    Richard.
    Some really great stuff here. Like several other subscribers, I find these tutorials quite inspiring. Ive been combining the TL+V that you employ here with the Zeapon trigger and a couple of their motors. A really lovely combination once you get your head around the signal flow, Anyway, more videos please, especially to do with night-cap Timelapse's. Ive already found your thoughts around low level lighting completely inspiring!

    For the aperture, why don't we use f1.8 but f2.8, is there a drawback when we use the largest aperture?
    Besides, how can I get the panorama of stars like yours as the stars are trailing. Thank you.

    • @nightscapeimages.richard
      @nightscapeimages.richard  5 років тому +1

      Thanks so much for watching. You can use the lens wide open at f1.8 but it has sharper corners if you stop it down a bit. You need to keep the shutter speed fairly short and the various exposures close together to avoid star trailing in panoramas.

    • @nightscapeimages.richard
      @nightscapeimages.richard  3 роки тому +2

      Thanks for watching. By using the Timelapse Plus View intervalometer the shutter speed changes as the light conditions darkened. The shutter speed and iso are controlled by the intervalometer and it reads the light levels to make automatic adjustments.

    G'day Richard, Beautiful Results mate. Very interested in this interelometer, not heard of it before. Is it a new product? My assumption is this would save you heaps of time in post adjusting the light flickering due to the difference in light as it progresses? Would that be correct? Anyway, that tool really looks good and will do some research on it and understand it better for my needs. Many thanks buddy, your work has inspired me to get myself back into more astro work.

    • @nightscapeimages.richard
      @nightscapeimages.richard  6 років тому +2

      Thanks for the comments Angelo. The Timelapse Plus View is a fairly new product. It certainly does save heaps of time whilst shooting out in the field as it does all the work automatically for you. The lightroom plug in that is available with it is wonderful for taking out the flicker associated with timelapse. You'll notice I left the aperture at f2.8 for the whole time. It is possible to ramp the aperture with the View as well but I haven't done that as yet. I'm glad you are inspired to get back into astro ...!!!

    • @digiteye
      @digiteye 6 років тому

      Pretty interesting as that thing is not yet a product. They take pre-orders for March 2019 shipping. Alright, you've got it early, but at least give your viewers a hint and save their time browsing through the comments section to find out what made the shot possible. Or even give some insight on the device, how it works etc.

      Hi Ken, that's fantastic, you'll love it. I do use LRTimelapse but only to render out the final video from the Lightroom timeline. Question-
    So you plug in all the setting you want the intervalometer to start with and slowly change to?
    How did you get the whole thing sharp at 2.8 if you’re focused on the stars?? For the daytime shots I mean
    Did you start at a higher aperture?

    • @nightscapeimages.richard
      @nightscapeimages.richard  6 років тому +1

      Thanks for watching. For this shot I left the aperture at f2.8 for all the shots. I was far enough away from the trees for them to be sharp at 14mm. The Timelapse plus view cam ramp the aperture as well but I usually don't do that as it will most certainly introduce flicker.

    • @AlexT1212
      @AlexT1212 6 років тому +2
