Damn that dude ate it hard, that's a prime example to wear your gear if you're commuting, because dealing with the sweating is a lot better than getting messed up in a fall for sure. The one way you can actually tell if they're a real cop for all the SUV's is that when they're all sold to police departments they will never install the roof rack for luggage. Awesome video man, I've always wondered what it's like in NYC, you definitely have to keep your head on a swivel with that crazy traffic lol.

Thanks for watching the video and welcome to the channel Manuel, I appreciate your support! The throttle I use was nicknamed "Polish Throttle" since it was first used on the Namis in Poland. I bought it from my local scooter shop but you can get them from people in the official Nami Facebook group. Just search the group for "polish throttle" and it should give you some leads for your search. It might also be easier to get in France because you guys have some of the best electric scooter shops! I love my throttle because it allows you to maintain full grip on the handlebars. The harder you accelerate the better your grip becomes because of the throttle style! I like having both of my controls on the left because its more natural for me to operate the buttons with my non throttle hand. I don't want to accidentally accelerate using the turn turn signals in its original position! I love my Nami and it's the best scooter I've ridden! Nami has a huge group in France, are you a member of their group?
As an ex-STROMER ST1 speedbike user, I'm now switching gears for my daily commutes (train+ e-scooter) and opting for a NAMI Burn E, all based on the excellent advice from my local dealer. For me, the scooter is a necessary step. The train company doesn't allow bicycles from 6:00 to 8:00 in the morning (scooters are fine). While I'm not currently a member of the Nami group in France, I'm working closely with my local dealer to potentially form a team for some exciting rides. The purchase of the Nami is scheduled for August 29th, and honestly, I can't wait to be on that "flying carpet." In my opinion, it's truly the perfect compromise, and since I'm not aiming for high speeds, I believe this scooter will more than meet my expectations and fulfill my needs for multi-modal commuting. That crash was so unexpected, thank goodness he had a helmet on. Really sucks that the driver got away which is literally a crime (hit and run) and breaking 2 traffic laws (failure to signal, running a red). I don’t think I’ll ever want to ride a small and slow PEV in traffic after seeing many crashes. A safe PEV is a medium-large PEV with many safety features like hydraulic brakes and even being peppy enough to divert from the path of a car.
Yea man, I didn’t see that coming. To be honest, I always thought it was bound to happen seeing him almost every day. He’s quite aggressive with his maneuvering even tho I feel like he’s in his own world not paying attention. But regardless, it was an ass move for the driver to not even check on the guy after breaking 2 laws 😅 It’s crazy that our safest options are the ones are the most legally gray lol.

Hey Ivan! Absolutely love this kind of videos, I would suggest a few things to make it even more immersive ) 1. Leave signal stops in the video to preserve the flow. Those impatient can skip, this in an immersion video not a thrill one, right? 2. Use 50/60 frame rate, otherwise at your speeds the picture starts to tear a bit ) 3. A one stop(step?) higher level of ambient sound, it would be nice to hear more from the things around. Your trip commentary is perfect in terms of words amount and emotion, keep it steady ) Thanks!
Thanks for the input Vredda. I was actually thinking of keeping the stops like I used to in my original videos. I felt that it broke the immersion for those trying to get that pov riding experience. The x3 is limited with the frame rates we can use at the highest resolution, I do have it scheduled to move up to the max for the videos I’m recording going forward. Now that there’s more light when I’m riding, I can use some cameras HDR abilities so the image isn’t as blown out. As for the sound I’m not sure if I can capture more ambient noise with my current set up. Maybe in the future I’ll be able to capture better sound with a better mic set up. As I do more of these and get better at recording and editing, my goal is to get to a more polished final product! Thanks for coming along on the journey.

Hey Prine Floyd, thank you for your kind words. I appreciate ya. Lately I’ve been shooting in Log color and I do all the color correction during the editing. I have sharpness on high and everything else is on auto. I’m not very savvy with camera settings so I let it do all the work lol. On the x3 I shoot in 5.7k and on the One RS I shoot in 4k. I have about an hour and 15 minutes to record per battery. On long rides like the group ride, I have the battery bases attached to an external battery pack so they charge while I ride. I know that hook up the battery pack directly their GoPro but I can’t do it because it shows up in the shot. Hope this helps! Safe riding out there man 👊🏼👊🏼

Thanks for watching and welcome to the channel Jay! The thing with the Burn E is it requires a balanced riding posture to minimize the wobble. I used to get it quite a bit in the first 300 miles. By the time I got to 2000+ miles, I was riding at full speed without a damper. Full disclosure, the damper was on there but it was broken and leaked out all its fluid lol. I was riding most of my miles with a non functioning damper.
@@eyebahnrides Oh I see, I’ve only had the Nami for about 80 miles now. I have tried to ride it in different positions and I guess your are right because twice I was able to get up to 45mph before the wobble kicked in. I even swapped tires for PMT which it did make a major difference in the ride so that’s a plus. It would be nice to know what is the correct way to position myself because seriously these wobbles are extremely scary.

