Time and time again, on these fly casting videos, what I SEE..........SEE is the key word here. And,mask a fly caster myself, we all do the same thing . We all strip line first. We strip line before each cast. So, in reality the reel is only a bucket to hold the line so we do not trip on it. The reel seems to be the least important part of my fly fishing rig. The pole is important, but THE LINE, is the key. What I see in this video is a ton of machine time on a CNC machine tool creating a ton of chips selling for scrap that the buyer is getting charged for. We are paying for the chips. A cast aluminum does not need so much machine time creating buckets of chips. Cast reels do need a very......very small amount machine time. I have found some VERY CHEAP cast reels that are VERY GOOD. A CAST REEL IS THE BEST VALUE.
