In my childhood we made up a game like tag-dodgeball (run aroud and try to throw a dnother kid with a ball)
This game teaches some life lessons. What if there is a life and death situation and you have to hide? You will still have those quick reflex skills and in this case to stay alive.

Hide and go seek was terrible. Nobody committed to that game from either side. If I'm it and cant find nobody for five minutes, I'm going home, and if I'm not it, I dont commit to hiding. I'll just stand behind a house to hide, or walk around the block once to find people.

Not one person go look for everyone else though like hide n go seek. In another explanation it's basically predators vs preys .The preys have to try and reach freedom a.k.a what we call base . You have to do your best to hide from the opposing side and then try to run to base when you feel like you have an opportunity while no ones watching and or near . Instead ... The people I know ... We just make it more crazy and act dumb by going on roofs ...

The summer of 2007, 08, & 09 that’s all we played at daycare 😭 Went to the water park & not enough towels “let’s play red rover, that’ll dry em’ off before we get on the bus”. When we went to the public gymnasium & had to wait for the other daycare to finish their basketball game, we had to play red rover. When the little kids had to take a nap, big kids go outside & line up on 2 teams. Hide n Seek. I still play that with the kids. And manhunt is for the stronghearted lololol at night outside- it starts to feel real🤣. But when I was younger we played a game we made (I think) called Stampede. It wasnt until I was older that I realized it was highly dangerous. The game is what it says it is. One kid is chosen, they know theyre chosen, and unless u can run u didnt really want to be chosen but the lure of being chased made u enjoy the idea at first. You play at a park or place with enough obstacles to slow the stampede down. Everyone spreads out pretending to do whatever and the chosen one does what they want until the leader shouts STAMPEDE! Then the leader starts out in a jog that picks up speed the more the rest of the kids join the stampede and you chase the chosen kid literally until you jump on them and i guess kind of run them over (we would stop the stampede before ALL the kids ran the kid over) The first to cause them to fall is the new chosen kid. It was pretty cool cuz we always had many kids so the sound of the stampede was loud, intimidating, and shook the ground with such force. It didnt seem that dangerous when we were kids, but I see now the danger of it all.
Manhunt is the best Childhood game. It was the ultimate mix of H&S , Red Rover, & Tag. The Kid Cardio was on 1000%💪😂😂
