2160p 4K HD!
A mega compilation I've put together of Freight Trains, Engineering Trains & Locomotive Movements caught on camera over the last few years. During the pandemic the Railway has played a more vital role transporting goods & cargo across the UK. In this 65 minute long video you will see non stop action from a mix of diesel & electric locomotives doing their thing hauling Freight, filmed from all over the UK from a variety of locations.
The main workhorse these days of British Rail Freight is of course the class 66. The 66's will show up just about anywhere so there is undoubtedly a huge amount of class 66's featured, operated by various operators in many colourful liveries.
Other than the class 66's, look out for the now retired Freightliner class 86 electrics. Usually seen working in pairs up & down the WCML & GEML.
ALSO FEATURED: Class 59's, 90's, 56's, 70's, 88's, 68's, 37's, 47's, Royal Mail Class 325's & more!
All footage taken was filmed over the course of the pandemic. 2020 to early 2022.
The clips shown are in no particular order.
Sit back, turn up the volume & enjoy over an hour of British Freight Trains & Locomotives in action.
Thanks for watching this video!

Love watching these rail freight trains. My last house I lived in, I used to hear the rail freight trains really early in the morning.
I don't live far away from the Leicester to Birmingham line and can hear the freight trains going through in the middle of the night
The freight trains are so cool
American watching in terror at the sheer awesome speed of UK freight trains 😁 😁
Fantastic footage! This makes me want to go train watching in the UK 😁
As an American train fan who has taken a lot of interest in British trains over the years, I must say that Freightliner, EWS, and all the rest of these companies do it well especially with those speeds!
Yes, they have to keep out of the way of passenger trains on the same routes. The passenger trains often scheduled at 125 mph running so the freight mainly at 70 mph but on electrified lines up to 90 mph.
Yeah And GB RailFreight is my personal favourite
Well At 5:12
This has to be the best railfreight video I've ever seen , especially the Class 68 in the snow at 3:39. Cheers!
That's a class 88
@@Rowan66109 I stand corrected. Thanks.
Very cool!! I go up and down in the United Kingdom and class 66’s are very common my favourite is the 90’s 😊
Great stuff to watch before going to bed
The British engines may not be as powerful as the American engines or the freight trains as long as American trains, but they do move fast.
Freight in the UK is more limited by structures, distance between signals / junctions etc than by engine power. Due to the number of passenger trains that run, and in a smaller area, they need to run faster or they’d disrupt people travelling too.
They have to be small, and fast to keep out the way of the high speed trains as well as normal passenger services, there isn’t room for slow lumbering long container trains
Those 66s are American, built by GM.
Sounds like a sports car.
Correction, Canadian built , well the first batches were. Check out Class 69 which are rebuilt 56s with US innards.@@jimmyhillschin9987
I gotta say your camera work is superb! So many people on YT who have loads videos but they're shaky as hell and erratic on the zoom.
But your work is excellent sir! Nice and steady, controlled and well planned zooms and your panning is excellent too.
One thing I did notice on this video is the older stock is often double or even triple headed. Is this to do with the reliability aspect or the case that many of the horses may have escaped from their engines over the years?
Since I was a toddler I used to be scared of freight trains because of the look and sound
Yeah they're pretty noisy buggers. I found them exciting as a kid! Still do 🤣
Groovy baby
First class presentation. Take care.
Amazing video, awesome images with cargo trains! MEGA Thumbs Up
Greetings from Dublin

Love a bit of freight.
Me too
Trains are cool no matter where they’re from
Very good footage, I enjoyed it, thankyou!
Great railway compilation video as always
just what I am looking for as my interest jn freight trains increases! thanks!
Great and beautiful! Love it!
Just brilliant.
Amazing video
Nice video!! Grettings from spain
Jaw dropping! Seeing thought’s rail fright’s in action is awesome
Nice
great train video train information would be nice location. time, route code, start point end destination to help other train enthusiasts
Is the triple 86 container train rare because no one really uses 86s anymore
Great videos. Question. I haven’t seen any 53 foot shipping containers.
At First: Great video, good footage. 👍
Second: What is happend in the UK? Cause at least 85% of the footage shows intermodal-unittrains, hauled by Class 66s. Is there no more mixed freight traffic?
Very little or no mixed freight these days. Most trains are scheduled services from docks to inland distribution points, quarries to building distribution points, waste/trash collection to incineration plants and the famous Tesco trains from their central warehouse near Northampton up to Scotland to fill the shelves of their big supermarket chain. I suppose intermodal trains are the mixed freight of today carrying stuff in boxes. The car trains from the mini factory in Oxford go straight onto the docks in Southampton where teams of drivers run them into car carriers as though it were the Le Mans 24 hour race!
5:37 to 6:20 🔥🔥🔥
Amazing video. Could I ask what location you were at to be able to see the Royal mail train?
At which time point in the video?
@@TrainPlaneHub At 14:25
What are the spraying cars in some of these train units please? They have a C66 at each end
These are Rail Head Treatment Trains, they spray high pressure water onto the rails to stop autumnal leaves causing delays. Lots of these trains have Class 37s working each end.
Wow
I'm a big fan of Class66 (I'm French)
What happened ? 16:35
That train is a RHTT. Rail Head Treatment Train. Nothing happened, it’s sprays chemicals on the tracks to clean them & clear leaves off the line during autumn / fall.
@@TrainPlaneHub ok, because I thought that a brake was dead :)
The British freight trains are much shorter than in the US, one thing I noticed.
Britain is smaller than the US in many ways
Some strange looking locomotives in the UK, they resemble buses.
Flat front construction was always popular in Europe.
6:43 How come there's a Diesel named City of Truro? There's a famous steam engine named that.
Because Truro is a city.
@@cmdrquillon9398 You don't say.
It's just odd to me to see another engine named after that city. I would quote a certain meme, but I'm kinda fed up with that one, so I won't.
@@RoseSupreme Ah, I see. My mistake, I misunderstood what you said. Yeah, I can see how it's a little odd but I suppose there are only so many cities to name locomotives and MUs after.
4:41 What Freightlner is that?
Class 86
33:23
A lot quieter then US trains….😮
😂🎉

I don't understand why people zoom in when the engine/train has gone past. It spoils the shot imo. This video is about freight trains so why zoom in on the loco
