yeah- the 'seat belt reminder' 'chime'- when we began to be 'confined' within our own vehicles - by law. Now you can't buy one with a lighter, ash tray, or decent cup holders...🤣
Tough to find a good Director of Photography like you've got! I love how enthusiastic she is about working with dad. My daughter is 15 - it's truly astounding how fast time gets away.
Great to see your kids involved. Mine are all grown but we STILL mess with cars together. Disappointed that you didn't crank the Skynyrd tape during the burnout though!
With how complete that car is with all the documentation and how well it runs did you ever find out why it was abandoned for so many years? I hope to see more of this project in the future it looks great.
Yeah, its come up really cool. I think you should get that rust done, then paint it silver, again. It'll look fantastic with an interior fix. I'm sure it'll get the looks, or pass it on to someone that'll rebuild it. I like it. 👍
Just started watching your channel and I gotta say, I’m enjoying what your doing immensely. Really good to see your daughter getting involved as well. I hope she stays interested. Great content. 👍👍
Loved the transformation. I use to hate these when I was a kid but now I love them. I love anything 80's now. And I absolutly love your relationship with your daughter. Involving her in what your doing will mold her into a great woman. Such a great father. And shes adorable, very smart.
It's so good to see your daughter not only helping you but so enthusiastic about an old car keep up the hard work on the car mate I'm here in the UK watching with interest to see now you both get on with the rolling restorations
I Love that you have your daughter with you and involved with your project '78 Nova! ❤😊 I just found your channel by accident as it came across my UA-cam and I enjoy watching these types of "will it run" projects! So now I'm subscribed to your channel and I see many videos that I'm sure I'll enjoy watching. This I'd the 3rd video this afternoon on your Nova project I've watching! Keep up the good work my friend Retired police officer from LAPD living full time in the Philippines 🇵🇭 in Bacolod City! Take care and God bless you and your family. 😊
torq trust is my favorite rim for any old school great choice. love that the little lady is willing to learn and get her hands dirty helping her dad. love the content. 👍👍👍
I had a 78 Nova in high school. Came with a straight 6 and we swapped in numerous motors. I have to say the most fun we had was with the 305 4 barrel that I got from a truck in the junk yard. The rear spring perch came through the floor on the driver side due to rust and the car got scrapped. Have fun with it!!!
Thanks for the memories. My first car at 17 was a 1975 Chevrolet Nova Custom (powder blue). Loved it. Had a 6cyl that was bullet proof. I drove it through high school. Then all through college. And a few years after that. Had 180k miles on it before I traded it in on a new 1985 S10 Blazer. It was a great car. Lots of good memories.
Hey Guy's, I just wanted to say. Thank You for filming this video and restoration of the Nova. I personally owned 2 Chevy Nova's. The 1st. Was a 1972 Nova, then a 1976. I really loved them both. Their awesome car's, when you put some love and time in them. My 72 was Midnight Black, with clear lacquer hand rubbed into it. With Gold door guards and Gold Pinstripes. It was an beautiful beast. Thank You and urge Daughter for bringing back so many memories. Definitely looking forward to seeing more videos on this Nova.
Great videos Great family support I'm really impressed to see parents teaching their children great values in life I've started seeing this in other videos as well, it brings hope for the younger generation I have the up most respect for you all. Keep up the good work and Gods Blessings be with you always
Tommy Lee you're as bad ass my friends when we bring home project car.......No Gloves!!! 🙈🙈🙈 I bothers me seeing anyone dump the trash of an old car with out using gloves. 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂
Not a bad end result for $500 and just the elbow grease and time invested so far. I like it and find no fault in it as it is. Good bonding project for you and the eager to learn daughter.
My nova was the 1976, 4 door concourse model, for our large family. It was lemon yellow on the outside, crime scene red on the inside. We got it driving up to 160 mph. Rear wheel drive,is the best! Ours had side pipes,it was sweet!!
Taking me back to years past fooling with discarded cars with my Daughter. Our Nova was a 64 four door. Towed it home, drove it for 10 years, it saw 14 states and climbed Mt. Washington. She named it Rusty Whitesteed. Her first grade class had to do a presentation describing a process. Amanda described plastigaging bearings, torqueing fasteners and the importance of clearances and oil film. Her teacher was flabbergasted. That's not a hanging caliper, it's a rare factory optional line lock.
Take the seats out and clean under them. My best friend from elementary school his Dad gave him a 1976 Move 2dr blue I'm not sure if it had the 305 like yours or a 289. That was a good old car. I love watching you and your daughter work on it together. Reminds me of when my daughter was that age. Keep up the good work Dad.
Car brings back a lot of child hood memories. My cousin had a nova like that but it was a luxury model lol black with black vinyl roof red pinstripe red interior and fully loaded in the inside. It was a nice car back then
Watched for the Nova (I have one too) and subbed for the young lady who knows about hypnotizing headliner. Great videos, sir, and wonderful family interaction. Please keep them coming!
I love this Nova my father had a 76 in this orange/red color that looked perfect on it we put swivel seats from a olds custom and it looked amazing. You should really fix it up