Originally, I used to do it so that I can filter my way past the cars and past the pedestrians if the roads are quieter. As a NYer, it takes alot for us to not be cussing every other sentence but I try really hard not to in my videos because I want everyone to be able to enjoy it. It's sad how often the van situation happens in NYC. If you watch my video that says Rush Hour is Dangerous, you'll see a crash happen because a rider got cut off. That's why I always preach ride aggressively but also defensively. I had a bad feeling about the van and I listened to my gut. If I were blasting it, it would've been much worse and the driver and I wouldn't be laughing it off =(. Congratulations on your new Scooter! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I know it's sounds like overkill, but I always encourage everyone to wear full protection when riding these high performance scooters. At the end of the day, they are performance vehicles and we should be prepared for the worst case scenario. I'm not a fan of looking like a robot ninja, so I wear armored shirts that are lined with kevlar and have CE2 protection on the elbows/forearms, shoulders, and back. The shirt actually saved me from a broken arm today because I crashed while on my Esk8. That's the second time this shirt has protected me in a crash! I appreciate the feedback on the TSG. Many seem to suggest a full face helmet on these unique scooters and the TSG looked attractive because of the weight aspect of it. When you’re speaking during the rides it’s the most authentic way to do it in my humble opinion plus the scenery is fun too. It would be fun to do an electric bike meet here on the west coast in SoCal but I don’t know anything about that. Going forward, my commute videos are going to get crazier and crazier with traffic lol. About the angry guy that fell, I agree. There are a few times in the video that I noticed he was unstable when slowing down/stopping. I personally wouldn't ride in the city until I was comfortable stopping, dismounting, and can perform defensive maneuvers. Thanks for watching the video! In addition to the helmet, gloves, and goggles, I generally wear some sort of body armor thats lined with kevlar and have CE1 or CE2 elbow/shoulder/ back pads. Since I don't want to look like the White Ranger, I wear armored shirts/ jackets. For the most part I wear my BeyondRiders Summer Mesh in the Summer/Spring/ Fall. In the Winter, I wear my LazyRolling Reflective Jacket. But I will change into regular winter jackets when it gets too cold. @@mansingw you’re welcome! Thats a bit of a ride to FiDi so it helps to have it. There are cheaper options but I don’t like the look of having the pads on exposed. I prefer being able to throw the padded shirts on top of my suit jacket or dress shirt. On hotter days I just keep my jacket in my backpack and I wear the mesh padding on top of my shirt and tie. Just got a Burn e2 max and love the sine wave controllers. For an experienced rider, its easy to just jump on and figure out how to ride it. My last scooter was a Weped gt50e which i learned to love, but the throttle was all or nothing all the time lol
Congrats on your new BE2Max! The sine wave controllers are incredible and I hope it becomes an industry standard. The last time I tried a Weped, it was pretty rough to control in the city because it was balls to the wall all the time. The last thing I want is that front end getting away from me on our unpredictable roads.

@@cocoabiscuits this is my first scooter with a thumb throttle. I wish it was a better quality part and located in a slightly different position. It is still tricky to throttle without doing burnouts, but much easier to control than some scooters in the past. I like the dead spot, as it is a bit forgiving if you bump it on accident. I also wouldn't be surprised if there was some performance variability in the throttle from scooter to scooter, as the part is so damn cheaply made

I live in Brooklyn and was thinking about this scooter. I have an inokim ox now which can go 30ish and has a good range. The one thing about the burn e holding me back is the weight. If it starts pouring, there’s no way to carry this down the stairs to get on a train.

Loading it into my small sedan or lifting it on to a stool at home so I can make adjustments is a pain! The good news is the IP rating is something you can really believe and you can just ride in the rain. I've ridden through light rain and really wet roads, but I try to avoid downpours. I know people have said they've basically ridden through "hurricane conditions" in the forums, but I personally think it's a miserable experience riding in heavier rain lol. I did it once on my EUC and never again!
@@eyebahnrides I tried once in light rain and got soaked. If it starts raining, I hop on the subway but not many have elevators. I’m trying to find something that can do 40mph with a real world range of 30-36 miles and under 60 lbs. do you know of anything ?
@@uria702 To be honest I can't think of anything that I would trust. I'm sure there are options "on paper" but I'm pretty picky when it comes to trusting these things in my home. The only one close that I've ridden is the Nami Klima. Its 40+, you'll get 30-40 miles of range with highspeed city riding, and you'll get an IP rated scooter. The only catch is its 70something lbs. If you have time, I recommend checking out my long range video on the Klima. Just keep in mind I'm over 200lb in the video. If you're lighter than me your performance will be better. ua-cam.com/video/kPP0DZRMJA0/v-deo.html I rode it in beautiful warm weather, however, my commute home was wet as hell in true NYC fashion lol. I believe I did a 20 mile round trip commute on that one. It would've been around 30 miles if it the roads weren't crazy wet.

