Jack Walker I'm not sensitive and whiny: on one hand you have a mediocre pop song with stupid lyrics, a cheesy and seasoned beat (generic 80's stuff in 1991, the year of Grunge) and just a good vocal performance as a redeeming factor; on the other hand you have some cool sophisti-pop that - while not a novelty - was amazingly original for the contest, succesfully combined carribean atmosphere with some Monkesque avant-guardie vocal rendition, and sang by a vocalist able to actually give weight to the beautiful words she was telling. Even in their own genre, they're not even comparable: it's a forced 6 vs a full 8.

It has to be said that Anders Berglund played the hell out of the RAI orchestra! Impressive beat for a live performance without baking tape. He was probably as tired as the dancers at the end of these glorious three minutes.
I have rewatched the 1991 contest more times than I care to admit, and watching Anders Berglund is honestly always a joy, he was so enthusiastic about what they were doing throughout the whole night and imo you can see he truly believed in the victory! Besides, the orchestra wasn't well-rehearsed so it must have been even harder - and not to mention the audio failure that happened during the performance :"

Carola is one of the greatest swedish singers of all time. This was in her best years. Actually I belive she lost the stage sound(monitors) almost the whole song. It did not effect her much, really amazing when you observe live performances anno 2021, who are helpless without their earpieces. Though I do not agree with her vibrato, I really do love Carola, this is coming from a hard core rockn`roll guy. Great upload, thanks!!

True. But with that said, she was on vocal rest in 06 after touring a lot. She also had an infection on her vocal chords, so not completely fair. I have seen her live like 25 times. She was in great vocal shape last year during her summer tour in Sweden.
