Stunning Card! Moms are amazing! My mom lived with me and my family. She would insist on helping with things, like cleaning the kitchen after dinner, which was my grown daughter’s job. Mine and my moms health was not that great. In order for my mom to clean the kitchen (for a household of 7) it would take her hours. Because she would have to do a little and sit down. Then repeat until it was done. I would beg her to leave it..I was unable to help, because after cooking dinner, I was in too much pain to stand any longer. But, she would not listen, lol. She would just keep working at her pace, until she was done. Lots of times she would leave the pots and pans for my daughter, because they were too heavy for her. She was 4’11 and 100 pounds soaking wet. She also had tiny hands and feet. She wore a size 4 shoe. She could actually wear some shoes from the kids department. She was an amazing mother and I miss her every day. She passed away in 2015.
Moms take great joy in helping their grown kids......it eases the transition from being full time Mom, which can last awhile! AND it gives us that much-needed sense of still being useful! 😂 Kudos to your Mom - it’s amazing at times what moms will do and never let on how it’s affecting them. Moving is one of the hardest things in the world, hands down. Two years ago (at 70+ yrs old) my husband and I left our small farm of 20+ yrs to move over 200 miles away to a smaller property in a community we’d fallen in love with. I swear, it nearly killed us! That was a role reversal, because without our grown kids helping whenever they could, we could never have done it in the timeframe we had to accomplish. Imagine 20+ yrs of accumulation on a FARM to clear out, clean up and have ready for the new owner! Never again! Hahahahaha!
I always look forward to story time as much as the cards you make! You're so lucky to have such a lovely and generous Mom. Mine is 88 and in good health. She shares my love of card making and always lends a listening ear, without judging. I'm grateful for every moment we share and I'm trying to provide the same sounding board and support for my grown daughter. Enjoy your holidays!
I hope to be that Mother to my son and his new wife! He lives far away but I try my best! Your heartfelt love of family is so endearing! May your new home be filled with family, friends and lots of love and memories!
Gorgeous card Kelly! You know I love anything floral 💝 Hurray for MOM! THANKS SO MUCH for being you and helping with all the cleaning, the move & being the ray of sunshine you are 💖💖💖 God bless you all ❤ XOXO
How lucky you are, not only to have a mother, but a family. We orphans have to rely on friends to help us out, but appreciate them all the more. The card is amazing, & I love the subtle snowflake background. Am going to adapt it.
Aaahhhh, you+one layer floral card+ distress background+ copic coloring = perfection! Loved the colors. Loved the card!! So glad you are done with the rental, moving can be brutal! Families are truly our greatest blessings!!
You can tell your mom I said, props to her! I still live with my mom, due to my mental illness issues & disability, so we both help each other out all the time. I am super grateful for her. Probably the next time I move will be after she dies & I have to get my own place, both of which I am so not looking forward to, of course! :( I would rather stay where I am, but it's a big house & property for one person. Anyway.... I love how this card came out. I had to smile about the green (I assume it's meant to be grass) at the bottom, with snow. That is just so Texas! LOL We have had all of one white Christmas in the 41+ years we've lived here, and even that lasted only about a day. Usually, it's more green/yellow, with grey trees. Kind of blah, but there you go. At least it doesn't get super cold & we do have slightly longer days than up north. Love watching you color and listening to your stories. Hope you get moved in completely soon! Take care, Merry Christmas, and have a wonderful day! :)
Us Mom's really appreciate that we are acknowledged for what we do. My husband and I live in a appartment in my daughter's house. My husband built the apartment from an old unfinished basement. We have lived here 10 years. We did this because my daughter has a very demanding and time consuming job and her husband has a job that takes him away for days at a time and I was tired of the commute to take care of my grandchildren every day. I have loved taking care of my grandchildren and I would do it again in a heart beat but sometimes you feel not appreciated and taken for granted. We too are moving just sold our home here with my daughter and son in law. Love my apartment in the basement worked really hard to make it into my home. But the other mother in law is 10 years older than me and lost her husband a few years ago and my son in law, who may I say is the best. Wants to take care of his Mom so she is moving in with us. Long story but not enough room for us here so moving. So you just saying that about your mother is so sweet and I know for a fact that she appreciates you telling her. As a mother that is all that we want is to be there for our children and grandchildren but nice to hear the thank you every now and then.
This is really beautiful Kelly. So happy you have gotten settled and your Mom just did what we do as Mother's. (I am sure you will be the same way when Peanut is grown and needs a helping hand.) My son and daughter have always come first and even though they are both grown and married and very self sufficient, when they need me I am here....your Mom is an amazing Mother, I can tell.
