In case of the characters, Requiem is a soft reboot. Amicia in "Innocence" was a 15 year old, very feminine teenage girl with the graceful body movements of a Ballerina, and Amicia in "Requiem", even tho its only 6 months later, is more a 18 to 20 year old young, lean, more androgyne woman with the grounded, efficient body movements of a female soccer player. The character now is less "sexy" and more practical, which makes her more realistic. Which is fitting, as "Innocence" showed a more idealized and romanticized world (the GFX design emulated paintings), and "Requiem" goes for realism.
@@TheTuubster 6 months is a lot for teenagers. Your personality changes a ton even in a relatively short amount of time like 6 months. Specially given how her life made such a huge turn, her quality of life also probably decreased a lot from being a noble her whole life until the first game takes place, so her appearance is bound to change.

No one changes that much in 6 months. you make the assumption that we were never teenagers ourselves or remember how puberty works. The characters are unrecognisable in the sequel due to the simple reason of artistic choice or creative differences. It wasn't linked with the story, just a soft reboot or reamiging of the characters. The characters significantly aged up in terms of their design/character models. The voice actors gave different performances in the sequel for the same characters because the developers wanted to take the story in a different direction and felt they had to change the characters to do it or rather they wanted to.They even speak with different accents to reflect the different style the developers were going for. For instance if the game was to be remade today like last of us part 1 was remade they would no doubt look more like the character models in the sequel and sound the same for continuity just like how Ellie looks more like her character model for last of us 2 in the last of us part 1 remake than she did in the original. You give them too much credit and make excuses for the developers choices by saying the 6 month time jump justifies the changes. They don't need you to defend them and wouldn’t use the excuses you gave for their choices. The characters didn't have growth spurts. They were reimagined. Redesigned and are practically different characters from what we knew in the first game because of it. Most will overlook it and just enjoy the gameplay which is fine, others will find it jarring and that's okay too.

When watching on smartphone difference seems minimal, butwhen playing it itself on big tv graphics is a night and day, Requiem totally different league especially environment quality is striking!

I feel like the new Amicia has a less feminine shape, they removed the cod piece on her waist and lowered the thing on her back to cover more of her rear.
