"In The Jungle With The Most Dangerous Bushcraft Tool" Dangerous for both the user and anything wanting to threaten the user!
With daily sharpening, how long you think a cutlass, or machete should last?
A lifetime, and, to my mind, daily sharpening will increase the blades lifetime over occasional sharpening (if the usage is the same). This being as a very light polish of the edge skims off a few microns of metal as opposed to having to grind away at a blunted blade, reshaping the bevel etc.
...Don't think you were actually asking that in comparison to irregular sharpening, but, worth mentioning. I think a hefty blade like that of a machete would last a lifetime if used and sharpened by someone with a few brain cells.
Can't wait for AI to clone that Ray Mears into a portable device!🤭🤭🤭