NGL, I get a little tense sometimes watching you ride in that madness. It doesn't help that we can't see into the distance through that camera as well as you can in person, or that I watch all YT content at 2x speed, but you still have enough close calls at speed that it's not a matter of "if", but more likely "when". Be safe out there brother...

Can’t tell you how many times I’ve had those close call on queens Blvd but I’ve learned to always be on the defensive with cars. Never roll up in their blind spot at an intersection.
Absolutely. I’ve had those issues on Queens Blvd and Northern Blvd. Even after watching that portion a few times during editing, it still makes me cringe 🫣
@@marcb2raw agreed. I see him quite often and he rides recklessly and with low awareness of what’s around him. I feel bad for what happened to him but that’s what happens when they both try to beat a red light.
Never try passing on far right or far left on a turn. He rode right up next to and into the cars blind spot. Be patient. Wait for the car to make there turn. I see it a lot in videos and they complain about the car. Not the cars fault. You’re supposed to ride with flow of traffic. Behind the vehicle in front of you. Lane split in the middle. Pass on the far sides only when traffic stopped or when there are no turns. Vehicle ahead has the right away. Silly electric ride, riders
man, im new to the PEV world and love mine. But man, riding on a left side bike lane would freak me out. the left turning vehicle crash risk is so high!

Thinking of getting this or the Teverun Blade GT 2 plus. They cost nearly the same price, blade top speed is 85km/hr and bigger 11" wheels. Not sure wgich 1 to get...thoughts anyone?
thanks for watching this video Jace. I don't know much about Teverun but I hear that they deliver great performance for their price. The scooter I'm riding in this video was my old Nami Burn E and would have a similar 11 inch tire set up as the GT2Plus. Based on what I've read online, the biggest differences are the Burn E runs on a 72v system, has a higher top speed, and higher IP rating than the GT2+. I've never ridden a Teverun before but I can confidently say that the Burn E has one of the best power delivery, ride comfort, and reliablilty in all conditions. That Burn E was with me for years and I wouldn't have given it up if I didn't have issues with my building.

Since it's a stand up electric scooter technically it is, however, it's also not because its 1 lb over the weight limit. As long as you're not being a total ass and menace to society, the cops tend to leave you alone. They actually are more curious than anything else. I heard from one of my other subscribers that it's a political mess there for the scooters, I hope they legalize them soon. On the other hand, we're at a tipping point in NYC. I'm not worried about their legality. I'm more worried about the landlords banning them from the homes because of the fires caused by irresponsible owners.

Thanks for watching the video and welcome to the channel! I think you may have the Burn E and Burn E2 mixed up. The scooter in the video is the original Burn E which has a top speed of 60. It’s equivalent to the E2 Max. The new Burn E2 has the smaller motors/ controllers so it tops out at 45. Hope this helps!

It left such an impression on me that I ended up buying it 2 weeks after the test ride even though I already owned a Mantis 10 lol. I sold my Mantis as soon as this came in!
Lol, ya I'm glad I don't have to navigate that kind of madness. The worst thing I usually have to deal with is tons of roundabouts. I wish that guy who got side swiped a quick recovery. NYPD should give rewards for dashcam footage like that, like they do for parking violations. The collision aside, I absolutely hate people who don't signal. It is fundamental to traffic safety and car transportation would collapse if everyone just stopped doing it. In my opinion if someone's brain can't comprehend that, they shouldn't be driving. @@topwitness1416 it’s quite a short commute on the scooter. I can generally cover the distance in under 20 minutes despite the traffic. My longest commute route is around 15 miles one way and it’s not that bad. It depends on the 25 miles. 25 miles through NYC sounds like a pain in the 🍑. 25 miles through less congested roads on nature, sounds amazing. The only thing you may want to consider for that type of commute is getting a seat installed to give your legs a rest. Scootering is quite taxing on your legs.
If I had to count how many times I got side swiped buy a car, truck and bus. I'd run out of space to write. My only advice is to try and follow the cars movement, by that I mean if that situation happens make that turn with him that way the driver will see you.
Hey Nick, thanks for watching and chiming in. I agree with you. Defensive riding and assuming that the driver is an ass is the best way to ride. Folks have told me I should be more aggressively because of the scooter that I have, however, I don’t because I don’t want to put myself in unnecessary danger.
@@eyebahnrides For me I have the Wolf King GT and even though I have the power, the drivers around me out weight me by a lot.The only good advice I can give, is to use the torque to create a space gap between the rider and the driver and lane filter where applicable. I always assume that the driver cannot see me and act accordingly. Ride safe

I especially avoid it around pedestrians and riders in the bike lanes because their reactions can be quite unpredictable. I do use it quite a bit when riding in with traffic since it requires more to get the attention of drivers!

