11:48 "we haven't found tech yet" he says when the technology tab is visible on the same screen, it's the middle one of the three research categories the game is quite cluttered, so it is understandable that he can't find it or remember unlocking it
"Do we have anything that boosts that?" Always a good question, and with the Scholar and Surged glyphs, the answer is always "Yes". Modify any spell (that's at least level 1) with either modifier, and its type becomes Psionic or Storm, each of which have plenty of nice buffs. Scholar is especially good at leveling up new spells; Psychic Blast gives a substantial bonus to spell XP, which stacks with the Scholar modifier, and it also makes Psionic spells more powerful, which makes it quite passable as a general purpose buff.
Alchemy really powers up later on. If you focus on it a bit, they can produce 100x your resource cap or more, which can be very useful. Also, get Psionic Forging spell as soon as you can, its very, very powerful. it gives a lot of Mental power, which means things research/level up faster, and it increases mental resource quality which makes them worth more (cheaper upgrades) and echo builds (upgrades for free). Speaking of Echo, Echo casting is increadibly handy. It automatically recasts a spell. Secretly though, it lets you use multiple channeled spells at the same time. Condense time is probably the single most powerful spell in the game, but its channeled. Normally if you cast any spells at all, it ends prematurely. However, when a spell ends by any means except you canceling it, it has a chance to Echo cast and reactivate. so if you cast a channeled spell, and then cast a 2nd one, the first one will end, but it can then echo cast for free afterwards resulting in both channeld spells being activated. You can get Echoing up to near 100%, causing spells to echo cast 10-20 times in a row.
Fascinating to see how radically different Wander's progress through the game is to my own. Can't wait for when they start to *really* optimize their spellbooks and research specs
It is! At one point I'd gotten way ahead of him except somehow hadn't unlocked beams/paper efficiency 😂 What you decide to research also really changes how it opens up as I had a bunch in spark and space and Wander hadn't yet. In a bit of a bottleneck now as trying to fully open potions/alchemy
Well this is a neat game to be introduced to. I find myself really liking the Extended glyph so far. Popping it on a charm or two then letting the extra length build up a stack of buffs to a whole set is just _lovely_ Or putting it on the first craft hammer of a pair, so they run out at about the same time, for that matter. EDIT: Oh, and a tip for anyone else: Using the Shift and Control Keys will set purchase quantities to x5 and Max quantity, respectively. A la RTS queues. Found that out by complete accident.
Something I found to be really useful is having one loadout full of Cookies, and another full of Cubes. If ever you need bountiful quantities of mental attributes, simply make a few cookies, switch to the cubes to turbocharge your maximums, then chow down for maximum effect.

I picked up the game yesterday and its fun, you been showing me a lot of games i like recently, i stoped watching for a while but recently youtube recomended you to me again and i been enjoying your content again nice to see you havent changed your style since i last watched you
Having a multiplayer with this would be sick. Imagine working to manage resources between two people or even a whole group, each dividing their attention into using different trees and managing resources. Id imagine how it would work is you combine orbs to be able to combine the progress of upgrade paths, slightly lowering or upping based on each persons progress, with both resources being combined into one menu. This would mean resources would be divided between the two people, but ultimately your progress is boosted by 2x for evrrything you do based on level and influence you evoke on each other. In fact, lets make that a resource which can be ysed to upgrade your various co-operative skills. Lets call it *influence* For instance, if you combine orbs with a lower level player, they would be able to gain higher resources to level up, but you would gain more influence to use on the co op tree, which will then eventually filter out into your regular upgrades much like how most of the gane works now. You could use your influence to create systems that automatically manage your upgrades or filter in extra resources generated into your partner or into said systems of auto-upgrade. Even if you disconnect, youll both come out with better upgrades to both your ganes by more well managed systems, abd in the case of high level vs low level, the low level will focus on upgrading their current set of resources which will help the high level player manage those earlier concepts, and the low level players benefit from the latent advancement of whatever future upgrades they will gain by getting an extra boost until they catch up! In the case of even leveled players, you just help each other out with managing resources! ♥ It seems fun to me and i hope i didnt drag on with this explanation and i hope people find this concept as interesting as i do.
I will agree that there are so many upgrades that I just end up grabbing random stuff which leads me to moving way slower than I should be, plus I don't even realy know what the good spells are lol
the spells that have invisible requirements you are missing usually means you need another spell to unlock it. There is one arcanum spell (that is pretty bad IMO) that requires another much higher level arcanum spell that you certainly will not have when you otherwise gain access to the first one.
I did the same thing last year. I was moving across the country right as this came out, so I stopped at a computer store and picked up a decent gaming laptop to record a series on it.
I like this game cos it has like a "story" to play troght . In cookies clicker you make cookies to make more cookies. In orb you make more mana to create a world from.nothing but magic
I kind of wish you could rearrange where the attributes are so you could group them by what they do. Like all the cap expanders on one tab etc Edit, also mana forge doesn't help with thaumic scrolls
Mana forge helps with thaumic scrolls, mana forge have two effects, one buffs building resources gain(things like wood), which didn't help with thaumic scrolls, but the second effect buffs crafting power, which buffs every single crafting recipe.
Will wait for this version to get out of beta, hit 2 bugs that made it unplayable for me. Max number of concepts will not update when i get new ones (stuck at only able to research at size 2), and my construction is stuck deep in the negatives after concept task completed. but loving your video of it
Concepts size is not a bug, you need to research Improved study(technology) to up the size cap, almost everything needs to be researched if you want to use it on this update Not sure about construction stuck in negatives, check research and concepte, some can drain way more than you can make.
@@kahn6287 Thank you, for some reason I did not see Improved study when I did the search (it was there, but I did not 'see' it). And found the other issue, it was way to many trees being cut.
Honestly spark needs to change. Its the only resource with an inherent negative gain modifer and it makes it more more annoying to deal woth than the other resources
Spark is a huge issue until you get midway through alchemy, and then it becomes a total non-issue. I think it's current implantation is fine, even if it feels bad for the longest time the payoff is worth it.
Personally, I like the way spark is. From a top down view I appreciate that it helps with the sense that every resource is meaningfully distinct, but more than that it feels like Spark, specifically, is the resource that most exists to push you to make a dedicated loadout for farming it when and where you need it. For most of the game I've had a spellbook with a growing set of spark and storm charms whenever I wanted a set of Spark developments, and I liked how things got only more complete as I added potions and equipment to that setup to make it ever moreso.

to be fair, global search is supposed to help you find anything you're confused about, but he did not know that it wasn't a type of attribute

If @Wanderbots reads this, gaining Thaumic Scrolls is not a Paper thing but an Energetic thing from a Reflective Concept.
Thaumic Scrolls is still paper(Parchment type to be exact), it is not Energetic type, it's Magic type so Magic Learning will make it
kinda ridiculous that you can just generate a bunch of resources that are otherwise harder to get using the learning stuff
Oh look, I've now got a Psychic Banjo.
also Overdriving alchemy (more then youre mastery lvl ) cost ALOT more resources (you still have it set on max when clicked making potions)
