      same here. never have been a great housekeeper. im trying to do better after catching midwest magic cleaning, this gal, and a couple others. im old now and we have the $$$ to hire someone. the problem is we live so far out in the country no one wants to come out here. at $15.00 an hour youd think it wouldnt be this hard.

      I’ve solved the problem of folding fitted sheets. You have one set of sheets, you take it off the bed, wash it, dry it, put it back on the bed, problem solved.

      @@LynsAlteredArts I used to do this all the time, but then I had little kids that would occassional "wet" our bed when they snuck in during the middle of the night. 🤦‍♀ Luckily they are older now and it's not a problem anymore. Whew! 😂

      That is awesome! Thank you for mentioning that. That really makes me feel good to know that even in 11 year old can hear the difference. I think I will always have a little bit of awkwardness about me, but better is better. I don't need to be the most amazing public speaker. Any Improvement is just fine with me. Thanks, Bonnie!

    Cleaning the wicker etagere for me is hosing it down and letting it air dry. It not only cleans every nook and cranny, it tightens up the lacing. I have been doing this for years with mine and it looks as good as new. Plus it remains sturdy.

    So nice to see people not being judgemental. My adult son died 4 yrs ago. I had a break lost my job and have been in therepy for 2 yrs. I had my sons entire apt and all of his things in my house. I couldnt touch anything without having major panic attacks. I just started being able to go through things. Its so hard. All I have been able to do is kitchen bathroom and survive. I get how these things can happen. Trauma is awful

      @ABeautifulMessExtremeCle-zl1wp  10 місяців тому +3

      Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry to hear that! That is utterly heartbreaking. It drives me crazy when people comment about how a person must be so lazy to live in these conditions. I just think, have you really never met anyone who has had trauma or mental health struggles? It does devastating things. I so wish I could come help you with your situation. It sounds devastating to deal with.😪 My best wishes for your future.💕🙏

    Here’s a tip on sheets. Sets with pillowcases, all parts get stored in one pillowcase. Top/bottom sheet set, use a large ziploc bag, or a bag with zipper that the sheets were originally in. Use permanent marker to say the size of the sheets on the plastic bags.

    • @SIC647
      @SIC647 10 місяців тому +2

      Ziplock bag for sheets. What a great idea, and so simple! Why hadn't I thought of that. I was thinking about sewing coloured string in the corner.
      We mostly have 140 cm wide sheets, but also a few 90 cm ones and they always get lost. No more, thank you.
      *55" and 35" wide. I don't know what it is in the USAmerican "named sizes system"

    • @Nicki704
      @Nicki704 9 місяців тому

      39 in to 35 in wide is bed twin size
      55 in wide is double bed size
      60 in wide is queen bed size
      I think 72 in wide is king bed size

    As a survivor this hit home❤ I never thought Id be a victim because I watched my mom be one.I was in school for Criminal Justice & I was in a 4 year hell with someone that manipulated me. He waited until I was in love with him,then showed me his other side:( being broken myself(also a child abuse survivor) I wanted to try to fix/help him.He spit on me,threw me in broken glass,ripped my hair out,punched me,kicked me. And mentally destroyed me. I was a strong woman & found myself in a horrific situation.And I ALLOWED IT.That was hard to wrap my head around! Finally after horrific things happening to me everyday for years. I escaped & wish I done so sooner. Then unfortunately years later..found myself in another one..even worse than before! For almost 6 years. I left him almost 10 years ago & been single for over 6 years. Happier now than ever! Life is about finding YOUrself not someone else.Its a beautiful gift. Live,choose happiness,laughter,& peace❤ I focus on my kids & God. Thats all I need in life❤ God Bless you,your friend helping,& this woman..I pray that her journey is Blessed! Shes stronger than anything that tries to break her!

      Thank you for sharing your story. It is unfortunate that so often those that grow up with abuse find themselves in abusive relationships and it can be hard for people to understand why the abused person doesn't just leave, but I understand each situation is very complex with complex emotions and none of us who have not been through it would ever truly understand. Good for you for getting out and I'm happy that you are happy now!🫶💕

      Yay for tisha! She has a past along a lot of great stuff to the people that I help. I love making those connections. Also, you are more spot-on than you know with the reduced anxiety comment. I will actually talk about that either in my next video or the one after that because this woman had an experience with that feeling of pure joy which she said she had never really felt before when it comes to "domestic stuff." It was such a cool moment.😊💕

    Loved the sheets folding!! My very first job as a driving teenager was as a maid in a hotel and then moved up to the laundry and i didnt have any option but to fold those sheets perfectly or get gone so watching y'all do that really brought back memories!! Tip for shelves…other than repainting to make them look clean, you can put down shelf liner. That has worked wonders for me! If you don’t want it to be a long term solution, use the non adhesive type.

The only problem is, she didn't have any more room left on her phone to store pictures and needed to figure out how to get some of them off of there. I think next time I'm there this week, I'm going to see if we can get those transferred for her so that she can start taking those pictures.

