The whole cooked chickens from Costco are often used as a source of cooked chicken for several meals here in the US. The same bird might become chicken tacos one night, chicken casserole another, and chicken salad sandwhiches for lunch one day. :)
Interesting, the Kirkland branded stuff is actually the exact same in the US. Although it's possible there's some degree of modification to the ingredients because certain ingredients that are legal here are illegal in food elsewhere. If the pizza is using imported ingredients and not locally sourced, it's probably the most authentic American style pizza you can get in Japan. Mind you, their pizza is still what you'd get at a fast food pizza chain like Dominos, but imo it's the best you can get in that category especially for the price, but from a real pizza restaurant it's a whole other level of quality.

I got home from my job in a Canadian Costco bakery and saw this notification 😅 Our banana muffins have a cookie like crumble on top instead of walnuts. They also use banana flavoring that gives me indigestion lol.
The chicken is called a "loss leader". Which is selling an item either at or below cost to entice people to come in the store. Usually, the chickens are in the back of the store. This is to increase the likelihood of people seeing more items that they may then impulsively buy. At that price, the muffins may also be loss leaders, not positive.
If you did not know, the chicken is a "loss leader". It is purposely sold at a low price, often sacrificing profit. Because it is usually in the back of the store, the theory is a person will impulsively pick up other items when walking through the store.

Another great video!!! I love going to my local Costco here in Phoenix AZ! I buy the chicken at least twice a week and use it for different dinner ideas. The reason the hot dog is so cheap, is because the original store owner had made the company promise to never raise the price. famously to some, he actually threatened them! ("If you raise the price of the hot dog, i will kill you." so the price has been unaffected by inflation. i suppose, the number is however probably changed some when converted from USD, but that much is unavoidable... its price is unchanged, the same as it was in 1985.
There was such a background🥹 As a consumer, I'm happy that the price will continue to be low, but it will become tougher for management. I'm surprised the price hasn't changed in 40 years.

Glad you liked that Rotisserie Chicken. We live in the US near Pittsburgh PA and the last thing we would buy at the grocers would be one of those chickens. Had one, and the price is not worth it especially with the poor quality and taste. Clean and cook your own chicken is the only way to go. And then it would also be cost affective for any recipe you desire.

(Allerdings glaube ich auch, Conbini food ist wichtig für leute mit kleinen Apartments. Da ist kein platz zum kochen! man muss was fertiges kaufen. Zum glück. ist es lecker :) )

The reason the hot dog is so cheap, is because the original store owner had made the company promise to never raise the price. famously to some, he actually threatened them! ("If you raise the price of the hot dog, i will kill you."
so the price has been unaffected by inflation. i suppose, the number is however probably changed some when converted from USD, but that much is unavoidable...
its price is unchanged, the same as it was in 1985.

😳 Was für ein großes Brathähnchen, für 5 Euro. Ein halbes und nur halb so dick wie dieses hier, mehr ist nicht zu haben. Puddingkugel 😆, nicht mit einer Tennisball Packung verwechseln 😉, die sieht genauso aus 😅 Costos gibt es auch nicht in Deutschland.
Brathähnchen bei Costco in Japan war aus irgendeinem Grund immer günstig 😆 Der Pudding war wie ein Tennisball 😉🎾 Ich möchte auch zu Costco in Deutschland ☺️
@@DigDigJAPAN Hier gibt es kein Costos 😢 Wir haben durch die "Gastarbeiter "in den 60er und 70er Jahre Türkische Obst und Gemüse Läden. Griechisch, Italienisch und vor allem Türkisches Essen ist bei uns weit verbreitet und gehört schon lange dazu.
Glad you liked that Rotisserie Chicken. We live in the US near Pittsburgh PA and the last thing we would buy at the grocers would be one of those chickens. Had one, and the price is not worth it especially with the poor quality and taste. Clean and cook your own chicken is the only way to go. And then it would also be cost affective for any recipe you desire.
