Not a bad value for that one. The professional version is crazy expensive. I have a different one from kickstarter. Might need to get that one. Oh and not sure if you found it to be useful but the angle of the primary grind I find to be useful information don't have an exact on cutting performance but figuring a kitchen chef knife is like 2 degrees shallow angle better slicer through thick material is my theory.
would this device work on micro bevels. Like a Japanese knife that is thinned to the edge and then the primary cutting edge is put on as a micro-bevel. Seems this would only work on those big edge bevels

You can use it with the blade coming from the bottom also.
Makes it much more visible

Please post a link to the laser protractor you purchased. The CANTER models all seem ridiculously priced for what they really do.
@@markandrews1219 Just checked they are on eBay search Laser Knife Edge Reader.
@@BladeBanter thanks for the tip

Try putting the knife handle and your hand behind instead of the front. This way you won't block your view.
Have to buy it from Sheffield UK.
Why not put the knife in from underneath? Then your hand won’t be in the way.
Site link doesn't work BTW.
Can you mesure barber shears ? Can you show us how you do on shears?
What’s the price on this?
I think $150-200 depends on exchange rates, I think since its British they use the pound or sterling
@@Sweetknives did you order straight from Catra?
@@darrenricks8372 Yes, that was the only way that I knew of.
Nice!
🥃cheers🍻