      To clean wicker,vacuum first like the others said,then spray with half water and half Murphy’s Oil Soap.(small items like baskets can then be rinsed and hung to dry in the shower but something large like that etagere can be sprayed and just let dry- the oil soap not only cleans but also nourishes the wicker). About spices,I store them all in two dollar store baskets,one for baking,one for cooking.I just pull out the whole basket when I’m going to bake and write an abbreviation on the lid with a sharpie,like “C of T” for cream of tartar.

    i have been to a place in colorado called mesa verde. i used to live on the west coast and traveled there w/ mom on vacation. NOW, my sister lives right next to it. when that place was first discovered they found (early to mid- 20th century) a jar full of corn kernels and one full of beautiful red and white beans now known as 'anasazi beans'. they are pretty sure theyd been sitting there approximately 800 years!!!!!!! the only thing protecting them was a small bowl over the top of each jar to keep critters out. they planted them and they grew!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we eat them today, and theyre wonderful. different from anything youve ever tasted. go to 'dove creek milling, in colorado and order some if youd like to taste them. you wont regret it. they need to have a drier soil condition to flourish. they dont do well in a wet environment. i tried.

    If you pull the entire door off on the bottom is 1-2 large opening that you can place a cloth on a metal clothes hanger or something and actually push up into it and clean without having to take it all apart and put it back together you can also add cleaner and so it wet as well! A huge time saver and so much easier since I started doing it that way!

    im trying the fitted sheet folding, i always get it twisted when looking for the corners the second time, corners 3 and 4 (I saved the video and will rewatch and try to get it, but i was working with a large one)

      It gets trickier with the bigger sheets. I had never folded a king-size before until I went and helped at my brother's laundromat. Holy moly, those are hard to fold because they are so gigantic!

    I have a confession to make… I hate cleaning ovens and am weirdly afraid of oven cleaner. I’ve tried the baking soda and dish soap method, and it pretty much sucked. 😆
    If you’re ever up in Alberta, I’ll pay you $20 to clean my oven. But that’s $20CAD, which is equivalent to about 25 cents USD.

    To make shelves look clean …..either paint them or cover them with shelf paper.

    • @schnetzelschwester
      @schnetzelschwester 10 місяців тому

      The cans scrape on the surface of the shelves and make them look shabby. Shelf paper is a good idea, because you can replace it easily when it doesn't look nice anymore. Another option are cut out pieces of vinyl floor covering. But I would not recommend any loose covering if you have issues with roaches. They hide under it and lay eggs.
      There is also adhesive foil available, with or without patterns. You can stick it onto the shelves, but after some years it will be shabby, too, and removing it can be a pain in the a**.
      But who will look into your pantry cabinets and judge the beauty of the shelves? Better worn and clean than new and grimy.

    Vinegar and baking soda do neutralise each other, but they react together first. I always thought it was the foaming action from the reaction which helped to lift the dirt? I can't use vinegar because I'm allergic but I use citric acid and bicarbonate of soda for cleaning tough stains. Its great on stains below the waterline on the toilet (seems to loosen stains to help scrub them off).

    I was a victim of mental abuse from a narcissistic man. He had me to the point I felt like I could do nothing. I was a stay at home mom and kept a very clean home. Due to his spending I had to make most of my girls clothes to keep them clothed. When I got the divorce I went to college. It was so hard to go full time and take care of my three girls. I went to Respiratory Therapist school and did this job for 35 years. She is such a lovely lady and will do fine.

    I wish I had someone like you in Canada. I'm 70, bad back and have allowed everything to go. Many canned items, if kept in a cool, dry. dark place will last a long time. I, however, would not store canned tomato products and pineapples which are highly acidic for an indefinite time.

      There’s a woman from Nova Scotia currently helping Aurikaatariina in her videos. She’s doing similar work to Bonnie. Another option is Cas from Clutterbug. She is an organizer based in Southern Ontario (Kitchener or Cambridge area I think). Because of people like Bonnie I see others from all over the world volunteering their time to assist those who need an extra helping hand. I hope there may be more cleaner/organizers coming forward in Canada. I have seen in Facebook community groups exchanges of services happening so this may also be an option. Hope you can find some help. ❤️🇨🇦

    I have very little spice cabinet space so I use the easiest accessible area of my pantry and on the lower shelf I put a two tiered pull out strong wire drawer and above that I have a 1.5” lipped “bin” to hold some extra spices. Once the kids move out, I’m going to shrink to regular sized bottle, cuz the Costco sizes take up so much room. I keep acrylic bins to put packet mixes, baking items that sit in front of the sugar and flour. I also have a 9 row (3x3) can organizer and have it double decker on the top deep shelf. I use a step stool nearly daily in my kitchen that’s quick fold and store behind the garbage can. The can organizer has been helping me NOT over-buy items. I’ve stopped stocking up on random items and keeping a tiny stock of the items I use regularly, the top rows is for Costco over stock on staples like corn, green beans and tomato sauce. It’s so much more manageable now and I can tell my family where something is and they can actually find things.

    Found a series I missed just now. Had to check for music and I will be watching this series today on my breaks as I am decluttering and organizing my kitchen a corner at a time. Oh and if you need a name you can use mine LOL You just don't know how much you are helping me and now my daughter is also decluttering her house as she is helping me with things I can not do. Yesterday she and her husband came and helped me move all my canners and I mean canners to the garage where I have a metal set of shelves from Sam's club. Where I can have all of them together and not scattered from the garage to the kitchen. I am so happy my goal is this week to be able to do my kitchen I took the whole week off from work. I do embroidery for a store nearby and this si our less busy season so I took the whole week off.

    Thanks for the sheet folding tutorial. I usually fold the top sheet in half and in half again...then put the folded bottom sheet and the two folded matching pillow cases on top of each other on one end of the flat sheet...fold that into thirds so I have one package of the bottom, top & matching pillow cases in one package...but I'm also going to try to fold the top sheet in on itself if I can. Loved watching you and bless you for helping others!
