- पहलवान विनेश फ़ोगाट ने दावा किया है कि 2021 टोक्यो ओलंपिक के बाद उन्होंने भाजपा सांसद और भारतीय कुश्ती महासंघ के अध्यक्ष ब्रजभूषण शरण सिंह से जुड़ी शिकायतों का ज़िक्र प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी से किया था, हालांकि विनेश के मुताबिक उन्होंने इस बातचीत में कथित यौन शोषण की बात नहीं की थी. विनेश का दावा था कि प्रधानमंत्री मोदी के बाद उन्होंने खेलमंत्री को "और थोड़ा खुलकर बातें बताईं" लेकिन बात ब्रजभूषण शरण सिंह तक पहुंच गई. आरोपों पर खेल मंत्री अनुराग ठाकुर ने टिप्पणी नहीं मिल पाई, हालांकि हाल ही में उन्होंने कहा कि सरकार के लिए खेल और खिलाड़ी सरकार की प्राथमिकताएं हैं और इस बारे में वो कोई समझौता नहीं करेगी.