Hey Bruno, thanks for watching the video and welcome back! You're 100% correct. I tell this to anyone that I meet that's new to commuting with a PEV. Always assume that they don't see you, always assume that something is going to jump out at you, always assume someone is going to do dumb stuff, and always stay 1000% focused so that you can react defensively to any of the situations. Unfortunately, despite all that, there are times you won't be able to avoid it. However, that guy that crashed in the video could've totally avoided that if he wasn't so reckless.

It didn’t look like the car actually made contact with that rider. I think they just fell, and based on their general presentation and lack riding skill it was bound to happen sooner or later.
You’re right. I’ve seen him for weeks being quite reckless despite being quite unstable on the scooter. Since they were both running the red, they were both unprepared for that encounter and the scooter guy doesn’t have enough experience to make a proper defensive maneuver. I hope going forward he learns don’t ride in someone’s blind spot and to be more cautious. People tell me I should be more aggressive all the time because of my scooter but I like that I make home in one piece most of the time lol
@@eyebahnrides and you made the right choice, tailgating cars like the segway guy is not a good way to start your day commuting to work. The car driver probably didn't even hear or see the rider crashing in his blind spot because of no contact. The segway rider had time to manoeuvre, but instead he put his foot down and tumbled. He also rode on the sidewalk just 10 seconds before, cause he didn't want to wait for 5 seconds to pass. Those acts in traffic will only gain you a few seconds, which will be lost in the next red light. People should be cautious in traffic jams, no matter if on a nami or a simple scooter. By the way, correct me if i am wrong, your average speed was about 19 mph which isn't a lot faster than a typical scooter would do, (mostly because of the traffic jam). People should consider that.
@@vagker2550 You're correct. My average speed on the Nami is usually around 18-20 mph because of traffic and speed restrictions. I could, technically, get that average up way higher by riding recklessly (running reds at full speeds and blasting through congested bike lanes) but I don't think saving a few minutes on my commute is worth getting hurt/ hurting someone in the process. I do wish that some of these people would ride more defensively and assume that no one sees or hears you. I
I've never been to east coast, but for all I've seen, it's just pointless go there. West coast is so much better for pretty much everything. Maybe Florida for holidays

Hey Biscuits, thanks for watching. You're absolutely right, some people's confidence far exceeds their abilities lol. When it was newer and I was a lighter fellow I used to hit 60 more often. Now that its been almost 2 years of owning the Nami and I'm a few pounds heavier, the fastest I've done is 57-58. I've also recorded a 60mph on the GPS via the relive app about a month ago but it's not consistent.

Police tend to wait at the end of the bridge in order to try an catch any of the illegal mopeds and edirtbikes that are operating in the bike lane. They're trying to crack down on those things on our streets

Damn that dude ate it hard, that's a prime example to wear your gear if you're commuting, because dealing with the sweating is a lot better than getting messed up in a fall for sure. The one way you can actually tell if they're a real cop for all the SUV's is that when they're all sold to police departments they will never install the roof rack for luggage. Awesome video man, I've always wondered what it's like in NYC, you definitely have to keep your head on a swivel with that crazy traffic lol.

The throttle I use was nicknamed "Polish Throttle" since it was first used on the Namis in Poland. I bought it from my local scooter shop but you can get them from people in the official Nami Facebook group. Just search the group for "polish throttle" and it should give you some leads for your search. It might also be easier to get in France because you guys have some of the best electric scooter shops! I love my throttle because it allows you to maintain full grip on the handlebars. The harder you accelerate the better your grip becomes because of the throttle style!
I like having both of my controls on the left because its more natural for me to operate the buttons with my non throttle hand. I don't want to accidentally accelerate using the turn turn signals in its original position!
I love my Nami and it's the best scooter I've ridden! Nami has a huge group in France, are you a member of their group?
As an ex-STROMER ST1 speedbike user, I'm now switching gears for my daily commutes (train+ e-scooter) and opting for a NAMI Burn E, all based on the excellent advice from my local dealer.
For me, the scooter is a necessary step. The train company doesn't allow bicycles from 6:00 to 8:00 in the morning (scooters are fine).
While I'm not currently a member of the Nami group in France, I'm working closely with my local dealer to potentially form a team for some exciting rides.
The purchase of the Nami is scheduled for August 29th, and honestly, I can't wait to be on that "flying carpet." In my opinion, it's truly the perfect compromise, and since I'm not aiming for high speeds, I believe this scooter will more than meet my expectations and fulfill my needs for multi-modal commuting. Thanks again for the info on the Polish throttle!

