Exactly same problem for me. My note 9 pro only works on charger. Will try your method.
If it is a wide common known problem, MI India should recall the affected phones and replace the battery free or in discount.

It still not working 2 year my phone not open and still black screen , when i charged it , still can't open and black screen , my phone just show the battery need to charge , but when i charge it still not open , so sad 😢

Please dont do this guys.. Better put new battery.. He has done direct connection of the battery fuse which is dangerous and will harm your phone IC, motherboard, etc.. Specially while carging if voltage goes high..
The source of bootloop problems is not old battery. In my case it was flashing wrong firmware.
As per discussion with my service center he said doing this all load directly shift on phon board and at the end board will dead.. Is it true?

Let me tell you the absolute reason for this bootloop..
It's because the fuse from the battery to the phone got damaged... It's actually not a software issue...
It's only the problem about the fuse...
It will be easily repaired from a mobile repairing shop only for ₹800..
But why it suddenly started only after Software update ?
How long will it take to recover??? And will we lose the data on our phone/ apps/photos, and pictures which were not backed up

My redmi notw 9 battery and phone was running well untill i update it to Android 12/MIUI13
Now it starts rebooting itself, while calling, increasing volume to full, or using camera
Service centre say it's battery problem but they are lying its actually software problem
