That was great! I have to do this to a prom dress-that she ordered too small! Going to use some of your concept. Thank you for clear cut directions, and what didn’t work!
Yay! I’m glad this was helpful! I have a couple of easy to use corset kit videos, too. In case you can’t get enough off the hem. ua-cam.com/video/HyBXD-DbICQ/v-deo.html
Love your complete and easy to follow directions for adding a corset to a bridesmaid dress that it too small. It is coming together perfectly. My tip for turning the loops; I use a 2 and 1/2 “ plastic needle. Securely tie a heavy thread to needle and loop end. It pulls through easily. Thank you for your uTube video 😊
I have never used a kit (I'm too cheap) and have used a couple of different methods but not this one exactly. I am pinning this so I can find it when I need it.
I buy my kits off Amazon and they are pretty affordable there! Although I’m usually doing this as an alteration for a client and can pass the cost to them. They are just limited in colors, which is why I made this one from the hem! Let me know how it turns out!
Hi! I made them as long as the fabric I cut off the hem would allow! I believe it was about 55 inches. And I definitely recommend making them only 1 layer - the double layer I used was very difficult. Hope this helps 😊

Great suggestion! I haven’t tried that method before. Thank you for your kindness ❤️
You made that look easy. Slippy fabrics and fiddly bits ❤
Haha! It actually was pretty easy. Until the straps…those are always bothersome to me. Thanks for watching!

Thank you very much, Ester!!! ❤️
BEAUTIFUL ❤❤❤
Thank you so much! ❤️
I followed your instructions to a tee and I created my first corset back on a bridesmaid dress that was to small.
Oh my goodness - great job! I’d love to see your work!
Wow - that was a lot of work but it turned out great!
It was, but definitely worth it! Thank you 😊
How long did you make the corset sting that you lace through the corset?
Since I was using existing fabric from the bottom of the dress, I didn’t measure but rather used as much as I could! It was probably roughly 8 feet.
Can you add the corset without taking the zipper out?
You can! I made a video where I kept half of the zipper, if interested. ua-cam.com/video/HyBXD-DbICQ/v-deo.html
Could you skip the boning?
Hi! You can if you don’t have boning, but it really helps keep the structure of the corset. Otherwise it might be floppy and not look as finished.
You are hilarious 🤣
Haha! Thank you! I’m trying to make sewing fun 😆
How long did you make the straps please?
