I found that after more than 2 years, no one repeated the experiment more effectively, although there were attempts. But the video continues to interest people, so I revised it with details.
    Asynchronous motor 180 W, 50 Hz, 1380 RPM.
I raised the frequency to 145 Hz to increase RPM to 4000 RPM. With a further increase in the frequency, the RPM begins to fall, since the magnets slow down the rotation. For this, only a more powerful engine will help.
Neodymium magnets 20X3 mm, 60 pieces (6X10). The volume of water is about 25 ml.
If you will be using a powerful motor, be sure to center the disc and magnets precisely to eliminate vibration. And observe safety measures, fix the magnets carefully and step back to a safe distance.

Great demo of faraday's law. Try it with copper, and if you can afford to, with silver and gold plate under the beaker. Compare the time it takes to boil the same amount of water with everything else constant

Have you tried copper instead of aluminum? I remember the first time I saw the first video and commented that it could be a way to heat a cup of water in the wild without starting a fire and using a bicycle to spin the magnets, you replied for me to design the gadget, but I'm extremely busy so I couldn't.
Now...if I was to design and test a working product based on your Idea, how can I contact you privately and give you the prototype? Using copper and magnet arrangement will heat up larger water volume and faster with 300 rpm.
I've worked on a project that uses copper to radiate heat generated by friction and extracting this friction for heating.
Try copper , I'm confident you can turn your idea into a selling product by arranging the magnets differently and spinning the magnets slower.
      Steve Aspen.

@@steveaspen6773 Thanks for your comment Steve. Yes, copper conducts eddy currents better, but the fact is that these currents inhibit rotation. Therefore, more eddy currents - more braking. After all, I could simply increase the RPM of the motor with the frequency regulator to 10.000 RPM or more. But I chose a frequency of 145 Hz because the motor starts to decelerate higher up. The same will happen if you bring the aluminum plate closer or increase the thickness of the plate. There is only one way out - to use a more powerful motor. But even having increased the motor from 60 W (from the last video) to 180 W, to my surprise, I accelerated the boil from only 3.5 minutes to 3 minutes. I was hoping for at least two minutes.
So with a bicycle it is a hopeless endeavor.

    • @steveaspen6773
      @steveaspen6773 2 роки тому +2

Well....I wouldn't call it hopeless endeavor, just as design engineers improve on any engine, so can you find a sweet spot or configuration on your idea.

The magnets are 20mml by 10mml super glued North in South in North in South in, total of 20 magnets, the motor was bourth off amazon, needs to be a 2000rpm low kenetic start rotation, so it can spine easily, pre drive. Wire the copper as follows, 1 loop onto the North side use glue then a second loop onto the south side, making 2they don't touch.
Wire these through a roller switch then dived the wires so you end up with two positive and two negative coming out of the switch. Plug the motor in, let it get up to 2000rpm, then flick the switch so the charge coming from the magnetic ring goes into the motor. Forget to say put a power controller between the mag feed and the motor set to 12 volts. This will enable the mag drive to run the motor..
It just keeps on spinning, and heating the water....

    Historic induction cooker, 1909
The first patents for induction cookers existed in England shortly after 1900. [16] The invention was not used in practice. In 1956, the Frigidaire company, then a subsidiary of General Motors, demonstrated to the public some experimental devices in which a newspaper was placed between the stove and the pot that did not catch fire even though the water in the pot began to boil . The individual plate was also covered with a bell jar. [17] There was no series production here either. Between 1973 and 1975 Westinghouse manufactured a white ceramic induction cooker that was marketed under the name Cool Top 2 (CT2). The cost of this device was enormous and, including the cookware that was also sold, was $ 1,500, which, converted into purchasing power in 2017, corresponds to an amount of $ 8,260. Possibly because of this, the demand was only low.

I found your channel when I was making a brushless DC motor for a school project and was inspired by one of your designs using a reed switch with a fidget spinner. The reed switches kept burning out so instead I made my own by putting a magnet on a bent piece of copper wire that would get pushed to make contact as the fidget spinner spun which would turn on an electro magnet that pushed the rotor and then would release the copper wire so it could pass by the electro magnet and the process would repeat. Got 14.5/15 on that so thanks for the help!

Good video 👌 !! In case you want to try it, to heat the water faster you can use a package of aluminum sheets insulated from each other with insulating material that withstands the heat generated by induction. In other words, it replaces the solid aluminum base of the glass with a piece made of thin multilayer aluminum. (Try sandwich foil insulated with transformer insulation foil.)

Gotta ask... instead of using a motor to spin the magnets, is it possible to make some kind of a magnet contraption that starts spinning by applying phisical force that then continues spinning, and then in turn spins the magnets on the top that boil the water?
water boiling then creates preasure that spins a small turbine that creates electricity?
