@ 6:12 The fins and the magnet on the magnetron works on the same principal as the vacuum tube when it is energized electrons will flow from the anode to the cathode. In short, it changes electrical current to radiation.

$20 worth of copper? I seriously doubt that unless your scrap yard is paying 5 X + what mine is paying! I wish that was true.
Idk about copper but the transformer itself can sell for about $20 on eBay
@@doggollamaman It might bring $20 now, price has gone way up since I posted that comment! I went to the scrap yard the other day and #1 clean copper was bringing $3.97 a pound.
My daughter washed the microwave out with the sink sprayer and now it won't turn on. Any suggestions?
Did you check the outlet first to see if the GFCI outlet in the kitchen didn't blow?
