I had an FL-8 for a few years. Then the 18 came out. I upgraded almost immediately. 16 years later I still have it and I'm still on the same battery! Very reliable, I love it!

Stephen Peterson i have the fl-8 as well as the fl-18 I’ll take the fl-8 for when I’m in deep water and I’ll take the fl-18 for when I’m in shallow water.

@@Americangaming63 I would think the opposite! Mostly where i fish the fish are in the bottom 6 feet of water so I love the zoom feature. In shallower water, less than 20 feet, I use the entire dial vs the zoom feature on my fl-8. But otherwise I'm fishing fish that are mainly on the bottom. I have one lake I fish where the fish suspend over deep water, but I still keep the zoom on until I mark something up high. If I ever find an FL-8 for sale for around 100 bucks, I'm picking one up though as a spare! My kids are starting to reach fishing age and are enjoying more and more going out with their dad, even though mom won't go!
