Really enjoyed this episode, especially the journey from learning with his dad, to studying graphic design, to post grad in education. Also great to see the group celebrate Sleeping Dogs! While I agree that children mostly do not have ill will with racial comments (more curiosity, learning, or parental influence), this goes away by the time you hit middle/high school it is definitely done to hurt. Casual racial greetings may not seem like much when grow up with it, but anything that makes a kid feel unwelcome growing up can have long term effects. I do think sometimes the correctness crosses a line, but the intent behind it is valid
Really appreciate this episode! Love Philip! He’s such a nice and humble guy. The only complaint is multiple overlapped talking… and super loud talking from Brian. Can someone just turn down his mic volume? I can hardly hear Philip talking sometimes.