My town police dept in the late 70's ran police package Novas, 305's dual exhaust. With the suspension upgrade they handled like go carts. Real quick too.
You could put Torque Thrust rims on a Yugo and they'd look great. That car is coming along fantastic. My son went to kindergarten with a girl named Carly who could be her exact twin. Same great personality. Keep up the good work on this great Nova.
Cool car. My parents owned in the mid 80's, a brown '76 Nova Hatchback. Had the 6 cylinder, and well over 200,000 miles. Base model, no options. It had the full hubcaps and vynal seats. AM radio. The door frames would always break and had to constantly be welded back. It was retired and sold, without the battery in summer 1988 for $75. Getting rusty. Parents got rid of the old Nova for a new 1988 Mercury Sable. Recently found that old Nova in a junkyard that didn't ever crush anything.
I just got my dads 76 Nova Concours, we've had it since 1984! Was his daily driver for a handful of years and he always had a want to make it into a hot rod, already had a nice 350 in it that was above average in the power department, but not too much. My sisters and I all learned to drive in it. At some point he parked it and it had sat for about 15 years. He started tinkering on it again but it's ultimately just been sitting. His health isn't great and I convinced him to let me take it over. I'm no mechanic even by accident, so most of the work will need to be done in a shop I'm afraid, but it's most of the way mechanically sound and I want someone to go over it before I start learning on it (in my mid 40s...) Sentimental car for sure so I want it taken care of. Glad to see you were able to drive it with front brakes. My Dad wanted to drive it as the rear part of the master cylinder was empty of fluid. I was not for that at all but he said the front should be just good enough to get it from his house to mine...I want to try bleeding the brakes first and see if we can have better brakes...Anyway, your video is motivating! Looking forward to see what you've done with this 2 years later!
You bought this from my sister. Good to see you getting it back on the road. Unfortunately, my dad's health wouldn't allow him to restore it. Good job!
We call that the one wheel peel , Lol My Dad had his own auto shop when i was growing up & had me out there doing the same that you are doing with your kids at about 7 or 8 years old , Look like you power washed every ware but not the trunk , Also you might wanna take out the back seat & let it dry out real good or you could have mold & mildew grow under there , It takes so long to dry in that spot with water running down under in all the cracks , Plus who knows what kind of goodies you might find under there , I think it will run real good once you change all the fluids with a full tune up , Keep up all the great work with the kids & cars.
Build sheets were left, under the seat Springs, they usually are shot because the spring rusts right through the paper, usually can find a really nice one, between the trunk floor and the gas tank. Those are usually the ones you want, because they're in the best condition. I actually found one under the front passenger side carpet where the floor pitches up, right by the blower assembly, and I've actually also found one under the middle speaker, underneath the dashboard.
My advice... get it mechanically right and safe. Put a windshield in it. Maybe try to get the ac working. It looks great with it’s scars. Keep it stock and drive it. That actually would have been a great car when new . Great video
To save some money on cleaning supplies, a bleach and water solution sprayed on the lichen and mold will work better than the spray foam. I use a pump up garden sprayer and mix 50-50. Spray it on, let it sit a couple minutes, the mold starts turning red. Spray again, then rinse completely.
Yea i watch the video with you and sleeper dude i love watching car videos im a chavy man to i lived in calhoun about15 year's ago i live in Florida now anyway just wanted to let you no that so keep up the good work and keep on keeping on
Good job saving vehicle, not many left like that, they might want to pull the rear seat & sweet if any trash under it. That's an real father teaching his daughter some values.
I'd say make it a sleeper, a wolf in sheep's clothing. fix the body up but keep the patina. The mid to late 70's Novas are great starter cars with lots of potential with plenty motor and trans options to put in them along with big blocks for future performance upgrades!
Those are HD jumper cables!! Friends Dad had a pair like that about twelve feet long, asked where he got them? Said he made them. This was in the early seventies when I was wrenching on those types of cars.
It's always a joy to see Carlee jumping right into the madness and helping you out. She is definitely being raised right.
I have the same car I drove in highschool I still have it 1976 nova
Warms my heart to see Dad and little daughter interact so greatly together.!!
18:57 The "no idea" is the OEM door buzzer that would drive everyone crazy if the door opened while the key was in the ignition.
Just what I was thinking. Somebody got sick of the buzzer and yanked it.
That is the ONLY part on any car that will never fail!
yeah- the 'seat belt reminder' 'chime'- when we began to be 'confined' within our own vehicles - by law.
Now you can't buy one with a lighter, ash tray, or decent cup holders...🤣
@@johndenton5555 and the gov can shut it off any time they want.
Love the way you involved your daughter,my daughter is 23 now. Enjoy these times it flies byyyyyy.🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽 many blessings.
This thing looks killer ! The rim tire combo looks good I look forward to seeing more videos on this rig
Nova deserves little bit more love . Awesome how you and ur daughter works together . 👍👍
Your daughter is adorable. Nice that you spend time together

