I've always wanted to work on my flexibility so I'll give this a shot! I can make an update here every week!
Day 1, May 25,2023 - i can reach about halfway past my shins as my starting point. Felt a nice stretch in both my legs today
    UPDATE:
Week 2 Start, June 1, 2023 - I can reach my ankles now! Not sure if I'm supposed to continue doing week 1 exercise, but I'll just keep doing both exercises.
Week 3 Start, June 8, 2023- Halfway there! I can for the first time in my life, finally touch my toes!! I can even touch the ground haha I can only last for a second or 2 though.
Exercise 3 takes more time than the other two so I think I'll just do only exercise 3.
Week 4 Start, June 15, 2023- I haven't noticed much improvement this week. However, I've been able to extend my leg out higher when doing the front kick as the week went on!
Today was the start of doing the week 4 exercise, and wow I'm actually sweating after doing it! Haha
I was able to hold my feet for a bit longer after today's stretch! I feel like i might make more improvements by the end of the challenge. See you guys on day 30!
Final update, Day 30, June 24, 2023: Unfortunately I haven't stretched much throughout this week. I was quite busy with assignments and midterms, and used those things as an excuse to not stretch. Still, I'm happy with the progress I made in the past month! I went from straining to reach my shins, to being able to touch the floor. I'll include stretching into my daily routine going forward.
Goodluck to everyone on your fitness journey!

Week 3 : finished! Still can't get my chest to touch the leg but I'm getting a loooottttttt closer than ever. It's easier to touch my toe too! And these stretch help me a lot to do deep squat!

Taking on this challenge as I'm just getting back into fitness.
Week 1 [April 9] - ✅️ Started noticing improvements halfway through the week. Was able to touch my toes again by the end of the week after not stretching/working my hammies consistently for many months!
Week 2 [April 16] - ✅️ My hammies were starting to feel a little sore, but by the middle of the week, I was able to get that 90° angle with my legs straight and back arched 💪
Week 3 [April 23] - ✅️ I missed a couple of days due to being super tired, but I did notice some gains by the end of the week. At the beginning of the week, my quads were sore doing the slow leg kicks, and my hammies felt strained doing one legged hinges. But by the end of the week, I was able to reach past my toes with more ease than before. Consistency is key 💪
Week 4 [April 30] - Forgot to update. Made good gains. These stretches are good 👍

Hey Anjela... I'm sorry about your pain, I know all too well exactly how fuqt up life can be when you're in excruciating lumbar and cervical pain! I'm not going to go through the long list of injuries and ailments bcz it's negative reinforcement, I highly recommend not talking about it, except to describe symptoms w/Dr's.
I highly recommend something called orthopedic massage therapy. It's not exactly massage in a traditional sense, it's more like a way of locking the lack of mobility by the therapist, for example: holding your leg or arm, a certain way and having you lightly engage a specific muscle for 10 to 15 seconds which by doing so, the opposing muscle will be able to stretch all of way to the furthest extent of it's maximum range... it's miraculous, and every physical therapist should be trained in this, imo. They will also treat the muscle spasms by, for example: having you take a few deep breaths and relieving the low back spasms by pushing really hard right inside of your hip bone and belly and slide down the length of a muscle you knew was there, but never actually felt how the muscle gets twisted and by the therapist straightening that muscle out very painfully, but quickly and the muscle spasms on that side of your lower back is gone!!! Obviously, it's repeated on the other side, and the same thing works for the burning knots in your shoulders/neck/traps, the twisted muscle is, believe or not, in your armpit and yes, you guessed it, the therapist has to push really hard to straighten out the muscle, but again, it's over within a second, and the burning knots from hell are instantly gone!!! No fuqin joke!!! Believe me, I was in such horrible pain that I couldn't stand or walk for more than a couple minutes, and the pain was so bad that eventually, my pain management doctors had maxed me out on Fentanyl patches and Oxycodone and I was still in pain, so much so that I would buy all of 2 other people's maximum doses of the same prescriptions... it was a miracle that I didn't die!!!
But let me tell you, after the knots were instantly erased, the medicine that was fighting the pain, no longer had to making me high as a kite, mouth watering and almost puked... then when the muscle spasms in my lower back were erased, I jumped up and puked in the bucket the therapist already got ready for me because that's the common response!!! There are a bunch of things like that, it's miraculous... I would walk in spine crooked and kinked, one shoulder higher and further back than the other, one hip mu higher and further back than the other = one leg a couple inches shorter than the other, and I thought I was standing up straight, but it was clear and obvious that my body was way out of alignment!!! I could bend in 1 direction great, but hardly at all in the opposite direction... you'd be amazed by how many people are like this, usually not as extreme, but oh my God!!! After getting an hour and a half orthopedic massage, I felt like I was as an acrobatic athlete in high school and university!!! I wasn't quite able to almost do the splits or how I could kick a 10 foot high ceiling beam hard, but I felt amazing!!!!!!!!!! No joke!!!
Now if your car insurance or possibly workers comp is paying for your therapy(I'm not sure about workers comp, mine was paid for by car insurance), then you should definitely look up ORTHOPEDIC MASSAGE THERAPISTS AND GO TO THEM!!! EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET!!! IT'S WORTH IT!!!
AFTER YOUR SESSION WALK FOR 10 MINUTES WITH PERFECT POSTURE AND FORM LIKE AN OLYMPIC SPRINTER!!! THIS WILL MAKE YOUR MUSCLES HOLD YOUR BODY IN PROPER POSTURE AND MAKE THE RESULTS OF THE SESSION LAST A VERY LONG TIME AND IF YOU MAINTAIN GOOD POSTURE AND WALK 3 TIMES A DAY FOR AT LEAST 10 MINUTES EVERY DAY AND WITHIN 2 WEEKS = 6 SESSIONS, YOU WILL BE HEALTHIER AND FEEL BETTER THAN YOU HAVE SINCE YOU CAN REMEMBER!!!
I PROMISE YOU THAT THIS WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE FOR THE VERY BEST!!!
I know that if you took the time to leave a comment here, then you will actually do the work to get better!!!
I am still in pain, but not on any opioid medications, I workout at the gym 3 to 4 times a week and compared to where I was 2 years ago = bedridden 80% of the day with no social life, I lost my band, my fiance left me, obviously, I certainly don't blame her and I am actually grateful for bcz she was a bitter, nasty and jaded woman with a lack of integrity... overall and in every way, I was absolutely miserable and constantly fantasizing about ways to die and make it look like an accident so my parents wouldn't think that I gave up!!!
Now I am active, exercising, working out, I have sweet, beautiful, loving girlfriend, I am playing my music again, and I'm not stuck in bed all day every day!!!
The thing is, whether you have other injuries like knees swelling and hip pain or whatever, ice it eat healthy and clean, take supplements, like I have been taking ASEA, I swear it's miraculous!!! Go to a dietitian, personal trainer, whatever, even a spiritual healer!!! I have tried it all, but different things work for different people... just commit to making constant progress!!!
If I can heal, lose about 70 lbs of fat and replace it with 30 lbs of muscle, and completely change my life, then you can!!! Especially considering that a couple of the doctors that I used to go to had seen me in public(at different times) and they both said that they would've never guessed that I would even be able to walk by then, the other just said, "No way, I don't believe it, what did you do...???" And even after I told him that I tried literally everything and found a couple of things that worked and stuck with them. He still grilled me about the things that I did and wanted details!!!
You can heal, I have and someday I will be completely pain-free!!! I won't accept it any other way!!!
      You can do it!!!
I wish you the very best!!!
      Bless you and yours
      Namaste