I really like them because the wider shape gives me good visibility. They're a bit pricier but I like that it's got good clarity and the glare isn't as bad as some of the plastic options.

If a man drives carefully, does not needlessly provoke the police, is wearing a helmet and is visible, he can ride with impunity. But thanks to many idiots driving under the influence of alcohol, violating traffic laws, or being culpable in traffic accidents, a mandatory driver's license, registration of electric scooters and liability are planned from next year. So, next year, even the good guys won't be riding. 🙈 😕

That crash was so unexpected, thank goodness he had a helmet on. Really sucks that the driver got away which is literally a crime (hit and run) and breaking 2 traffic laws (failure to signal, running a red). I don’t think I’ll ever want to ride a small and slow PEV in traffic after seeing many crashes. A safe PEV is a medium-large PEV with many safety features like hydraulic brakes and even being peppy enough to divert from the path of a car.

However, in this video I still had the original steering aluminum steering column. At 2000 miles, I also upgraded a few things on the scooter. 1. Leave signal stops in the video to preserve the flow. Those impatient can skip, this in an immersion video not a thrill one, right?
2. Use 50/60 frame rate, otherwise at your speeds the picture starts to tear a bit )
3. A one stop(step?) higher level of ambient sound, it would be nice to hear more from the things around.
Your trip commentary is perfect in terms of words amount and emotion, keep it steady )

Thanks for the input Vredda. I was actually thinking of keeping the stops like I used to in my original videos. I felt that it broke the immersion for those trying to get that pov riding experience. The x3 is limited with the frame rates we can use at the highest resolution, I do have it scheduled to move up to the max for the videos I’m recording going forward. Now that there’s more light when I’m riding, I can use some cameras HDR abilities so the image isn’t as blown out. As for the sound I’m not sure if I can capture more ambient noise with my current set up. Maybe in the future I’ll be able to capture better sound with a better mic set up.
As I do more of these and get better at recording and editing, my goal is to get to a more polished final product! Thanks for coming along on the journey.

Hey Prine Floyd, thank you for your kind words. I appreciate ya. Lately I’ve been shooting in Log color and I do all the color correction during the editing. I have sharpness on high and everything else is on auto. I’m not very savvy with camera settings so I let it do all the work lol. On the x3 I shoot in 5.7k and on the One RS I shoot in 4k. I have about an hour and 15 minutes to record per battery. On long rides like the group ride, I have the battery bases attached to an external battery pack so they charge while I ride. I know that hook up the battery pack directly their GoPro but I can’t do it because it shows up in the shot.

Good video. I see you go past 50 with no wobbles, for me I can’t pass 42mph without getting wobble. Have you ever experienced this?
Thanks for watching and welcome to the channel Jay! The thing with the Burn E is it requires a balanced riding posture to minimize the wobble. I used to get it quite a bit in the first 300 miles. By the time I got to 2000+ miles, I was riding at full speed without a damper. Full disclosure, the damper was on there but it was broken and leaked out all its fluid lol. I was riding most of my miles with a non functioning damper.
@@eyebahnrides Oh I see, I’ve only had the Nami for about 80 miles now. I have tried to ride it in different positions and I guess your are right because twice I was able to get up to 45mph before the wobble kicked in. I even swapped tires for PMT which it did make a major difference in the ride so that’s a plus. It would be nice to know what is the correct way to position myself because seriously these wobbles are extremely scary.

Originally, I used to do it so that I can filter my way past the cars and past the pedestrians if the roads are quieter. If it's really heavy congested rush hour, I'll filter my way as far up as I can and stop there.

As a NYer, it takes alot for us to not be cussing every other sentence but I try really hard not to in my videos because I want everyone to be able to enjoy it. It's sad how often the van situation happens in NYC. If you watch my video that says Rush Hour is Dangerous, you'll see a crash happen because a rider got cut off. That's why I always preach ride aggressively but also defensively. I had a bad feeling about the van and I listened to my gut. If I were blasting it, it would've been much worse and the driver and I wouldn't be laughing it off =(.
Congratulations on your new Scooter! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I know it's sounds like overkill, but I always encourage everyone to wear full protection when riding these high performance scooters. At the end of the day, they are performance vehicles and we should be prepared for the worst case scenario. I'm not a fan of looking like a robot ninja, so I wear armored shirts that are lined with kevlar and have CE2 protection on the elbows/forearms, shoulders, and back. The shirt actually saved me from a broken arm today because I crashed while on my Esk8. That's the second time this shirt has protected me in a crash! I haven't done a TSG Pass Pro review yet. I do like the helmet alot (especially the way that it looks) but it does have its pros and cons.
Pros: looks cool, light, amazing FOV, warm in the winter, and is rated for higher speeds than most helmets because its a DownHill Skateboard helmet.
Cons: Visor is a scratch magnet, not the best airflow so it can hot inside, not DOT certified, and it costs alot.
I'll probably do a helmet and gear video in the future. But I hope this helps for now.