Great video. Super great little helper you have there. She did a great job.
Nice seeing a Nova revival.
Yeah, its come up really cool. I think you should get that rust done, then paint it silver, again. It'll look fantastic with an interior fix. I'm sure it'll get the looks, or pass it on to someone that'll rebuild it. I like it. 👍

Awesome video very satisfying watching the transformation, also the memories with your little girl which are priceless. God Bless Thank you.
It's starting to look like your daughter might be falling in love with this nova.

Your little helper is a natural.
Really enjoyed the video.
A couple of floor patches and a boot seal and window fixed. Great driver.
torq trust is my favorite rim for any old school great choice. love that the little lady is willing to learn and get her hands dirty helping her dad. love the content. 👍👍👍
I think you and your daughter should restore that car together. It would make an awesome first car for her. She would cherish that car forever.
I had a 78 Nova in high school. Came with a straight 6 and we swapped in numerous motors. I have to say the most fun we had was with the 305 4 barrel that I got from a truck in the junk yard. Looks like a good candidate for a rustoleum roller paint job
Nice to see a true American car on the road again.
Thanks for the memories. My first car at 17 was a 1975 Chevrolet Nova Custom (powder blue). Loved it. Had a 6cyl that was bullet proof. I drove it through high school. Then all through college. Carlee loves spending time with her Dad.
The old Nova cleaned up, nice to see your daughter involved with it.
How great for you to include Carle with you work. A very lovely young lady and thanks for saving another piece of history,
Great videos
Great family support
I'm really impressed to see parents teaching their children great values in life
I've started seeing this in other videos as well, it brings hope for the younger generation

It's a great seeing a kid to jump in and help. Good job parenting.