I'm just love everything that you do! Moving is such a nightmare. So nice to be in the new place but I do not envy the process at all. I'm so glad that you still have your mom and that you have such a close family location wise and emotionally close. And massive massive massive kudos to your mom. She truly is a rockstar
Such a blessing to have your mom, miss my mamma everyday!!! I know how she feels, my son also moved into a house & I did all I could to help and still am. It’s an invigorating feeling when you help your children and watch them flourish, it puts a pep in your step! Love the coloring and the beautiful card you made! So grateful you shared your current journey & wonderful card making skills!!! Praying that everyone gets plenty of rest soon and enjoy the fruits of your labor!!! BLESSINGS & HUGS!!!
That's what family is for! And yes....your mother is a rock star! I have done this same type of thing for my children. When you are in the middle of it...your adrenaline just kicks in! And when it's over ...I'm like....OMG...that was a nightmare...I am exhausted!!
I feel for you Kelly! While it's exciting and all to buy a new house, it's soooooo much work, as you can attest. God bless your Mom and everyone that helped! My husband and I moved from Oregon to Idaho in September and it was not a fun experience, although now that we're settled it's wonderful to be here! Hang in there, being done with the rental is a huge hurdle to have behind you.
Moms are angels among us. They never complain and are always there to help. I love your stories, Kelly! And your coloring is spectacular:-) Have a wonderful day and enjoy your home.
Great card! I’ve decided to never move again, don’t think I can handle it! 🥴. Your Mom is amazing! She’s always there for you, peanut and I’m sure your sisters and their families too! You are really lucky!
Your Mom sure is amazing! It’s so nice of her to help you. It is nice that you gave her credit in this video. Good luck with the rest of your unpacking. I really like your card, especially the tone on tone snowflakes!
Beautiful!!! You are lucky to have your mom...cherish her! Lost my mom the 1st of the year, it's been kind of a hard holiday season! She also was a rock star:) I love watching your videos!
What a wonderful Help your mom has been. I have not had that experience but that is ok because I try to be that mom for my kids. Rockstar moms like yours is what gives me examples to be like.
This is so pretty! LOVE the pop of color with the stunning flowers! Wow!! And so happy for your super amazing, incredible, wonderful village! Major props to your Momma!!
Awesome card Kelly, I love it! Moms are the best, Kudos for her and for all the people who helped you moving. I hope you, Nathan and Eric (at some point in time) will have a wonderful live in this new home.
You just made my life seem so much less complicated! Thanks for the reminder to not sweat the little things when others are working sooo much harder than I am. I am wishing you many years of good health and happiness in your new home. Of course, I also enjoyed watching you do your magic on this fabulous card, as well.
Yes, your mom is a rock star and it sounds like she instilled that in her daughters! Great job on this card too, it’s gorgeous. Btw, I lost my mom two years ago to a very aggressive form of cancer, being a nurse (though pediatrics is my specialty), I knew it was going to be a tough journey on her and those of us caring for her... but I never imagined just how hard, it’s a totally different view from this side of the fence. She was the glue that held our family together... and tomorrow’s her birthday (the 10th). I miss her so much, in fact I’ve found myself reaching for my phone to call her because we never went for more than a few days without talking, sometimes about nothing. So give your mom an extra hug and never pass up the chance to say “I love you”. ❤️
I really enjoy watching you color your stamped images. It is really helping me with color combinations because as much as I've tried I'm not good at it yet. Thanks for being inspirational!
Massive shout out to mum xxx I had a very same situation when we last moved house, total nightmare, so understand fully. I seem to have gained the same skills now I'm a mum, as I did exactly the same when my daughter moved from ours to her flat then again from flat to house. Bet you do it when Nathan's turn to xxx
I know where your going through moving is super stressfull.Nummer 1 stressfactor. So I do understand your tired. And yes you do need family help .And my mother was alsof the best.I was always so proud of her, always prepared to help. She did a 3 hour drive Just to help me out.I miss her every day now that she is gone
Gorgeous card! Loved that you detailed the coloring. I am trying to learn to color. I am not an artist but I find it a stress relief and lots of fun. Love your story time. Sounds like you have a wonderful mother.
Wow, Kelly! You’ve really got a lot going on! Don’t think I’d be doing any crafting with all that! Your mom is AMAZING! How wonderful that you live close enough and can not only accept the help, but also share the excitement!! Beautiful card, as always !!
beautifl card, lucky you had your mum to help you like that, you will do that for peanut one day! moving is not much fun, but you are almost finished now
BEautiful card with lovely Copic coloring. 😍😍 Can’t imagine how you do all you do. Of course, my mother never helped me in any way once I was married. She said that’s the way things are. She did come for a day after each of my kids came home from the hospital. And my husband doesn’t cook, clean or organize. That’s up to me. So I am sooooo happy that you have a loving, kind, sweet and extremely helpful mom & man in your life!
Very wonderful card. Your coloring is great. I'm happy you like the house you bought. Sounds like moving is about over. Hope it's close to the parents, as they sure are loving and helpful.
