My brother gave me this same mower. I got it running but it smokes out of the exhaust bad. Definitely oil. Not overfilled.

The gas I used in carb was 2 cycle. The oil help protect the cylinder

I prefer a highly volatile/flammable substance that vaporizes quickly,
and will explode even with a weak spark.
