I've also only just recently started listening to the audiobooks to get the stuff left out by the manhua adaptation. I think the background lore is quite interesting and am enjoying the listen. I understand the people who are doing the anime only typically don't have the free time to do a possible read of the manhua or LN, so I try to give some of the left out background info that would be helpful as long as it doesn't stretch into the realm of being too spoilery (hopefully).
