Dearest Danheim, I've never left a comment on any UA-cam video before; so, tonight will be a first for me. I would just like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your passion to create music that not only soothes one's ears, but calms one's heart. I've been struggling a lot with my health recently to the point where I get constant panic attacks. However, listening to your music (especially "Temple of Odin") has once again brought me inner peace. I cannot thank you enough for this. Skål, mín bróðir!

@@kevziro No, luckily for me I don't consume any caffeine. It was due to a lingering illness. However, both the issues pertaining to my mental health and work-related burnout obviously exacerbated the situation.

Odin , in this poem, underwent a process to achieve a power that was mostly common to the feminine. The three wyrdds who operated from the pool of Urd had the secret to magic and the runes by which magic was manifested into the world. It was to this effect that Odin sacrificed himself to himself, to gain knowledge of the runic magic. The power to change reality. Volvas were the weavers of Seidr (magic) in which they weaved alterations into the web of reality to bring about desired change. They were female. The fact that Odin took on a role of the feminine showed he was indeed the all father. In Viking society it was very odd for a man to have knowledge of the runes although in modern depictions it is a man. Not unheard of but it was more common it was for a Volva to fill this role. If I recall correctly, pool of Urd lies at the bottom of Yygdrasil, the world tree and whose branches hold the nine realms. So to gain this knowledge to weave upon the web of reality is to have power over the nine realms. Their sustenance comes from pool of Urd which is the water source for Yygdrasil. In this context he is the All father. If I recall correctly :).

Odin had had 2 ravens: Hugin and Munin. They brought him news from both the human world and the world of the Gods They flew out in the morning to return in the evening to report to Odin.

I wish I have some type of Norse heritage . I'm Latino, the Mythology here is very different Tezcatlipoca, Quetzalcoatl, Tlaloc are between the main Gods. We don't have tales of Ancients Battles, neither spears or hammers, just maces. As an outsider, I can just delight learning about this ancient culture
Most of the stories the ancient mesoamericans had, were permanently removed by the invasions that happened a while after 90% of the populace died to the diseases brought by the spanish, as part of cultural warfare. There are no traces of any kind of story of a hero, like the greeks had with hercules, the romans had with heracles, the norse with thor, etc. most likely to prevent any kind of heroic ressurection of morale against the invaders. if u were into ancient mesoamerican mythology, you would know this, and not have some heathen lecture you on your own cultural heritage. The cultural background and spiritual belief system of the people you descend from has been largely removed from existence. That being said, their understanding of sound and accompanying architecture is completely unmatched to this day. And the aztec death whistle is the creepiest thing that ever struck awe into me.

There are 4 or 5 blonde haired warriors dancing and chanting around a fire, the night before they commit themselves to the ways of the Ulfhednar. They drink ale, and smoke magical herbs from the east, they prepare there minds for the ravenous ways of the wolf, the they gather around and pass a blade to each other after each one makes an incision on his palm. As the blood drops to the frozen pine needled ground, they raise there hands and put them together forming a bond that will secure there loyalty and partnership. They all howl at the moon as if there inner spirits have always known this time would come. They are the Ulfhednar, they will stay in the wilderness until they are summoned for battle, and willingly prepared to die in the front lines of the shield wall.

I'm half and half. My father is polish and my mother is Norwegian. Slavs have paganism very similar to Norse pagans. The gods are just different names and slightly different qualities. Be proud brother the Vikings used to be scared and run from the Slavic warriors If you didn't know (;
