Another great video! The Fall colors looked really good and the views from the ridgeline scenic areas were beautiful. Glad you were able to avoid the hydraulic oil as that stuff really stays on the tires and takes several miles of careful riding to work it off. I am still amazed how far off the beaten track so many people seem to live in PA!
In almost every pa bdrx video I watch there are issues finding/following the route and frequent road closures. It makes me hesitant to ride it. Really enjoyed your video series though!
You know, I went into this ride knowing how far between gas stations but only got tipped off to one road closure via a Facebook group. Lesson learned on my end is have extra gas just incase. Luckily I did not run out! After this ride purchased a small extra gas can for the next go around or different adventure. Thanks for watching my videos!
I used my BMWs Connected App for GPS. It was not good though, randomly it would stop giving directions and I couldn’t get back to the turn-by-turn when out of cell range (even after downloading the offline maps. I just bought a Garmin Zumo XT2 specifically because the app was so unreliable from this trip!
Nice video. I’ll be riding this section in the near future. I noticed you have a cradle for your phone and yet you were able to control the phone gps from the wheel on the bike. How did you manage that? Is the cradle connection part of that solution? If so what cradle is that and how is it connected? Thx
Thanks so much! It is an OEM solution by BMW. The cradle is called the “connected cradle” and I am using the BMW navigation app. However, the app has loads of issues. Much of the time through the sections I wasn’t able to control the app via the bmw wonder wheel (twist control on left hand handlebar) due to it disconnecting. The bmw navigation app also messed up quite a bit! From this experience I have decided to get a permanent GPS as having no service much of the time and having the app GPS mess up is no good. Considering the Garmon Zumo XT2. We shall see though!
If you are riding this trail. The Stonyfork Lodge on Stony fork road near Wellsboro is the perfect stop over!
This is good to know for next time!
Nice adventure. Glad you got through that last road work. Thanks for posting.
Was almost out of luck on that one. Guess that is one reason they call it “adventure riding”. Never know what will happen!

Thanks! People really do live far out of the way, cool to see though.
I ride a lot of the same places. I enjoy your content. Have a good Thanksgiving!
PA does have some great roads. Thanks so much for watching and have a good Thanksgiving as well!

Were you using a GPS or your phone gps? what specifically did you use for your directions? Great video.

99.9% of the buildings on PA state forest land are hunting cabins.
This is good to know!
