If you think this is bad (which it is, I admit) you should see the plan that Hardy had for the third film. It was going to be a black comedy set on Shetland with Norse Mythological stuff in it. The antagonist was going to be a one-eyed Hollywood executive called Mr. Odin. Hardy was set on making the film, and it only stopped production when he sadly died in 2016.

Christopher Lee can make good movies even better and bad movies watchable, he is one of those actors

Wow this truly looks terrible. that younger guy is already a terrible actor, but next to christopher lee he looks ever worse.

A terrible scene in every department. Sorry, but even Christopher Lee is awful. The younger guy can't stop blinking and sounds like he's reading the lines off an idiot board. And the whole thing is filmed in some dreadful looking green screen with the audio not at all sounding like it was recorded outdoors - although they did throw a few birds chirping to make us think so. Love the original, but this is so, so bad.

It's so surreal in it's awfulness, I cannot believe Robin Hardy directed this turkey! There's one or two good ideas, and the potential for an interesting thematic follow-up was there, but the truly _awful_ acting totally killed any potential!

Is Hardy a hack who just got lucky with Wicker Man

Yes, I think so. Hardy was an old-fashioned British intellectual who was interested in myths, beliefs and concepts and who seemed blind to how contrived was his melodramatic dialogue or how wooden the outmoded acting style he promoted - even in ‘The Wicker Man’ - where the brilliantly eccentric originality of the story carried it, despite his serious defects as a director.

This is an odd bit of the scene to choose it's a short scene, but not this short. If I remember right Lee was to have a real role in the film but was ill and so they more or less created this one scene to at least have him in the movie. In general, not Lee, but pretty much the whole cast is poor and really hurts the film. It still have a few moments and a good idea at it's core but I think the acting sinks it. Anthony Shaffer had an idea for a sequel that Robin Hardy didn't like, I have to assume Shaffer's idea must have been better.

I think Lee barely has about 50 words in this, clearly shot everything by himself in 10 minutes in front of a green screen. His dialogue barely matches the scene, the scene barely fits the movie, and the movie is... not good.

Honestly it looks to me like they're both green screened in
