Best of luck for the remainder of development. I already know of one excellent F-Zero pilot who signed up for the test pilot program 🙂 We in the F-Zero community look forward to seeing your game come to fruition.

For a moment I was watching the gameplay and with the fzx music in the background, I actually forgot that I wasn't watching f zero.
I think that alone tells me all I need to know.

Yep, there you go. THIS is what a "F-Zero like" game should actually LOOK like. You can put this next to X or GX and see very similar gameplay.

The game wears F Zero on it's sleeve, but yet it has it has its own style.

My one hope for the visuals is that they add more to the environments. F-Zero X didn't really have many 3D models outside the track bounds, just very basic structures, and while that was the right call for the N64 and allowed the game to run smoother, it always was weird that the tracks were always just in some empty abyss of space. It doesn't have to be GX level of background detail, but I do hope they spice it up in the final game to make it feel like more of an actual world.

Considering some of the commentary from the developer and the fact that the demo is pre-alpha, I'm sure there will be more to look forward to in the environments!

The F-Zero handling is actually more "realistic" than Wipeout, if you build a super sonic hover car in real life, you want it handle like it's on rails, not like a hockey puck.

This game takes inspiration from F-zero, in the kickstarter says that it also took inspiration from other games like Kirby Air Ride, and I can totally see that with the air tunnels, the different way the machine moves on the air feels so very similar to Kirby Air Ride, I love it!

Aero GPX is the game i've been waiting for.
i've literally never once found a future racing game that wasn't just some spin on wipeout controls.
This finally appeals to me and I am all for it.

I think the most Recent F-Zero like (By Nintendo themselves.), is the Speed Racer Movie Game on the Wii. Health is tied partly to boost, the objective is to generate and maintain high Boost, and aside from Car-Fu, is similar to F-Zero in some ways.

Thank you for the warm welcome 💜 It feels good to be back, considering this was my longest gap between uploads. Unfortunately, I've had a lot of real life things that made working on videos difficult, but I'm hoping it won't be tooooo long before my next upload. Comments like these really make my day, so thank you :)

Sigh 3 months late to all of this but...what a promising start. I hope that the dev collaborates with some metal artists to get some instrumental heavy metal blasting as was the case with F-Zero X.
Also, last I checked, a lot of the machines were simple reskins, and I hope the dev takes inspiration from various military vehicles like the SR-71 Blackbird, F-22 Raptor, various Russian jets (Su-27 Flanker and derivatives come to mind), as well as the fictional Ace Combat jets.
I grew up as a kid with the original SNES F-Zero and loved F-Zero X.
I wonder if there's been any update in the last 3 months.

The OST to F-Zero X is legendary.
Honestly I think I'll just emulate X to relive that feeling.
I'll buy this game to support it though. Looks very promising. But nothing will ever surpass my F-Zero X nostalgia.

I'm hoping for tracks that blend with the environment. Much like some of the chapters in F-Zero GX's story. Like in the Red Canyon where you have to watch out for those falling rocks, or during the speed bomb chapter where you have to watch out for traffic. Those racetracks were refreshing compared to the usual floating race tracks you see from the rest of the game

Am I the only one who finds the cylinder sections impossible to properly control on? I don't know if it's my lack of familiarity with f-zero but whenever the cylinders come up I practically just swerve and spin wildly just trying to drive in a straight line or follow the boost pads.
Apart from that I was impressed by the amount of polish on this game and I'm excited for the full release.

If you ever do make a new Anti-Gravity Racing games video, when you show Redout 2, please don't just show low performance vehicles (like everyone else), since it's the fastest racing game to date. (Also yes, it's a lot less slippery then Redout 1).

Aero GPX feels like a cover band of F-Zero instead of forming its own identity. The Achilles heel to this series, if it makes it that long, would be the announcement of a new F-Zero game as Aero GPX reminds me of why I want to go play F-Zero X instead.
I’ll agree, the gameplay is tight, but it doesn’t do anything we haven’t seen before aside from some “tweaks” that can be a mod patch to an existing F-Zero game.
The one thing that might save the series is if they decide to create characters to match the machines and make the tracks distinct from each other instead them all being pink, purple, and grey. The tracks also feel empty like a room that was factory cleaned. It doesn’t have a “lived in” feel to it.
It’s a good video, and I can’t judge too harshly because you stated it was stream of consciousness and excitement can do that, but some of the comparison were without merit. I do enjoy your excitement because maybe I don’t have enough of it clearly.

The tracks are too large it's not even close to how f zero feels like where you got a split of a second to react. Here it's nothing like that

Finally we have a futuristic racing game 100% inspired by F zero without anything inspired from wipeout.
This game is a dream come true, absolutely fantastic.
The only complain is why is there a health bar and a turbo bar ? Only one bar for both please !!

    • @wileecoyotegenius5955
      @wileecoyotegenius5955 Рік тому +6

I thought so at first, but there's a few reasons why I like the separate bars:
      1. Often tracks will make you choose between replenishing health and boost by putting the refill zones on opposite ends of the track, which adds a risk/reward choice element to which one you refill.
      2. There is an advanced technique in this game where by spin attacking on a rail, you can gain a lot of speed but lose a lot of health, so health is still a resource you can spend to go faster. Additionally, the fact they are separate means you can use this tactic and still boost afterwards.
      3. The damage you take on Lap 1 actually matters because you won't be able to refill it if you choose boost instead, unlike F-Zero X and GX where you can almost always recover to a full gauge before Lap 2 regardless of the beating you take.
      4. Aero GPX is very combat focused, and being punished for getting into fights with less boost would be frustrating. Instead, the game rewards you for combat by giving you boost for the foes you kill, again at the cost of the health you lost fighting them, adding to the risk/reward.
