That's wild it was selling for less than $2 a few years ago. I'd buy them up and use them for those Christmas time gift giving things you see at churches.
I've been waiting for an anime Astrotrain since around 1993. I know Ehobby was a first attempt at creating an anime Astrotrain, but they use a sort of pinkish purple instead.
I hope the 40th anniversary retro line will go beyond G1, like Animated and Prime for example. It could also be a chance to release figures that never made it to retail like Animated's unreleased toys. Edit: I spoke to a member of the Transformers team at a Hasbro Pulse panel recently, and they said that the 40th anniversary retro line will only be for G1 figure reissues. However, Legacy will cover the other universes.
The only Transformers toy I owned as a kid was the Micromaster vehicle base with Groundshaker. My brothers had a Micromaster rocket base with Countdown and also the Pretender that turns into a motorcycle and cab. But, I only started collecting a few years ago. The 1st one I bought was core class Legacy Hot Rod, and the 1st deluxe or higher was voyager class Legacy Blaster.
I love blaster and especially soundwave as much as the next guy, but man, they could’ve literally chose any other G1 toy to modernize and it would’ve been better. It seems like soundwave and blaster constantly get remade.
I love G1 reissues but I'm so sick of them releasing the same ones over and over again. It's basically the same small handful of characters in a never ending cycle. I know there are mold issues but give us some different characters for a change.
For the Retro G1 Blaster, there's--at least to me--a huge difference between the previous Retro G1 Blaster and the upcoming one: Cassettes. I didn't want the previous Retro G1 Blaster, because he had NO Cassettes. I'm excited about the upcoming Retro G1 Blaster, because Steeljaw is included with him. I have a Retro G1 Soundwave...so I'm going to wait for him to go on sale. Nothing is really making me excited about the Retro G1 Perceptor. Not even a sticker of incoming Decepticons for his microscope.
Yeah, soundwave came with a cassette and they sold 4 other cassettes separately vs blaster who didn’t get any cassettes it’s no wonder he shelf warmed… He might do better this time around but he’d be even more appealing if he came with two cassettes.
With the release of animated optimus prime coming soon. TF Legacy United should be making the canceled never been released versions of animated jet wing prime and animated-----POWERMASTER OPTIMUS PRIME!!!To Hasbro &Takara/Tomy---PLEASE!!Make it happen.
I got both of the retro reissues and both of the recent ones and honestly for myself, I’m good with what I got. Box looks good but the 40th anniversary logo kinda knocks it down alil but I’m sure many will be excited as they should be.
The feet certainly "look" like they "could" be plastic, but hopefully its just painted. It's hard to believe that they would take a step BACKWARDS like that, especially when we've been getting the die cast parts on the recent "Movie" reissues. Fingers crossed!
Yeahhh... Blaster is definitely gonna shelfwarm like he did last time. If history tells us anything, G1 and Beast Wars reissues almost always go on clearance
The grey on the last Wal-Mart blaster was a tan not grey color as g1 . Was the reason I passed have the MCs and G1 but will get this as the legs are not tan + sw and cassettes. I also really wanted a missing link Soundwave and cassettes .😮
I caught Soundwave when it went on clearance for $15. It sold well at full price the couple of times it was put out. After about the 4th restock, they just sat before they went on clearance. As for Blaster, they sold okay the first go around, but after that they sat. Little by little, they sold, one here, one there, then they went on clearance. By then, there were a couple left and they were beat up and I ended up passing on them. I think I will go for these this time at full price.
I think having Steeljaw and a toon paint job will be the only thing helping move Blaster. But I’m not sure how well the toon G1 figures are selling because Walmart around me have only had Starscream.
Really wish they'd give us some less used molds with the retro series. And yeah, the price is out of control. I'll buy them if i can get them at a discount.
“New packaging, same product…” 😊😊😊 Just kidding, look I hope this appeals to the older G1 fans and those who might see it snd be like I had this as a kid!
It's pointless to ask us what we think because you don't even acknowledge our comments, maybe you don't even read them. It would be appreciated if u did. Thanks

I'm a little disappointed that they couldn't include Ramhorn with Blaster since Soundwave gets two cassettes.
Come on Hasbro.
I really hope this means we will get an anime colored Astrotrain. The Ehobby one is so out of reach, and the color scheme is too beautiful.

You can not find a Soundwave for less than $150 today, even the KO version is $70+. For someone who wants a retro then it is no question.

I’d certainly be down with getting those unreleased TFA toys.
@@YeldellGW Wingblade Optimus Prime, Goldfire Grimlock and Blackout are the ones I'd like to get the most.
Absolutely this! We need an Animated Thundercracker.
I would love Marauder Megatron.
@@perepxThough, I’m doubtful the toolings are still in usable condition.

I’ll wait til it’s on sale… $25 each or nothin. Btw, this 40th year release does have diecast feet.
I’ll take that Soundwave
Missing link sound wave and cassettes ?! Will it happen ?!
What i want to see too
Surprised they didn't just make Missing Link versions of the instead.
Of course we can get that later too.
We just got these about 3 years ago. Can we do something else already???

Use to have encore soundeave but sold it. It think I’m gonna wait for the missing link version of this, however long I have to wait.
Never got any of the reissues of Soundwave because they all sold out. Let alone to find one in the wild.

Did Takara announce any additional releases to their “Missing Link” line?
No

@ryo28mn I would too, the only G1 figures I have are all of the recent reissues lol
If only that were true😢
Why don’t they just reissue all the modern g1 characters in either toy colors or cartoon colors in the classic packaging?
good idea

It looks like there is no die cast especially in the feet
If Blaster's tape deck opens without taking the toy apart to fix it, it ain't no "retro reissue."
I think having Steeljaw and a toon paint job will be the only thing helping move Blaster. But I’m not sure how well the toon G1 figures are selling because Walmart around me have only had Starscream.
So does that mean maybe more cassettes? Hopefully Omega Supreme will be next.
Maybe where the price is low on Sound wave they make it up in Blaster.
This might be their thinking.

That's a shame. I would have loved a classic soundwave, but I dont like this new version at all ...oh well
Wow that Soundwave looks terrible. So cheap looking.