I’ll definitely look at the clothing safety aspects and use the code. Still learning what I don’t know about this so your videos have definitely been educational. I appreciate the feedback on the TSG. Many seem to suggest a full face helmet on these unique scooters and the TSG looked attractive because of the weight aspect of it. The link has an unusual layout so if I have any question I’ll just ask you but I’ll go through your link in more detail. When you’re speaking during the rides it’s the most authentic way to do it in my humble opinion plus the scenery is fun too. It would be fun to do an electric bike meet here on the west coast in SoCal but I don’t know anything about that. Fluid has the Klima Max’s on preorder at the moment, so I’ll just wait and watch your videos in the meantime. These riding videos are relaxing to watch. Going forward, my commute videos are going to get crazier and crazier with traffic lol. About the angry guy that fell, I agree. There are a few times in the video that I noticed he was unstable when slowing down/stopping. I personally wouldn't ride in the city until I was comfortable stopping, dismounting, and can perform defensive maneuvers. For example, I didn't ride the Nami into work until I got about 100 street miles (160km) of experience with it.

What protective gear do you ride with? Other than the helmet, gloves and goggles.
Thanks for watching the video! In addition to the helmet, gloves, and goggles, I generally wear some sort of body armor thats lined with kevlar and have CE1 or CE2 elbow/shoulder/ back pads. Since I don't want to look like the White Ranger, I wear armored shirts/ jackets. For the most part I wear my BeyondRiders Summer Mesh in the Summer/Spring/ Fall. In the Winter, I wear my LazyRolling Reflective Jacket. But I will change into regular winter jackets when it gets too cold.

@@mansingw you’re welcome! Thats a bit of a ride to FiDi so it helps to have it. There are cheaper options but I don’t like the look of having the pads on exposed. I prefer being able to throw the padded shirts on top of my suit jacket or dress shirt. On hotter days I just keep my jacket in my backpack and I wear the mesh padding on top of my shirt and tie. Just got a Burn e2 max and love the sine wave controllers. For an experienced rider, its easy to just jump on and figure out how to ride it. My last scooter was a Weped gt50e which i learned to love, but the throttle was all or nothing all the time lol
Congrats on your new BE2Max! The sine wave controllers are incredible and I hope it becomes an industry standard. The last time I tried a Weped, it was pretty rough to control in the city because it was balls to the wall all the time. The last thing I want is that front end getting away from me on our unpredictable roads.

After waiting 3 years for a RION that never came (I'm one of the suckers that got scammed), it's nice to have a 50 mph scooter again. Coming from a Currus Panther, Wolf 11+.... Cheers!

I almost fell for the RION hype a few years ago. A buddy of mine talked me out of it and I'm glad that he did. The horror stories I hear about all the waiting and the lack of support once you get it is crazy.
@@myplaxismodelisbetterthanyours the thumb throttle is tricky for me but i'm also new to pevs. For me the dead spot on the throttle gives me the all or nothing feel on the NBE2 Max i recently bought.
@@cocoabiscuits this is my first scooter with a thumb throttle. I wish it was a better quality part and located in a slightly different position. It is still tricky to throttle without doing burnouts, but much easier to control than some scooters in the past. I like the dead spot, as it is a bit forgiving if you bump it on accident. I also wouldn't be surprised if there was some performance variability in the throttle from scooter to scooter, as the part is so damn cheaply made

Hey Alex, I use a throttle that’s been nicknamed “polish throttle” by the Nami community. Check with chuck at FFR BK to see if he knows anyone that’s selling it. If not, check with the Nami group on FB!

Hi TreeBark, I learned about the throttle in the Nami FB group. The group called it the “Polish Throttle”. My contact at the local FluidFreeRide shot knew someone in NYC that sold them, and I bought it from that person. I think there’s. Guy that sells them in the FB group.

Now im going to get a used nami burne2 not the max version that has less than 1000km on it. Im rlly excited to try it out this weekend
I live in Brooklyn and was thinking about this scooter. I have an inokim ox now which can go 30ish and has a good range. The one thing about the burn e holding me back is the weight. If it starts pouring, there’s no way to carry this down the stairs to get on a train.