Ugh moving is so exhausting! We always leave our rentals in better shape than when we moved in, but always seem to get screwed for things that were already there. So I take pics now. One place had us charged for replacing a carpet that had seen 3 other families before us. We had it shampooed and spot cleaned. But the owner wanted to sell.... so we were the patsies that paid for his new carpet! He had his daughter show us pics of it when it was NEW.... 3 families before us... with kids. We didn’t have kids at home. Always something! Wish we could buy but we tend to move a lot due to job relocations. Kudos to mom for her energy! I’m her and I hurt just doing all 3 bathrooms! Lol! Blessings to you and this new ho e! PS....beautiful card! As always! 💕🙋♀️🎄🌴
Love the card Kelly. So excited that you're all but moved into your new house. It hit me today that Christmas is exactly two weeks from Wednesday. Boy this year flew right by, didn't it I wrote out my Christmas cards and mailed them all this afternoon and went to the store. Just dropped cards in 📬 in front of my bank 🏦 and walked into the market( both are around the corner from me and in the same shopping center) . Already have gotten two Christmas cards, will probably get around 10 or so.
Beautifully coloured and designed Kelly, lovely floral image. Mums can be amazing, pleased you're getting settled in your new home, especially in time for Christmas xx
Moms ARE amazing. I'm just waiting for my kids to realize this fact--LOL! So glad you are out of the rental from H E double hockey sticks ;-) and that you are settling down in your new home. Love the card. It's so vibrant!
Beautiful card as always and look forward to more when yr settled. I've just moved house too and totally get how tiring and stressful it can be. Wishing you all lots of happiness in yr new home xx
Beautiful card Kelly. I miss my rock star mom every single day. She was my rock. Thankfully my son thinks I'm a rock star mom and I told him I learned from the best. Congrats on moving to your new home as a family. I think it's awesome that you and your ex get along so well. When you said you two took Peanut to dinner with Santa I was thinking how great is that.
Couldn’t help but think of you when I got the email that the Pantone 2020 Color of the Year is Classic Blue!! A whole year for your boyfriend! Beautiful card Kelly!
Kind of late to the party as far as commenting on your videos. Congrats on your possible forever home. Home ownership is a lot of work - but well worth the effort. I’m sure that in the end, your Mom (and other friends & family) were secretly glad they could help you out because you needed the help. BTW - you keep mentioning “Peanut” makes cards as well. I would be fascinated to see a montage of some of them....
I'm glad your move is over (for the most part); moving is one of my least favorite things in the world! And thanks for the inspiration. I got the amaryllis stamp set (I've even stamped it out), but I haven't had a chance to color it yet. Oh well
What a beautiful card!!!! Here they have a tenants union if they try to keep your deposit for lack of grounds! So miss my parents, next move is when I retire gonna have to move by myself wont be fun...
you give your mother the biggest hug, she sounds like an amazing woman. congrats on your new home, and the card is beautiful. what cardstock did you use, btw? I was always under the impression that distress inks will not blend on neenah solar white, that you should use bristol smooth. can you use copics on bristol smooth?
I have heard it blends easier on Bristol but I tried it and wasn't overly impressed. I'm pretty much use Neenah 80lb exclusively and that's what I used here. It isn't as thick as 110lb which is why it's better for Copics. The ink blends in the fibers of the paper. I'm sure you can use Copics on Bristol. There shouldn't be any reason why not.

Oh well
❤️❤️
What a beautiful card!!!! Here they have a tenants union if they try to keep your deposit for lack of grounds! So miss my parents, next move is when I retire gonna have to move by myself wont be fun...
Hey you didn’t do your bold outline......or did I miss it? Thanks Kelly’s mom, for being the ideal of a mom....what a gift💕. Merry Christmas🎄
I made it so long ago I can't remember if I did or didn't honestly 😂
you give your mother the biggest hug, she sounds like an amazing woman. congrats on your new home, and the card is beautiful.
what cardstock did you use, btw? I was always under the impression that distress inks will not blend on neenah solar white, that you should use bristol smooth. can you use copics on bristol smooth?
I have heard it blends easier on Bristol but I tried it and wasn't overly impressed. I'm pretty much use Neenah 80lb exclusively and that's what I used here. It isn't as thick as 110lb which is why it's better for Copics. The ink blends in the fibers of the paper. I'm sure you can use Copics on Bristol. There shouldn't be any reason why not.
😍😍
Your coloring looks so effortless. Do you use the Copic Sketch brush nib or do you change them.
I use the brush nib
Beautiful card! BTW holly grows on trees not the ground.
Good to know. :)
❤️❤️❤️😍😍
Beautiful card Kelly! I love Amaryllis-check out my post of the ones I made from paper. Merry Christmas 🎄
Uhmmm can I get a job cleaning a single stove for over $100?? Cuz I could use that money. Lol. 🙄
❤️❤️❤️
