      I agree. Being from humanity's future, I recall clearly that at the moment of apocalypse, everyone screamed for the welders to save us. I don't recall why exactly, but it had something to with welding something to something else that would have saved everyone but there was no electricity. Alas, that was but one possible future which can now be averted with this technology. I suspect, however, that calamity in the form of either welding rods made of peanut butter or pipe made out of beryllium phosphate will do us in this next time around. But I like the idea of these power cells nonetheless, to power the stills and brewing apparatus. Makes the apocalypse bearable if nothing else.

    Best review yet I've seen on these EcoFlow units, mainly the real world shop testing. The engineering and modular designs on these is quite good, including the panel kits, imho. Good design is always expensive but a 4k investment is substantial for an old geezer on fixed income. Glad that you hooked up with them and did a bang up job testing it for us!!! Thanks Torbjorn always appreciate what you bring to us!

      Generac is instant power, and doesn't require solar power to charge it. I'm assuming you suffered through the polar vortex situation, and the Biden fossil fuels cancellation, which his energy secretary dictated for all natural gas pipelines to be shutdown also, which froze the valves shut, rendering the emergency critical, and people froze to death, and tens of thousands suffered immense property damage also. Fossil fuels are still FAR more reliable, but that battery pack is impressive don't get me wrong, the world just is DECADES away from canceling all fossil fuel energy.

    • @torbjornahman
      @torbjornahman  2 роки тому +17

      Honestly if we were to stop using fossil immediately, I don't think it would take that long to figure out new solutions.

    • @JohnJohnson-bg2oo
      @JohnJohnson-bg2oo 2 роки тому

      @@torbjornahman well, when it costs 22 thousand dollars to replace a battery in an electric vehicle, solar panels drastically lose efficiency in winter weather and constantly need cleaning to provide their 47% efficiency of hydroelectric, and fossil fuels, and windmills have a 10 year service life, and also require fossil fuels in the form of oil and grease to operate, it would be CATASTROPHIC to stop all coal, gas, and oil generated electricity. Plus, there's not heavy equipment powered SOLELY by electricity to mine the LITHIUM to make the batteries anyway, and lithium is getting more scarce by the year. America has the largest oilfields on earth, but a RETARDED corrupt 50 year FAILURE in government and life was RAILROADED in to keep certain world criminals in power, or we wouldn't be seeing the INFLATION rate of historic levels. I don't know the answers, but something more reliable and replaceable the battery powered systems is needed to convince people to convert. 🤷🏿‍♂️

    • @gregdazer8395
      @gregdazer8395 2 роки тому +1

      @@torbjornahman how would you forge without coal? Not to mention these power sources are just batteries. They all take tremendous amounts of fossil fuels and tons of mined minerals to manufacture. If the world stopped fossil fuels all at once people would freak out with no phones or UA-cam. Wind and solar can’t come close to the load that humans require.

    • @torbjornahman
      @torbjornahman  2 роки тому +3

      @@gregdazer8395 For a forge I can use charcoal with no problem, it just more practical with coal as it lasts much longer. Indeed there would be panic, but with panic people will find new solutions :) I'm pretty sure we already have alternatives more or less, it's just a matter of people investing in new tech but very limited amounts of money are actually spent on research like this or on implementation. It's so much easier to keep burning fossil.