Awesome! My Carmine Red interior on my 79 Stepside looked the same. A trip to TJ, and the sarape blanket transformation was amazing!
Nice job you two, car looks great!! Should be a very nice daily once you get it tuned up.
Keep it,it's a classic that slot of people would love to have. Also a collectors car.
Taking me back to years past fooling with discarded cars with my Daughter. Our Nova was a 64 four door. Towed it home, drove it for 10 years, it saw 14 states and climbed Mt. Washington. She named it Rusty Whitesteed.

A lot of the 70s early 80s cars had similar headliners. I remember the "hypnotizing headliner" in plymouth volares.
You are the co star. We all know who's starring in this here.
Fantastic car hope you keep her, great to see your daughter so interested in cars. Keep the videos coming.
Car brings back a lot of child hood memories. My cousin had a nova like that but it was a luxury model lol black with black vinyl roof red pinstripe red interior and fully loaded in the inside. It was a nice car back then
Dude I am so impressed with how you brought this old "Jewel" back to life kudo's to you
That car has had a rougher life than a bedspring in an hourly hotel room!
Awsome job will keep follow see what proyect will come out 🤜🏾🤛🏻💪🏾🙏🏾bless
That’s cool you got a good car very happy for you
Love that car, one of the best videos so far
A good start on a Late Model Rat Rod!
White, red combo hard to beat on those classics
Great videos and the best time lapse music on UA-cam!!!
Those wheels DID make a huge difference. I don't normally love that body style Nova, but with those wheels I actually like it.
Watched for the Nova (I have one too) and subbed for the young lady who knows about hypnotizing headliner. Great videos, sir, and wonderful family interaction. Please keep them coming!
Old Nova looks really nice.
I love this Nova my father had a 76 in this orange/red color that looked perfect on it we put swivel seats from a olds custom and it looked amazing. You should really fix it up
Awesome....you better keep us up to date on this build!!!
Wow seeing that spare tire reminded me of when mom and dad had a Red four door NovA back in the early eighties.
Really enjoyed your video, you’ve got a great little helper there
My town police dept in the late 70's ran police package Novas, 305's dual exhaust. With the suspension upgrade they handled like go carts. Real quick too.
I really like this car! Please make more episodes on it
Overhaul drivetrain, new interior, exhaust with a couple of flowmaster 50s and a paint job! Keep going excited to see you transform it
She's a keeper for sure! Nice!
Friend of mine had a Nova just like it when we was teenagers. Brings back some good memories 👍
You could put Torque Thrust rims on a Yugo and they'd look great. That car is coming along fantastic. My son went to kindergarten with a girl named Carly who could be her exact twin. Same great personality. Keep up the good work on this great Nova.

EXCELLENT JOB SO FAR
Cleaned up nice! Like the tires and wheels!
Never understand the need to do a burn out with a car that's been setting 25 years...
Best part of this, is your time with your daughter...Well done...
You bought this from my sister. Good to see you getting it back on the road. Unfortunately, my dad's health wouldn't allow him to restore it. Good job!
I can't believe how good it runs. Pretty amazing!
And great that the kids are involved.

I think I would have completely removed all the seats, especially the rear (best place for mouse nests) but it cleaned up pretty good considering.👍
The little black box you found after the golf balls is the seat belt buzzer.
Hey from Canada ont
That little black box was the door and key buzzer.
And for the seat belts, very annoying little rascals.
My advice... get it mechanically right and safe. Put a windshield in it. Maybe try to get the ac working. It looks great with it’s scars. Keep it stock and drive it. That actually would have been a great car when new . Great video
Nova's are such fantastic cars...
Grand national in the background?
Your little girl is so smart!

Loved the burnout!

Soy de Venezuela y amo ver estos carros me traen muchos recuerdos de Venezuela
Hey there HRH....love that Nova! I once bought a 78 model. Would love to see you restore this treasure
Nice Daddy & little hot rod.❤👌🏻🙏🏻

That ride will look good 👍 on the Raz nice ride
I like this Nova it runs pretty good !
If you're in a region that carries it, use Greased Lightning degreaser. White and yellow bottle. Cleans everything.
