your opponents aren't paying enough attention to frequencies or sizing. Gl brother
I hear you but that hand is poor example. Of course the goal is get the most money but doing so by check raising gives your opponent a chance to bluff it give you two ways for them to put money in the pot - betting for value or betting as a bluff. If you bet yourself then they are never gonna raise worse hands so you set too low a price. Check raising is how to get max money as opposed to donk leads but obviously everything is subjective. Same goal diff approaches
Asking someone to add a donk lead complex strategy that can’t even hand read well enough and makes basics errors in simple spots already is insane. Work on other basic flaws before adding new strategy
they made a mistake. if he shows the hand and its not all in he can only play passive. that means he cant put you all in. thats by the poker tda but they may have other rules in house. you should have called the floor
Ryan, that was a massive punt when you reached the final table. I understand being card dead and wanting to make something happen. Be patient. You played well besides the last hand.
Great punt, I thought this was the vid where I could say I've been waiting 3 years for another victory, but you punted into miz Auntie. Better control next time
At the later stages like that bluffing is really dangerous because you’ll get the people who’ve made their chips calling bluffs and running good to there.
Bro stop promoting stake. Find it funny you deleted my comments about stake NOT honouring your code, it’s 100% a scam. I tried multiple times and support str8 up said your code does not exist
It's ok man, we've all been there but playing K8 in that spot shows no patience. You had great patience all tourney. Love the content and will always be a fan my guy! Still a great run!
but you also read the situation correctly, that’s a win bro! You sensed weakness and went for it - that’s the right energy 4sure! … let’s just stick to high implied odds hands in that situation, A x suited, suited connectors, suited one gappers and two gappers🙌💯
On a QT6 flop just bet small when unblocking Qx and str8 draws, rarely sb completely misses except low pocket pair and if so you rarely get that much value on later streets anyways.
i don't think you donk lead the river with set of 10s if the premise on calling the flop was that his range was bluffy. If thats true, the only way to get more on the river is to check. no? .........GREAT VIDEO RYAN!!! :D !! XD LOVE YOU !!
That K8 bet was a punt but what about the lady? She was short stacked calling 1/5th of her stack for a gutshot and got lucky making a runner runner flush lol
I love how Ryan acts like a fish pretending he just guessing on his plays.. but in reality a really smart player, you don't make 2 WSOP final tables without having strong game.
In mystery bounty tournaments are you suppose to be betting or checking more on flopped sets? On the flop; feels like you should be betting in mystery bounty’s, but idk 🤷♂️ 🚀
I think the goal is always the same with sets just get the most money possible. but you are right if you getting at it’s better to fast play more than usual either way if you cover the person or are covered
With the woman you punted to. You didn't have the range advantage on the flip so a check would work, but if you bet the flop you might want to consider betting the turn. Either way, when you get to the river there might be a better argument for betting 15%-25%. In situations where she will call no matter what (flush etc) you will save money, but it also looks like you're way ahead and trying to extract what you can. Which puts a lot of pressure on ace high or middle pairs, two pair etc. without risking so much
LMAO at that lady tank calling a flush on the final table. In my head I was wondering how light you could value bet for a jam on that river (because I'm probably only value betting hands I am jamming), and I was thinking 1010 with a club is 100% a jam, A9 with club is close. So to see her nitroll with a flush is so funny. Like we are jamming higher clubs on the turn so often given all the higher club combos are either combo draws or nut clubs with overs... FE and bounty (although bounty is minimal EV, still) and why would we ever check back two pair or a set on a two-tone straightening board turn? If we have any Jack, we assume we have the nuts. God, they're so bad. The tank call is so much more tilting than being snapped off 😂
@@andrewhime7701 I play mostly online so I am always bewildered when I go play live and see how bad they actually are but nothing quite like what I've seen in Texas
Don’t like the all in shove against the lady if we assume the full population. However, seeing how she tanked with a flush, would 100% shove there against her specifically.
That's terrible logic. She tanked because she was playing scared, but she called because she's a fairly amateur player who 'has a flush and just cant fold it'.
@@jakecooper5855 What? It's great logic, it means she's only calling with a flush or better, which she so rarely has. Means the bluff is super profitable on average
It actually was a punt (kind of) all flushes are not folding to any bet, even though she tanked, hands like AX KQ KJ and even 77 - 22 will all fold to a half pot river bet. Going all in created a reverse free roll
