He had such a screen presence in Only the Strong. The way he carried himself on screen and his dialogue really made him a memorable character in martial arts films. I always felt he would've been a good Vega in Street Fighter.
Paco is such an underrated actor. He should've got more main roles, as an antagonist as well as a protagonist. He is naturally talented and a very humble person as evident in this interview. In fact, between him and Mark, he is my preferred actor and character in OTS (Don't get wrong. I love Mark's performance too ) Love his accent and style in that movie. Great job in getting this interview with him, Viking Samurai. You never fail to surprise me. Never know who you will pull up next 😄👏👏👏
Silverio, was raw, straight to the point, in your face type villain with no cgi! I’m glad I was born in the mid 80’s, got to witness greatness happen throughout the late 90’s when it came to films… I’m forever thankful for those films I’ve watched growing up! Great humbling experience watching this interview, Paco Prieto "The children are back from the plaaayyygrrround" the way a final boss should be!! Blessings!!
A redemption story for Silverio, teaming up with Dacascos to take on a new breed of street gang/boss, inspiring kids to stay on the path. THAT would be a great story.
@@KICKBOXER27 I respect where you’re coming from, but IRL, felons who’ve committed equally heinous crimes have found God in prison reformed themselves and tried to save others. Anything’s possible.

Man do I appreciate you getting in contact and doing this interview with Paco. I've been looking for info to see what he's been up these days but nothing comes up anywhere. I see why too since he's more focused on his training. Only The Strong was one of my childhood movies I've seen many times and just had a great storyline and message to it. If they ever do a part 2 that will be extremely exciting. Thanks again!!
Such a nice and sympathetic guy, I like him so much in Only the Strong in the role of Silverio, despite the fact that he was the bad guy; it was so authentic in his character :)
I love only the strong the first time I watched it I was 7 years old it popped up on HBO and I keep rewatching it ever sense. It never gets old such a great film. I remember in middle school if someone had a suggestion of a movie to watch in class I said put “Only the strong” and the whole class loved it.
I loved "Only the Strong" that's one of the movies I grew up with. Thank you for this interview. I always wondered whatever happened to Paco. I only remember seeing him in Only the Strong & Lionheart
Viking Samurai, I've never commented on your channel before now but keep up the AWESOME interviews!! Cyborg 1989 is my absolute favorite movie of all time and that poster you had of it made me an instant fan!
I’m a big Paco Prieto fan and you touched on Lion Heart but I think it was a missed opportunity to not ask him about Jungle Law even if the discussion was brief. Nevertheless, this was a great interview, thank you for conducting it.
I can’t even imagine how much Paco and Mark both had to train and work together for some of these rolls. I remember Paco saying that him and Mark we’re exhausted from doing some of these scenes and training but could definitely relax and smoke a Cuban cigar. That must have been a lot of fun
Such a warm guy Paco. After the sequel he needs to be in more movies. Even playing a good guy as a Capoeira teacher training the lead character. Great interview. Awesome job!
MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE VILAIN CHARACTER OF ALL TIME is Paco/Silverio in Only the Strong even to this day!!! Between JCVD (my role model since I was 12, 34 years ago) seeing these two in the same scene in Liohheart was phenomenal!! Paco's performance in Only the Strong was Oscar worthy in my opinion. The basketball scene fight where Paco's in all black, pulls up and kicks Mark Dasacos's rear was the best part of the movie! Still Only the Strong is my favorite non Van Damme film! Paco if your reading this you and JCVD inspired me to the max when I'd go to the gym and crush it. Hope all is well and stay blessed! I think Paco was an underrated actor and should have been in several more films!!
Hes was a great baddie, I never noticed for years that he was the guy in the pool fight scene in lionheart, seems like nice man very respectful shows how good of an actor he was 👌
Paco is such a personality, the dialogue that they give to him on OTS is very cheese, but he have a presence that make everything that come from his mouth like the most important thing ever.
You can tell Paco had some acting and performance skills from before, as his acting was pro level in Only the Strong - Sheldon's direction was also superb as displaying actors in the right light or angle can really make a difference. However it is also like what Van Damme once said, about making your performance great and the best it could be, so it doesn't get messed up in the editing room by an editor who may choose poor shots - Paco's performance was flawless in ONLY THE STRONG. Looking forward to seeing Paco return in the sequel - Maybe they could have a villain that is more powerful than Silverio but with a connection to Silverio, such a connection that Louis Stevens has to team up with Silverio, and they have to find a solution, and maybe they could bring Geoffry Lewis back, he's always great when he works with Sheldon . Great content again from you Viking!!!!

Mr. Prieto makes a good point about film projects being completed based on miracles. I mean you have major big budget motion pictures like Batgirl that was cancelled. So to have a sequel on Only the Strong is going to to take a big commitment. I know they can do it!