Loading it into my small sedan or lifting it on to a stool at home so I can make adjustments is a pain! The good news is the IP rating is something you can really believe and you can just ride in the rain. I've ridden through light rain and really wet roads, but I try to avoid downpours. I know people have said they've basically ridden through "hurricane conditions" in the forums, but I personally think it's a miserable experience riding in heavier rain lol. I did it once on my EUC and never again!

@@uria702 To be honest I can't think of anything that I would trust. I'm sure there are options "on paper" but I'm pretty picky when it comes to trusting these things in my home. The only one close that I've ridden is the Nami Klima. Its 40+, you'll get 30-40 miles of range with highspeed city riding, and you'll get an IP rated scooter. The only catch is its 70something lbs. If you have time, I recommend checking out my long range video on the Klima. Just keep in mind I'm over 200lb in the video. If you're lighter than me your performance will be better.

I rode it in beautiful warm weather, however, my commute home was wet as hell in true NYC fashion lol. I believe I did a 20 mile round trip commute on that one. It would've been around 30 miles if it the roads weren't crazy wet.

NGL, I get a little tense sometimes watching you ride in that madness. It doesn't help that we can't see into the distance through that camera as well as you can in person, or that I watch all YT content at 2x speed, but you still have enough close calls at speed that it's not a matter of "if", but more likely "when".

Can’t tell you how many times I’ve had those close call on queens Blvd but I’ve learned to always be on the defensive with cars. Never roll up in their blind spot at an intersection.

Never try passing on far right or far left on a turn. He rode right up next to and into the cars blind spot. Be patient. Wait for the car to make there turn. I see it a lot in videos and they complain about the car. Not the cars fault. You’re supposed to ride with flow of traffic. Behind the vehicle in front of you. Lane split in the middle. Pass on the far sides only when traffic stopped or when there are no turns. Vehicle ahead has the right away. Silly electric ride, riders
man, im new to the PEV world and love mine. But man, riding on a left side bike lane would freak me out. the left turning vehicle crash risk is so high!

Thinking of getting this or the Teverun Blade GT 2 plus. They cost nearly the same price, blade top speed is 85km/hr and bigger 11" wheels. Not sure wgich 1 to get...thoughts anyone?
thanks for watching this video Jace. I don't know much about Teverun but I hear that they deliver great performance for their price. The scooter I'm riding in this video was my old Nami Burn E and would have a similar 11 inch tire set up as the GT2Plus. Based on what I've read online, the biggest differences are the Burn E runs on a 72v system, has a higher top speed, and higher IP rating than the GT2+. I've never ridden a Teverun before but I can confidently say that the Burn E has one of the best power delivery, ride comfort, and reliablilty in all conditions. That Burn E was with me for years and I wouldn't have given it up if I didn't have issues with my building.

Since it's a stand up electric scooter technically it is, however, it's also not because its 1 lb over the weight limit. As long as you're not being a total ass and menace to society, the cops tend to leave you alone. They actually are more curious than anything else. I heard from one of my other subscribers that it's a political mess there for the scooters, I hope they legalize them soon. On the other hand, we're at a tipping point in NYC. I'm not worried about their legality. I'm more worried about the landlords banning them from the homes because of the fires caused by irresponsible owners.

Thanks for watching the video and welcome to the channel! I think you may have the Burn E and Burn E2 mixed up. The scooter in the video is the original Burn E which has a top speed of 60. It’s equivalent to the E2 Max. The new Burn E2 has the smaller motors/ controllers so it tops out at 45.

I wish that guy who got side swiped a quick recovery. NYPD should give rewards for dashcam footage like that, like they do for parking violations.
The collision aside, I absolutely hate people who don't signal. It is fundamental to traffic safety and car transportation would collapse if everyone just stopped doing it. In my opinion if someone's brain can't comprehend that, they shouldn't be driving.

I hope so too. There were people that rushed him off to the side but he seemed ok and made his way over under his own power. Just a completely ass move on the drivers part for not even stopping to check on him. I get their both “in the wrong” for trying to blast through the changing light, but you gotta pull over and sort that out.
I agree. It pisses me off when I see it on my PEV or when I’m driving. It just seems more and more people don’t care to learn the rules of the road 😓