      @juliancw8167 Рік тому

Hey, 6’4” dude here with vastly inflexible hamstrings. I discovered a big hangup in my motion was actually my sciatic nerve, not my hamstring. If you have burning/stinging pain behind your knee joints or in your calves instead of on your quad below your butt (the hamstring) when stretching, it’s possible you do too! If you do, check out “sciatic nerve flossing” and see if that helps.

Up until two years ago i wasn't able to touch my toes with the tip of my hands. I did about 15 stretching sessions for 2 months and by that point i could palm the ground with ease. After two years i can palm my toes easily. I only stretch for 5 minutes before working out. Trust me, start stretching your hamstrings because you can keep them flexible pretty easily. (This was my experience, i am by no means an expert)

Hope this works for me. I'll keep updating here to keep myself motivated 😅
Day 1: Easy but my God 😱 my body is so stiff I can barely lean my back.
Day 2: Yesterday I found a 30 day challenge video in his channel, posted about a month ago, in which he shows how to reach your toes, except that the moves are different every day, so from now on I'll incorporate the moves in this short with the ones in the other video 💪
    Day 3: Done ✅
Day 4: Just completed today's exercise. I feel like I can do the moves better and my back feels less stiff 💪
Day 5: Done ! I think I should work on my balance too 😅
Day 6: Almost forgot, I had to wake up from sleep to do the exercise.
Day 7: End of the first week, I can bend over waaaaay better, but still far from reaching my toes though
Day 8: OMG ! I can touch my nail toes, don't know why I couldn't do it yesterday though.
Day 9: I took a break yesterday cause I needed to rest but today I feel better, so here we go again!
    Day 10: ✅
Day 11: Very sick but still managed to complete the exercise.
    Day 12: Done ✅
Day 13: Guess who injured his shoulder yesterday trying to reach their toes ???!!!😅 So obviously today is a rest day for me, hope I'll be able to continue tomorrow
Update: few days later I've just completed day 13.
Day 14: End of week 2. Sincerely, I don't see much progress from week too but I'm trusting the process🤞
    Day 15: It's getting harder 💪
    Day 16: Done !
Day 17: Completed ✔️l'm not sure if I'm doing some moves right but I'm doing it anyway 😅
Day 18: My legs are buuuuurning 🔥🥵
Day 19: Completed, honestly I keep procrastinating these days and I don't see much progress from the week before
    Day 20: Still going 🏃
    Day 21: Completed ✔️
Day 22: Today was the hardest since I started this challenge, the squat killed me 🤕
    Day 23: ✅

I am hypermobile and have such a hard time not damaging my muscles, ligaments, and/or tendons when trying to work on muscular flexibility. I can comfortably get into a stretchy position but I cannot hold it without experiencing pain. I can't even hold for the recommended 30 seconds to gain plastic deformation without injury. This is true even after my muscles are warmed up through exercise or other methods. I wish I knew how to work around this.
