Brought a greater appreciation for Russ Ballard I only knew of him from the band Argent. I'm going to pull out my Argent albums and give them a listen. Great video, thanks.
Fantastic music history lesson. My faves are "I know there's something going on" and I had no idea that was Frieda from Abba!. Also "Since you been gone," "Winning" and that yacht rocky hit "You can do magic." Such a variety of songs that take me back. Thank you!!
I've been a long time fan of MAGNUM, and on their 1990 album "Goodnight LA" Tony Clarkin, the songwriter for the band teamed up with Ballard to write "Rocking Chair". Totally bostin song. Check out the album! R.I.P. Tony Clarkin. You gave the world so much good music.
I love it! We in the U.S. are woefully unaware of people like Russ Ballard, Cliff Richard, or even Lonnie Donegan, who worked a lot in the U.S. I’m fascinated by the way American music made its way over to England and then came back again during the “invasion,” in turn influencing our rock scene immeasurably. Thanks for the comment!

Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed!
Voices sung by Russ and used in an episode of 'Miami Vice'
Yes!!!! The Calderon episode!
I never heard of him, but I certainly heard those songs! Some really great ones in there. Thanks for bringing him to light.
Thanks, Carol!

What about "Voices", an excellent eerie song. I.played and sang it with our bad and always got an excellent reaction from the crowd.
💯!!! Great song and great use of it in Miami Vice!
He joined Argent in 1969, not 1972.
Ugggghhhhh! Of course, you're right. I can't believe I made that mistake. Thanks for the correction. 1969, not 1972!
I know,-and love, most of his songs.... N.Y. Groove is from the top shelf, though.
Glam perfection.