@@eyebahnrides oh wow, sounds mild distance. I’m struggling with my intention of daily commute. Do you think 25 miles to each way is toooooo long?
@@topwitness1416 it’s quite a short commute on the scooter. I can generally cover the distance in under 20 minutes despite the traffic. My longest commute route is around 15 miles one way and it’s not that bad.
It depends on the 25 miles. 25 miles through NYC sounds like a pain in the 🍑. 25 miles through less congested roads on nature, sounds amazing. The only thing you may want to consider for that type of commute is getting a seat installed to give your legs a rest. Scootering is quite taxing on your legs.
If I had to count how many times I got side swiped buy a car, truck and bus. I'd run out of space to write. My only advice is to try and follow the cars movement, by that I mean if that situation happens make that turn with him that way the driver will see you.
Hey Nick, thanks for watching and chiming in. I agree with you. Defensive riding and assuming that the driver is an ass is the best way to ride. Folks have told me I should be more aggressively because of the scooter that I have, however, I don’t because I don’t want to put myself in unnecessary danger.
@@eyebahnrides For me I have the Wolf King GT and even though I have the power, the drivers around me out weight me by a lot.The only good advice I can give, is to use the torque to create a space gap between the rider and the driver and lane filter where applicable. I always assume that the driver cannot see me and act accordingly. Ride safe

I especially avoid it around pedestrians and riders in the bike lanes because their reactions can be quite unpredictable. I do use it quite a bit when riding in with traffic since it requires more to get the attention of drivers!

I think the thing that adds to my confusion is the design of the roads lol. It also looks like the pedestrians are much more unaware over there than they are here lol

Hey Bruno, thanks for watching the video and welcome back! You're 100% correct. I tell this to anyone that I meet that's new to commuting with a PEV. Always assume that they don't see you, always assume that something is going to jump out at you, always assume someone is going to do dumb stuff, and always stay 1000% focused so that you can react defensively to any of the situations. Unfortunately, despite all that, there are times you won't be able to avoid it. However, that guy that crashed in the video could've totally avoided that if he wasn't so reckless.

It’s crazy how the guy just drove off and didn’t even check in on the guy he hit. Freaking sickening… I get they’re both in the wrong and running the red light but damn…
It didn’t look like the car actually made contact with that rider. I think they just fell, and based on their general presentation and lack riding skill it was bound to happen sooner or later.
You’re right. I’ve seen him for weeks being quite reckless despite being quite unstable on the scooter. Since they were both running the red, they were both unprepared for that encounter and the scooter guy doesn’t have enough experience to make a proper defensive maneuver.
I hope going forward he learns don’t ride in someone’s blind spot and to be more cautious. People tell me I should be more aggressive all the time because of my scooter but I like that I make home in one piece most of the time lol
@@eyebahnrides and you made the right choice, tailgating cars like the segway guy is not a good way to start your day commuting to work. The car driver probably didn't even hear or see the rider crashing in his blind spot because of no contact. The segway rider had time to manoeuvre, but instead he put his foot down and tumbled. He also rode on the sidewalk just 10 seconds before, cause he didn't want to wait for 5 seconds to pass. Those acts in traffic will only gain you a few seconds, which will be lost in the next red light. People should be cautious in traffic jams, no matter if on a nami or a simple scooter. By the way, correct me if i am wrong, your average speed was about 19 mph which isn't a lot faster than a typical scooter would do, (mostly because of the traffic jam). People should consider that.
@@vagker2550 You're correct. My average speed on the Nami is usually around 18-20 mph because of traffic and speed restrictions. I could, technically, get that average up way higher by riding recklessly (running reds at full speeds and blasting through congested bike lanes) but I don't think saving a few minutes on my commute is worth getting hurt/ hurting someone in the process.
I do wish that some of these people would ride more defensively and assume that no one sees or hears you. I

As a longtime NYer, I can say that it's a love hate relationship with the city. However, thats how I felt in LA and DC when I used to go there often for work.

Hey Biscuits, thanks for watching. You're absolutely right, some people's confidence far exceeds their abilities lol. When it was newer and I was a lighter fellow I used to hit 60 more often. Now that its been almost 2 years of owning the Nami and I'm a few pounds heavier, the fastest I've done is 57-58. I've also recorded a 60mph on the GPS via the relive app about a month ago but it's not consistent.

I saw this guy riding almost everyday because we commute at the same time and he's gotten more and more reckless despite still being quite unstable on the road. 100% agree you have to be completely aware at all times especially in a city like NYC where everything is trying to kill you lol.

People or no people, don't do 30 in a bike lane. Others don't know what you're doing and it gives scooter riders a bad name. And you don't know if someone is about to suddenly step into it from nowhere.

Police tend to wait at the end of the bridge in order to try an catch any of the illegal mopeds and edirtbikes that are operating in the bike lane. They're trying to crack down on those things on our streets

thanks for joining us on one of the OG full commute videos! That guy definitely needed more practice. I saw him everyday for almost 3 weeks riding recklessly beyond his skill level. He was cutting vehicles off and flying on the sideway that whole time. Honestly, it was only a matter of time before anything happened to him. I get that we all have places to go, but don't be a jerk about it
