68 class and 88 class look alike. Looks like the 88 class uses overhead electric. I read where they are a Swiss design. l love the big numbers on the sides of some of the EMD sheds.

88s are bimode so they can run off overhead or diesel, 68s are just diesel

Yes, Class 88 is a dual mode version with auxiliary diesel engine in basically the same bodyshell as Class 68
