Ah I had to play as soon as I saw it was the new engine, it's been a lovely afternoon playing this with the Kings coronation in the background!
I always hated the fact that croft manor didn't made it into the 4 and 5.
And we had to always do that first tutorial level in the 4 (it's so slow and boring when you already played the game before.)
Luckily there is now a patch to skip any cutscene on TR4. Also TR5. And yeah, I really wished see a croft manor also in 4 and 5

I bought 4 and 5 when they were released on PS1 so no patch for me back then.

If you touch the tile of the starting point with the pistols, they dissapears
@@DoggettTV - That's not exactly a bug ;)
@@krisnephilim The guns disappear after you take them from the cabinet and you return to the starting tile, is this normal?
@@DoggettTV - oh, I completely forgot about it! Yeah, this tile is supposed to work once! I'm going to release an update filtering few playthroughs and get this sorted. Thanks for pointing out!

fun fact: I know it will takew time for people to notice but when you are on a monkey swing, you can press TURN and lara will turn on the monkey, and she can go backwards on monkeyswing aswell :)

You can also jump from monkey swing forward on a square distance!
I found that out while playing, but also when she is crouched. Love those new moves.
I realize it's more of a showcase level of what Croft Manor could look like in a remake, but I couldn't help myself and let people play around with it! Thanks for playing! I hope it was fun as eventless as it was ;)

I just watched the vid, but honestly, exploring Croft Manor should be a fun, relaxing time, and that does have merit after some of the really intense levels other people create. What I like about this is that despite how weird the overall layout is (who would build their manor like this?), it's like it still tells a story. TR2 showed bad guys raid her home, so having secret nooks and passageways all around the house would make sense. I also loved the vault, seeing the compies, the Hand of Rathmore, and the Amulet of Horus......what a fun place to explore, and the secrets to actually hunt for like Anniversary and Legend.
All right, at this point, I think we have to wonder if Lara is getting a little TOO rich for her own good. I mean, adding in a personal gym and assault course? Sure - that's reasonable, for someone with her lifestyle. A trophy room? Well, who wouldn't? A quad bike course, a giant swimmable personal aquarium? Er... sure. But an underground personal museum with giant tableaux of her favorite tombs, kept freshly stocked with friggin' dimetrodons to blow away whenever she feels like it? Now we're entering crazy-Roman-emperor territory.
In my headcanon those are more of secure vault sections preserving for safety some of the most dangerous but still active artifacts or living creatures Lara didn't decide to destroy in the end. Unfortunately lizards broke out of their cages so... That display isn't going to be built 😅
@@krisnephilim 'Didn't decide to destroy in the end'? We ARE still talking about Lara Croft, here, right? That girl never met a fellow creature she didn't want to obliterate with offensive weaponry. If she spared any of them, it was just because she wanted to hunt them down later.
Now, the vault business, I could buy, except for the fact that they're in enormous terrariums filled with painstaking reproductions of the environments she took them from. That is a museum exhibit, plain and simple - there is no other context where that sort of display makes sense. (Anyway, she's already got her trophy room for that; I bet she's got crazy security systems on those cases.)
@@Psycopathicus - still the Hand from TR3 Gold can already mutate living beings so she froze it on ice just in case. Making sure no one reaches it.
@@krisnephilim A freezer with a combination lock would serve the exact same function.
